1 And it came to pass in the seventh|strong="H7637" year|strong="H8141", in the fifth|strong="H2549" month, the tenth|strong="H6218" day of the month|strong="H2320", that certain|strong="H0582" of the elders|strong="H2205" of Israel|strong="H3478" came|strong="H0935" to enquire|strong="H1875" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and sat|strong="H3427" before|strong="H6440" me.
2 Then came the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* unto me, saying|strong="H0559",
3 Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", speak|strong="H1696" unto the elders|strong="H2205" of Israel|strong="H3478", and say|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; Are ye come|strong="H0935" to enquire|strong="H1875" of me? As I live|strong="H2416", saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, I will not be enquired|strong="H1875" of by you.
4 Wilt thou judge|strong="H8199" them, son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", wilt thou judge|strong="H8199" them? cause them to know|strong="H3045" the abominations|strong="H8441" of their fathers|strong="H0001":
5 And say|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; In the day|strong="H3117" when I chose|strong="H0977" Israel|strong="H3478", and lifted up|strong="H5375" mine hand|strong="H3027" unto the seed|strong="H2233" of the house|strong="H1004" of Jacob|strong="H3290", and made myself known|strong="H3045" unto them in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", when I lifted|strong="H5375" up mine hand|strong="H3027" unto them, saying|strong="H0559", I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430";
6 In the day|strong="H3117" that I lifted up|strong="H5375" mine hand|strong="H3027" unto them, to bring them forth|strong="H3318" of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" into a land|strong="H0776" that I had espied|strong="H8446" for them, flowing|strong="H2100" with milk|strong="H2461" and honey|strong="H1706", which is the glory|strong="H6643" of all lands|strong="H0776":
7 Then said|strong="H0559" I unto them, Cast ye away|strong="H7993" every man|strong="H0376" the abominations|strong="H8251" of his eyes|strong="H5869", and defile|strong="H2930" not yourselves with the idols|strong="H1544" of Egypt|strong="H4714": I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430".
8 But they rebelled|strong="H4784" against me, and would|strong="H0014" not hearken|strong="H8085" unto me: they did not every man|strong="H0376" cast away|strong="H7993" the abominations|strong="H8251" of their eyes|strong="H5869", neither did they forsake|strong="H5800" the idols|strong="H1544" of Egypt|strong="H4714": then I said|strong="H0559", I will pour out|strong="H8210" my fury|strong="H2534" upon them, to accomplish|strong="H3615" my anger|strong="H0639" against them in the midst|strong="H8432" of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
9 But I wrought|strong="H6213" for my name’s|strong="H8034" sake, that it should not be polluted|strong="H2490" before|strong="H5869" the heathen|strong="H1471", among|strong="H8432" whom they were, in whose sight|strong="H5869" I made myself known|strong="H3045" unto them, in bringing them forth|strong="H3318" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
10 Wherefore I caused them to go forth|strong="H3318" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and brought|strong="H0935" them into the wilderness|strong="H4057".
11 And I gave|strong="H5414" them my statutes|strong="H2708", and shewed|strong="H3045" them my judgments|strong="H4941", which if a man|strong="H0120" do|strong="H6213", he shall even live|strong="H2425" in them.
12 Moreover also I gave|strong="H5414" them my sabbaths|strong="H7676", to be a sign|strong="H0226" between me and them, that they might know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* that sanctify|strong="H6942" them.
13 But the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478" rebelled|strong="H4784" against me in the wilderness|strong="H4057": they walked|strong="H1980" not in my statutes|strong="H2708", and they despised|strong="H3988" my judgments|strong="H4941", which if a man|strong="H0120" do|strong="H6213", he shall even live|strong="H2425" in them; and my sabbaths|strong="H7676" they greatly|strong="H3966" polluted|strong="H2490": then I said|strong="H0559", I would pour out|strong="H8210" my fury|strong="H2534" upon them in the wilderness|strong="H4057", to consume|strong="H3615" them.
14 But I wrought|strong="H6213" for my name’s|strong="H8034" sake, that it should not be polluted|strong="H2490" before|strong="H5869" the heathen|strong="H1471", in whose sight|strong="H5869" I brought them out|strong="H3318".
15 Yet also I lifted up|strong="H5375" my hand|strong="H3027" unto them in the wilderness|strong="H4057", that I would not bring|strong="H0935" them into the land|strong="H0776" which I had given|strong="H5414" them, flowing|strong="H2100" with milk|strong="H2461" and honey|strong="H1706", which is the glory|strong="H6643" of all lands|strong="H0776";
16 Because they despised|strong="H3988" my judgments|strong="H4941", and walked|strong="H1980" not in my statutes|strong="H2708", but polluted|strong="H2490" my sabbaths|strong="H7676": for their heart|strong="H3820" went|strong="H1980" after|strong="H0310" their idols|strong="H1544".
