Ezequiel 22

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Moreover the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559",

Now, thou son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", wilt thou judge|strong="H8199", wilt thou judge|strong="H8199" the bloody|strong="H1818" city|strong="H5892"? yea, thou shalt shew|strong="H3045" her all her abominations|strong="H8441".

Then say|strong="H0559" thou, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, The city|strong="H5892" sheddeth|strong="H8210" blood|strong="H1818" in the midst|strong="H8432" of it, that her time|strong="H6256" may come|strong="H0935", and maketh|strong="H6213" idols|strong="H1544" against herself to defile|strong="H2930" herself.

Thou art become guilty|strong="H0816" in thy blood|strong="H1818" that thou hast shed|strong="H8210"; and hast defiled|strong="H2930" thyself in thine idols|strong="H1544" which thou hast made|strong="H6213"; and thou hast caused thy days|strong="H3117" to draw near|strong="H7126", and art come|strong="H0935" even unto thy years|strong="H8141": therefore have I made|strong="H5414" thee a reproach|strong="H2781" unto the heathen|strong="H1471", and a mocking|strong="H7048" to all countries|strong="H0776".

Those that be near|strong="H7138", and those that be far|strong="H7350" from thee, shall mock|strong="H7046" thee, which art infamous|strong="H2931" and much|strong="H7227" vexed|strong="H4103".

Behold, the princes|strong="H5387" of Israel|strong="H3478", every one|strong="H0376" were in thee to their power|strong="H2220" to shed|strong="H8210" blood|strong="H1818".

In thee have they set light|strong="H7043" by father|strong="H0001" and mother|strong="H0517": in the midst|strong="H8432" of thee have they dealt|strong="H6213" by oppression|strong="H6233" with the stranger|strong="H1616": in thee have they vexed|strong="H3238" the fatherless|strong="H3490" and the widow|strong="H0490".

Thou hast despised|strong="H0959" mine holy things|strong="H6944", and hast profaned|strong="H2490" my sabbaths|strong="H7676".

In thee are men|strong="H0582" that carry tales|strong="H7400" to shed|strong="H8210" blood|strong="H1818": and in thee they eat|strong="H0398" upon the mountains|strong="H2022": in the midst|strong="H8432" of thee they commit|strong="H6213" lewdness|strong="H2154".

In thee have they discovered|strong="H1540" their fathers’|strong="H0001" nakedness|strong="H6172": in thee have they humbled|strong="H6031" her that was set apart|strong="H5079" for pollution|strong="H2931".

And one|strong="H0376" hath committed|strong="H6213" abomination|strong="H8441" with his neighbour’s|strong="H7453" wife|strong="H0802"; and another|strong="H0376" hath lewdly|strong="H2154" defiled|strong="H2930" his daughter in law|strong="H3618"; and another|strong="H0376" in thee hath humbled|strong="H6031" his sister|strong="H0269", his father’s|strong="H0001" daughter|strong="H1323".

In thee have they taken|strong="H3947" gifts|strong="H7810" to shed|strong="H8210" blood|strong="H1818"; thou hast taken|strong="H3947" usury|strong="H5392" and increase|strong="H8636", and thou hast greedily gained|strong="H1214" of thy neighbours|strong="H7453" by extortion|strong="H6233", and hast forgotten|strong="H7911" me, saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*.

Behold, therefore I have smitten|strong="H5221" mine hand|strong="H3709" at thy dishonest gain|strong="H1215" which thou hast made|strong="H6213", and at thy blood|strong="H1818" which hath been in the midst|strong="H8432" of thee.

Can thine heart|strong="H3820" endure|strong="H5975", or can thine hands|strong="H3027" be strong|strong="H2388", in the days|strong="H3117" that I shall deal|strong="H6213" with thee? I the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* have spoken|strong="H1696" it, and will do|strong="H6213" it.

And I will scatter|strong="H6327" thee among the heathen|strong="H1471", and disperse|strong="H2219" thee in the countries|strong="H0776", and will consume|strong="H8552" thy filthiness|strong="H2932" out of thee.

