2 And he looked|strong="H7200", and behold a well|strong="H0875" in the field|strong="H7704", and, lo, there were three|strong="H7969" flocks|strong="H5739" of sheep|strong="H6629" lying|strong="H7257" by it; for out of that well|strong="H0875" they watered|strong="H8248" the flocks|strong="H5739": and a great|strong="H1419" stone|strong="H0068" was upon the well’s|strong="H0875" mouth|strong="H6310".
3 And thither were all the flocks|strong="H5739" gathered|strong="H0622": and they rolled|strong="H1556" the stone|strong="H0068" from the well’s|strong="H0875" mouth|strong="H6310", and watered|strong="H8248" the sheep|strong="H6629", and put|strong="H7725" the stone|strong="H0068" again|strong="H7725" upon the well’s|strong="H0875" mouth|strong="H6310" in his place|strong="H4725".
4 And Jacob|strong="H3290" said|strong="H0559" unto them, My brethren|strong="H0251", whence|strong="H0370" be ye? And they said|strong="H0559", Of Haran|strong="H2771" are we.
5 And he said|strong="H0559" unto them, Know|strong="H3045" ye Laban|strong="H3837" the son|strong="H1121" of Nahor|strong="H5152"? And they said|strong="H0559", We know|strong="H3045" him.
6 And he said|strong="H0559" unto them, Is he well|strong="H7965"? And they said|strong="H0559", He is well|strong="H7965": and, behold, Rachel|strong="H7354" his daughter|strong="H1323" cometh|strong="H0935" with the sheep|strong="H6629".
7 And he said|strong="H0559", Lo|strong="H2005", it is yet high|strong="H1419" day|strong="H3117", neither is it time|strong="H6256" that the cattle|strong="H4735" should be gathered together|strong="H0622": water|strong="H8248" ye the sheep|strong="H6629", and go|strong="H3212" and feed|strong="H7462" them.
8 And they said|strong="H0559", We cannot|strong="H3201", until all the flocks|strong="H5739" be gathered together|strong="H0622", and till they roll|strong="H1556" the stone|strong="H0068" from the well’s|strong="H0875" mouth|strong="H6310"; then we water|strong="H8248" the sheep|strong="H6629".
9 And while he yet|strong="H5750" spake|strong="H1696" with them, Rachel|strong="H7354" came|strong="H0935" with her father’s|strong="H0001" sheep|strong="H6629": for she kept them|strong="H7462".
10 And it came to pass, when Jacob|strong="H3290" saw|strong="H7200" Rachel|strong="H7354" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Laban|strong="H3837" his mother’s|strong="H0517" brother|strong="H0251", and the sheep|strong="H6629" of Laban|strong="H3837" his mother’s|strong="H0517" brother|strong="H0251", that Jacob|strong="H3290" went near|strong="H5066", and rolled|strong="H1556" the stone|strong="H0068" from the well’s|strong="H0875" mouth|strong="H6310", and watered|strong="H8248" the flock|strong="H6629" of Laban|strong="H3837" his mother’s|strong="H0517" brother|strong="H0251".
11 And Jacob|strong="H3290" kissed|strong="H5401" Rachel|strong="H7354", and lifted up|strong="H5375" his voice|strong="H6963", and wept|strong="H1058".
12 And Jacob|strong="H3290" told|strong="H5046" Rachel|strong="H7354" that he was her father’s|strong="H0001" brother|strong="H0251", and that he was Rebekah’s|strong="H7259" son|strong="H1121": and she ran|strong="H7323" and told|strong="H5046" her father|strong="H0001".
13 And it came to pass, when Laban|strong="H3837" heard|strong="H8085" the tidings|strong="H8088" of Jacob|strong="H3290" his sister’s|strong="H0269" son|strong="H1121", that he ran|strong="H7323" to meet|strong="H7125" him, and embraced|strong="H2263" him, and kissed|strong="H5401" him, and brought|strong="H0935" him to his house|strong="H1004". And he told|strong="H5608" Laban|strong="H3837" all these things|strong="H1697".
14 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559" to him, Surely|strong="H0389" thou art my bone|strong="H6106" and my flesh|strong="H1320". And he abode|strong="H3427" with him the space|strong="H3117" of a month|strong="H2320".
15 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559" unto Jacob|strong="H3290", Because thou art my brother|strong="H0251", shouldest thou therefore serve|strong="H5647" me for nought|strong="H2600"? tell|strong="H5046" me, what shall thy wages|strong="H4909" be?
16 And Laban|strong="H3837" had two|strong="H8147" daughters|strong="H1323": the name|strong="H8034" of the elder|strong="H1419" was Leah|strong="H3812", and the name|strong="H8034" of the younger|strong="H6996" was Rachel|strong="H7354".
17 Leah|strong="H3812" was tender|strong="H7390" eyed|strong="H5869"; but Rachel|strong="H7354" was beautiful|strong="H3303" and well|strong="H3303" favoured|strong="H4758".
