1 So the king|strong="H4428" and Haman|strong="H2001" came|strong="H0935" to banquet|strong="H8354" with Esther|strong="H0635" the queen|strong="H4436".
2 And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" again unto Esther|strong="H0635" on the second|strong="H8145" day|strong="H3117" at the banquet|strong="H4960" of wine|strong="H3196", What is thy petition|strong="H7596", queen|strong="H4436" Esther|strong="H0635"? and it shall be granted|strong="H5414" thee: and what is thy request|strong="H1246"? and it shall be performed|strong="H6213", even to the half|strong="H2677" of the kingdom|strong="H4438".
3 Then Esther|strong="H0635" the queen|strong="H4436" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559", If I have found|strong="H4672" favour|strong="H2580" in thy sight|strong="H5869", O king|strong="H4428", and if it please|strong="H2895" the king|strong="H4428", let my life|strong="H5315" be given|strong="H5414" me at my petition|strong="H7596", and my people|strong="H5971" at my request|strong="H1246":
4 For we are sold|strong="H4376", I and my people|strong="H5971", to be destroyed|strong="H8045", to be slain|strong="H2026", and to perish|strong="H0006". But if|strong="H0432" we had been sold|strong="H4376" for bondmen|strong="H5650" and bondwomen|strong="H8198", I had held my tongue|strong="H2790", although the enemy|strong="H6862" could not countervail|strong="H7737" the king’s|strong="H4428" damage|strong="H5143".
5 Then the king|strong="H4428" Ahasuerus|strong="H0325" answered|strong="H0559" and said|strong="H0559" unto Esther|strong="H0635" the queen|strong="H4436", Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume|strong="H4390" in his heart|strong="H3820" to do|strong="H6213" so?
6 And Esther|strong="H0635" said|strong="H0559", The adversary|strong="H0376" and enemy|strong="H0341" is this wicked|strong="H7451" Haman|strong="H2001". Then Haman|strong="H2001" was afraid|strong="H1204" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428" and the queen|strong="H4436".
7 And the king|strong="H4428" arising|strong="H6965" from the banquet|strong="H4960" of wine|strong="H3196" in his wrath|strong="H2534" went into the palace|strong="H1055" garden|strong="H1594": and Haman|strong="H2001" stood up|strong="H5975" to make request|strong="H1245" for his life|strong="H5315" to Esther|strong="H0635" the queen|strong="H4436"; for he saw|strong="H7200" that there was evil|strong="H7451" determined|strong="H3615" against him by the king|strong="H4428".
8 Then the king|strong="H4428" returned|strong="H7725" out of the palace|strong="H1055" garden|strong="H1594" into the place|strong="H1004" of the banquet|strong="H4960" of wine|strong="H3196"; and Haman|strong="H2001" was fallen|strong="H5307" upon the bed|strong="H4296" whereon Esther|strong="H0635" was. Then said|strong="H0559" the king|strong="H4428", Will he force|strong="H3533" the queen|strong="H4436" also before me in the house|strong="H1004"? As the word|strong="H1697" went out|strong="H3318" of the king’s|strong="H4428" mouth|strong="H6310", they covered|strong="H2645" Haman’s|strong="H2001" face|strong="H6440".
9 And Harbonah|strong="H2726", one|strong="H0259" of the chamberlains|strong="H5631", said|strong="H0559" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428", Behold also, the gallows|strong="H6086" fifty|strong="H2572" cubits|strong="H0520" high|strong="H1364", which Haman|strong="H2001" had made|strong="H6213" for Mordecai|strong="H4782", who had spoken|strong="H1696" good|strong="H2896" for the king|strong="H4428", standeth|strong="H5975" in the house|strong="H1004" of Haman|strong="H2001". Then the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559", Hang|strong="H8518" him thereon.
10 So they hanged|strong="H8518" Haman|strong="H2001" on the gallows|strong="H6086" that he had prepared|strong="H3559" for Mordecai|strong="H4782". Then was the king’s|strong="H4428" wrath|strong="H2534" pacified|strong="H7918".