And thou shalt take thine inheritance|strong="H2490" in thyself in the sight|strong="H5869" of the heathen|strong="H1471", and thou shalt know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559",

Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478" is to me become dross|strong="H5509": all they are brass|strong="H5178", and tin|strong="H0913", and iron|strong="H1270", and lead|strong="H5777", in the midst|strong="H8432" of the furnace|strong="H3564"; they are even the dross|strong="H5509" of silver|strong="H3701".

Therefore thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; Because ye are all become dross|strong="H5509", behold, therefore I will gather|strong="H6908" you into the midst|strong="H8432" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389".

As they gather|strong="H6910" silver|strong="H3701", and brass|strong="H5178", and iron|strong="H1270", and lead|strong="H5777", and tin|strong="H0913", into the midst|strong="H8432" of the furnace|strong="H3564", to blow|strong="H5301" the fire|strong="H0784" upon it, to melt|strong="H5413" it; so will I gather|strong="H6908" you in mine anger|strong="H0639" and in my fury|strong="H2534", and I will leave|strong="H3240" you there, and melt|strong="H5413" you.

Yea, I will gather|strong="H3664" you, and blow|strong="H5301" upon you in the fire|strong="H0784" of my wrath|strong="H5678", and ye shall be melted|strong="H5413" in the midst|strong="H8432" thereof.

As silver|strong="H3701" is melted|strong="H2046" in the midst|strong="H8432" of the furnace|strong="H3564", so shall ye be melted|strong="H5413" in the midst|strong="H8432" thereof; and ye shall know|strong="H3045" that I the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* have poured out|strong="H8210" my fury|strong="H2534" upon you.

And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559",

Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", say|strong="H0559" unto her, Thou art the land|strong="H0776" that is not cleansed|strong="H2891", nor rained|strong="H1656" upon in the day|strong="H3117" of indignation|strong="H2195".

There is a conspiracy|strong="H7195" of her prophets|strong="H5030" in the midst|strong="H8432" thereof, like a roaring|strong="H7580" lion|strong="H0738" ravening|strong="H2963" the prey|strong="H2964"; they have devoured|strong="H0398" souls|strong="H5315"; they have taken|strong="H3947" the treasure|strong="H2633" and precious things|strong="H3366"; they have made her many|strong="H7235" widows|strong="H0490" in the midst|strong="H8432" thereof.

Her priests|strong="H3548" have violated|strong="H2554" my law|strong="H8451", and have profaned|strong="H2490" mine holy things|strong="H6944": they have put no difference|strong="H0914" between the holy|strong="H6944" and profane|strong="H2455", neither have they shewed|strong="H3045" difference between the unclean|strong="H2931" and the clean|strong="H2889", and have hid|strong="H5956" their eyes|strong="H5869" from my sabbaths|strong="H7676", and I am profaned|strong="H2490" among|strong="H8432" them.

Her princes|strong="H8269" in the midst|strong="H7130" thereof are like wolves|strong="H2061" ravening|strong="H2963" the prey|strong="H2964", to shed|strong="H8210" blood|strong="H1818", and to destroy|strong="H0006" souls|strong="H5315", to get|strong="H1214" dishonest gain|strong="H1215".

And her prophets|strong="H5030" have daubed|strong="H2902" them with untempered|strong="H8602" morter, seeing|strong="H2374" vanity|strong="H7723", and divining|strong="H7080" lies|strong="H3577" unto them, saying|strong="H0559", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, when the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath not spoken|strong="H1696".

The people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776" have used oppression|strong="H6231", and exercised|strong="H1497" robbery|strong="H1498", and have vexed|strong="H3238" the poor|strong="H6041" and needy|strong="H0034": yea, they have oppressed|strong="H6231" the stranger|strong="H1616" wrongfully|strong="H4941".

And I sought|strong="H1245" for a man|strong="H0376" among them, that should make up|strong="H1443" the hedge|strong="H1447", and stand|strong="H5975" in the gap|strong="H6556" before|strong="H6440" me for the land|strong="H0776", that I should not destroy|strong="H7843" it: but I found|strong="H4672" none.

Therefore have I poured out|strong="H8210" mine indignation|strong="H2195" upon them; I have consumed|strong="H3615" them with the fire|strong="H0784" of my wrath|strong="H5678": their own way|strong="H1870" have I recompensed|strong="H5414" upon their heads|strong="H7218", saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*.