17 Nevertheless mine eye|strong="H5869" spared|strong="H2347" them from destroying|strong="H7843" them, neither did I make|strong="H6213" an end|strong="H3617" of them in the wilderness|strong="H4057".
18 But I said|strong="H0559" unto their children|strong="H1121" in the wilderness|strong="H4057", Walk|strong="H3212" ye not in the statutes|strong="H2706" of your fathers|strong="H0001", neither observe|strong="H8104" their judgments|strong="H4941", nor defile|strong="H2930" yourselves with their idols|strong="H1544":
19 I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430"; walk|strong="H3212" in my statutes|strong="H2708", and keep|strong="H8104" my judgments|strong="H4941", and do|strong="H6213" them;
20 And hallow|strong="H6942" my sabbaths|strong="H7676"; and they shall be a sign|strong="H0226" between me and you, that ye may know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430".
21 Notwithstanding the children|strong="H1121" rebelled|strong="H4784" against me: they walked|strong="H1980" not in my statutes|strong="H2708", neither kept|strong="H8104" my judgments|strong="H4941" to do|strong="H6213" them, which if a man|strong="H0120" do|strong="H6213", he shall even live|strong="H2425" in them; they polluted|strong="H2490" my sabbaths|strong="H7676": then I said|strong="H0559", I would pour out|strong="H8210" my fury|strong="H2534" upon them, to accomplish|strong="H3615" my anger|strong="H0639" against them in the wilderness|strong="H4057".
22 Nevertheless I withdrew|strong="H7725" mine hand|strong="H3027", and wrought|strong="H6213" for my name’s|strong="H8034" sake, that it should not be polluted|strong="H2490" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the heathen|strong="H1471", in whose sight|strong="H5869" I brought them forth|strong="H3318".
23 I lifted up|strong="H5375" mine hand|strong="H3027" unto them also in the wilderness|strong="H4057", that I would scatter|strong="H6327" them among the heathen|strong="H1471", and disperse|strong="H2219" them through the countries|strong="H0776";
24 Because they had not executed|strong="H6213" my judgments|strong="H4941", but had despised|strong="H3988" my statutes|strong="H2708", and had polluted|strong="H2490" my sabbaths|strong="H7676", and their eyes|strong="H5869" were after|strong="H0310" their fathers’|strong="H0001" idols|strong="H1544".
25 Wherefore I gave|strong="H5414" them also statutes|strong="H2706" that were not good|strong="H2896", and judgments|strong="H4941" whereby they should not live|strong="H2421";
26 And I polluted|strong="H2930" them in their own gifts|strong="H4979", in that they caused to pass through|strong="H5674" the fire all that openeth|strong="H6363" the womb|strong="H7356", that I might make them desolate|strong="H8074", to the end that they might know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
27 Therefore, son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", speak|strong="H1696" unto the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", and say|strong="H0559" unto them, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; Yet in this your fathers|strong="H0001" have blasphemed|strong="H1442" me, in that they have committed|strong="H4603" a trespass|strong="H4604" against me.
28 For when I had brought|strong="H0935" them into the land|strong="H0776", for the which I lifted up|strong="H5375" mine hand|strong="H3027" to give|strong="H5414" it to them, then they saw|strong="H7200" every high|strong="H7311" hill|strong="H1389", and all the thick|strong="H5687" trees|strong="H6086", and they offered|strong="H2076" there their sacrifices|strong="H2077", and there they presented|strong="H5414" the provocation|strong="H3708" of their offering|strong="H7133": there also they made|strong="H7760" their sweet|strong="H5207" savour|strong="H7381", and poured out|strong="H5258" there their drink offerings|strong="H5262".
29 Then I said|strong="H0559" unto them, What is the high place|strong="H1116" whereunto ye go|strong="H0935"? And the name|strong="H8034" thereof is called|strong="H7121" Bamah|strong="H1117" unto this day|strong="H3117".
30 Wherefore say|strong="H0559" unto the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; Are ye polluted|strong="H2930" after the manner|strong="H1870" of your fathers|strong="H0001"? and commit ye whoredom|strong="H2181" after|strong="H0310" their abominations|strong="H8251"?
31 For when ye offer|strong="H5375" your gifts|strong="H4979", when ye make your sons|strong="H1121" to pass through|strong="H5674" the fire|strong="H0784", ye pollute|strong="H2930" yourselves with all your idols|strong="H1544", even unto this day|strong="H3117": and shall I be enquired|strong="H1875" of by you, O house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478"? As I live|strong="H2416", saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, I will not be enquired|strong="H1875" of by you.
32 And that which cometh|strong="H5927" into your mind|strong="H7307" shall not be at all, that ye say|strong="H0559", We will be|strong="H1961" as the heathen|strong="H1471", as the families|strong="H4940" of the countries|strong="H0776", to serve|strong="H8334" wood|strong="H6086" and stone|strong="H0068".
