On that night|strong="H3915" could not|strong="H5074" the king|strong="H4428" sleep|strong="H8142", and he commanded|strong="H0559" to bring|strong="H0935" the book|strong="H5612" of records|strong="H2146" of the chronicles|strong="H1697"; and they were read|strong="H7121" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428".
And it was found|strong="H4672" written|strong="H3789", that Mordecai|strong="H4782" had told|strong="H5046" of Bigthana|strong="H0904" and Teresh|strong="H8657", two|strong="H8147" of the king’s|strong="H4428" chamberlains|strong="H5631", the keepers|strong="H8104" of the door|strong="H5592", who sought|strong="H1245" to lay|strong="H7971" hand|strong="H3027" on the king|strong="H4428" Ahasuerus|strong="H0325".
And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559", What honour|strong="H3366" and dignity|strong="H1420" hath been done|strong="H6213" to Mordecai|strong="H4782" for this? Then said|strong="H0559" the king’s|strong="H4428" servants|strong="H5288" that ministered|strong="H8334" unto him, There is nothing|strong="H1697" done|strong="H6213" for him.
And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559", Who is in the court|strong="H2691"? Now Haman|strong="H2001" was come|strong="H0935" into the outward|strong="H2435" court|strong="H2691" of the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", to speak|strong="H0559" unto the king|strong="H4428" to hang|strong="H8518" Mordecai|strong="H4782" on the gallows|strong="H6086" that he had prepared|strong="H3559" for him.
And the king’s|strong="H4428" servants|strong="H5288" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Behold, Haman|strong="H2001" standeth|strong="H5975" in the court|strong="H2691". And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559", Let him come in|strong="H0935".
So Haman|strong="H2001" came in|strong="H0935". And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" unto him, What shall be done|strong="H6213" unto the man|strong="H0376" whom the king|strong="H4428" delighteth|strong="H2654" to honour|strong="H3366"? Now Haman|strong="H2001" thought|strong="H0559" in his heart|strong="H3820", To whom would the king|strong="H4428" delight|strong="H2654" to do|strong="H6213" honour|strong="H3366" more|strong="H3148" than to myself?
And Haman|strong="H2001" answered|strong="H0559" the king|strong="H4428", For the man|strong="H0376" whom the king|strong="H4428" delighteth|strong="H2654" to honour|strong="H3366",
Let the royal|strong="H4438" apparel|strong="H3830" be brought|strong="H0935" which the king|strong="H4428" useth to wear|strong="H3847", and the horse|strong="H5483" that the king|strong="H4428" rideth|strong="H7392" upon, and the crown|strong="H3804" royal|strong="H4438" which is set|strong="H5414" upon his head|strong="H7218":
And let this apparel|strong="H3830" and horse|strong="H5483" be delivered|strong="H5414" to the hand|strong="H3027" of one|strong="H0376" of the king’s|strong="H4428" most noble|strong="H6579" princes|strong="H8269", that they may array|strong="H3847" the man|strong="H0376" withal whom the king|strong="H4428" delighteth|strong="H2654" to honour|strong="H3366", and bring|strong="H7392" him on horseback|strong="H5483" through the street|strong="H7339" of the city|strong="H5892", and proclaim|strong="H7121" before|strong="H6440" him, Thus shall it be done|strong="H6213" to the man|strong="H0376" whom the king|strong="H4428" delighteth|strong="H2654" to honour|strong="H3366".
Then the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" to Haman|strong="H2001", Make haste|strong="H4116", and take|strong="H3947" the apparel|strong="H3830" and the horse|strong="H5483", as thou hast said|strong="H1696", and do|strong="H6213" even so to Mordecai|strong="H4782" the Jew|strong="H3064", that sitteth|strong="H3427" at the king’s|strong="H4428" gate|strong="H8179": let nothing|strong="H1697" fail|strong="H5307" of all that thou hast spoken|strong="H1696".
Then took|strong="H3947" Haman|strong="H2001" the apparel|strong="H3830" and the horse|strong="H5483", and arrayed|strong="H3847" Mordecai|strong="H4782", and brought him on horseback|strong="H7392" through the street|strong="H7339" of the city|strong="H5892", and proclaimed|strong="H7121" before|strong="H6440" him, Thus shall it be done|strong="H6213" unto the man|strong="H0376" whom the king|strong="H4428" delighteth|strong="H2654" to honour|strong="H3366".
And Mordecai|strong="H4782" came again|strong="H7725" to the king’s|strong="H4428" gate|strong="H8179". But Haman|strong="H2001" hasted|strong="H1765" to his house|strong="H1004" mourning|strong="H0057", and having his head|strong="H7218" covered|strong="H2645".
And Haman|strong="H2001" told|strong="H5608" Zeresh|strong="H2238" his wife|strong="H0802" and all his friends|strong="H0157" every thing that had befallen|strong="H7136" him. Then said|strong="H0559" his wise men|strong="H2450" and Zeresh|strong="H2238" his wife|strong="H0802" unto him, If Mordecai|strong="H4782" be of the seed|strong="H2233" of the Jews|strong="H3064", before|strong="H6440" whom thou hast begun|strong="H2490" to fall|strong="H5307", thou shalt not prevail|strong="H3201" against him, but shalt surely|strong="H5307" fall|strong="H5307" before|strong="H6440" him.
And while they were yet talking|strong="H1696" with him, came|strong="H5060" the king’s|strong="H4428" chamberlains|strong="H5631", and hasted|strong="H0926" to bring|strong="H0935" Haman|strong="H2001" unto the banquet|strong="H4960" that Esther|strong="H0635" had prepared|strong="H6213".