18 And Jacob|strong="H3290" loved|strong="H0157" Rachel|strong="H7354"; and said|strong="H0559", I will serve|strong="H5647" thee seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141" for Rachel|strong="H7354" thy younger|strong="H6996" daughter|strong="H1323".
19 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559", It is better|strong="H2896" that I give|strong="H5414" her to thee, than that I should give|strong="H5414" her to another|strong="H0312" man|strong="H0376": abide|strong="H3427" with me.
20 And Jacob|strong="H3290" served|strong="H5647" seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141" for Rachel|strong="H7354"; and they seemed|strong="H5869" unto him but a few|strong="H0259" days|strong="H3117", for the love he had|strong="H0160" to her.
21 And Jacob|strong="H3290" said|strong="H0559" unto Laban|strong="H3837", Give|strong="H3051" me my wife|strong="H0802", for my days|strong="H3117" are fulfilled|strong="H4390", that I may go in|strong="H0935" unto her.
22 And Laban|strong="H3837" gathered together|strong="H0622" all the men|strong="H0582" of the place|strong="H4725", and made|strong="H6213" a feast|strong="H4960".
23 And it came to pass in the evening|strong="H6153", that he took|strong="H3947" Leah|strong="H3812" his daughter|strong="H1323", and brought|strong="H0935" her to him; and he went in|strong="H0935" unto her.
24 And Laban|strong="H3837" gave|strong="H5414" unto his daughter|strong="H1323" Leah|strong="H3812" Zilpah|strong="H2153" his maid|strong="H8198" for an handmaid|strong="H8198".
25 And it came to pass, that in the morning|strong="H1242", behold, it was Leah|strong="H3812": and he said|strong="H0559" to Laban|strong="H3837", What is this thou hast done|strong="H6213" unto me? did not I serve|strong="H5647" with thee for Rachel|strong="H7354"? wherefore then hast thou beguiled|strong="H7411" me?
26 And Laban|strong="H3837" said|strong="H0559", It must not be so done|strong="H6213" in our country|strong="H4725", to give|strong="H5414" the younger|strong="H6810" before|strong="H6440" the firstborn|strong="H1067".
27 Fulfil|strong="H4390" her|strong="H2063" week|strong="H7620", and we will give|strong="H5414" thee this also for the service|strong="H5656" which thou shalt serve|strong="H5647" with me yet seven|strong="H7651" other|strong="H0312" years|strong="H8141".
28 And Jacob|strong="H3290" did|strong="H6213" so, and fulfilled|strong="H4390" her week|strong="H7620": and he gave|strong="H5414" him Rachel|strong="H7354" his daughter|strong="H1323" to wife|strong="H0802" also.
29 And Laban|strong="H3837" gave|strong="H5414" to Rachel|strong="H7354" his daughter|strong="H1323" Bilhah|strong="H1090" his handmaid|strong="H8198" to be her maid|strong="H8198".
30 And he went in|strong="H0935" also unto Rachel|strong="H7354", and he loved|strong="H0157" also Rachel|strong="H7354" more than Leah|strong="H3812", and served|strong="H5647" with him yet seven|strong="H7651" other|strong="H0312" years|strong="H8141".
31 And when the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* saw|strong="H7200" that Leah|strong="H3812" was hated|strong="H8130", he opened|strong="H6605" her womb|strong="H7358": but Rachel|strong="H7354" was barren|strong="H6135".
32 And Leah|strong="H3812" conceived|strong="H2029", and bare|strong="H3205" a son|strong="H1121", and she called|strong="H7121" his name|strong="H8034" Reuben|strong="H7205": for|strong="H3588" she said|strong="H0559", Surely|strong="H3588" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath looked|strong="H7200" upon my affliction|strong="H6040"; now therefore|strong="H3588" my husband|strong="H0376" will love|strong="H0157" me.
33 And she conceived|strong="H2029" again, and bare|strong="H3205" a son|strong="H1121"; and said|strong="H0559", Because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath heard|strong="H8085" that I was hated|strong="H8130", he hath therefore given|strong="H5414" me this son also: and she called|strong="H7121" his name|strong="H8034" Simeon|strong="H8095".
34 And she conceived again|strong="H2029", and bare|strong="H3205" a son|strong="H1121"; and said|strong="H0559", Now this time|strong="H6471" will my husband|strong="H0376" be joined|strong="H3867" unto me, because I have born|strong="H3205" him three|strong="H7969" sons|strong="H1121": therefore was his name|strong="H8034" called|strong="H7121" Levi|strong="H3878".
35 And she conceived|strong="H2029" again, and bare|strong="H3205" a son|strong="H1121": and she said|strong="H0559", Now|strong="H6471" will I praise|strong="H3034" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: therefore she called|strong="H7121" his name|strong="H8034" Judah|strong="H3063"; and left|strong="H5975" bearing|strong="H3205".