33 As I live|strong="H2416", saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, surely with a mighty|strong="H2389" hand|strong="H3027", and with a stretched out|strong="H5186" arm|strong="H2220", and with fury|strong="H2534" poured out|strong="H8210", will I rule|strong="H4427" over you:
34 And I will bring you out|strong="H3318" from the people|strong="H5971", and will gather|strong="H6908" you out of the countries|strong="H0776" wherein ye are scattered|strong="H6327", with a mighty|strong="H2389" hand|strong="H3027", and with a stretched out|strong="H5186" arm|strong="H2220", and with fury|strong="H2534" poured out|strong="H8210".
35 And I will bring|strong="H0935" you into the wilderness|strong="H4057" of the people|strong="H5971", and there will I plead|strong="H8199" with you face|strong="H6440" to face|strong="H6440".
36 Like as I pleaded|strong="H8199" with your fathers|strong="H0001" in the wilderness|strong="H4057" of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", so will I plead|strong="H8199" with you, saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*.
37 And I will cause you to pass|strong="H5674" under the rod|strong="H7626", and I will bring|strong="H0935" you into the bond|strong="H4562" of the covenant|strong="H1285":
38 And I will purge out|strong="H1305" from among you the rebels|strong="H4775", and them that transgress|strong="H6586" against me: I will bring them forth|strong="H3318" out of the country|strong="H0776" where they sojourn|strong="H4033", and they shall not enter|strong="H0935" into the land|strong="H0127" of Israel|strong="H3478": and ye shall know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
39 As for you, O house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; Go|strong="H3212" ye, serve|strong="H5647" ye every one|strong="H0376" his idols|strong="H1544", and hereafter|strong="H0310" also, if ye will not hearken|strong="H8085" unto me: but pollute|strong="H2490" ye my holy|strong="H6944" name|strong="H8034" no more with your gifts|strong="H4979", and with your idols|strong="H1544".
40 For in mine holy|strong="H6944" mountain|strong="H2022", in the mountain|strong="H2022" of the height|strong="H4791" of Israel|strong="H3478", saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, there shall all the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", all of them in the land|strong="H0776", serve|strong="H5647" me: there will I accept|strong="H7521" them, and there will I require|strong="H1875" your offerings|strong="H8641", and the firstfruits|strong="H7225" of your oblations|strong="H4864", with all your holy things|strong="H6944".
41 I will accept|strong="H7521" you with your sweet|strong="H5207" savour|strong="H7381", when I bring you out|strong="H3318" from the people|strong="H5971", and gather|strong="H6908" you out of the countries|strong="H0776" wherein ye have been scattered|strong="H6327"; and I will be sanctified|strong="H6942" in you before|strong="H5869" the heathen|strong="H1471".
42 And ye shall know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, when I shall bring|strong="H0935" you into the land|strong="H0127" of Israel|strong="H3478", into the country|strong="H0776" for the which I lifted up|strong="H5375" mine hand|strong="H3027" to give|strong="H5414" it to your fathers|strong="H0001".
43 And there shall ye remember|strong="H2142" your ways|strong="H1870", and all your doings|strong="H5949", wherein ye have been defiled|strong="H2930"; and ye shall lothe|strong="H6962" yourselves in your own sight|strong="H6440" for all your evils|strong="H7451" that ye have committed|strong="H6213".
44 And ye shall know|strong="H3045" that I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, when I have wrought|strong="H6213" with you for my name’s|strong="H8034" sake, not according to your wicked|strong="H7451" ways|strong="H1870", nor according to your corrupt|strong="H7843" doings|strong="H5949", O ye house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*.
45 Moreover the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559",
46 Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", set|strong="H7760" thy face|strong="H6440" toward|strong="H1870" the south|strong="H8486", and drop|strong="H5197" thy word toward the south|strong="H1864", and prophesy|strong="H5012" against the forest|strong="H3293" of the south|strong="H5045" field|strong="H7704";
47 And say|strong="H0559" to the forest|strong="H3293" of the south|strong="H5045", Hear|strong="H8085" the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; Thus saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*; Behold, I will kindle|strong="H3341" a fire|strong="H0784" in thee, and it shall devour|strong="H0398" every green|strong="H3892" tree|strong="H6086" in thee, and every dry|strong="H3002" tree|strong="H6086": the flaming|strong="H3852" flame|strong="H7957" shall not be quenched|strong="H3518", and all faces|strong="H6440" from the south|strong="H5045" to the north|strong="H6828" shall be burned|strong="H6866" therein.
48 And all flesh|strong="H1320" shall see|strong="H7200" that I the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* have kindled|strong="H1197" it: it shall not be quenched|strong="H3518".
49 Then said|strong="H0559" I, Ah|strong="H0162" Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*! they say|strong="H0559" of me, Doth he not speak|strong="H4911" parables|strong="H4912"?
