Now it came to pass on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117", that Esther|strong="H0635" put on|strong="H3847" her royal|strong="H4438" apparel, and stood|strong="H5975" in the inner|strong="H6442" court|strong="H2691" of the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", over against|strong="H5227" the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004": and the king|strong="H4428" sat|strong="H3427" upon his royal|strong="H4438" throne|strong="H3678" in the royal|strong="H4438" house|strong="H1004", over against|strong="H5227" the gate|strong="H6607" of the house|strong="H1004".
And it was so, when the king|strong="H4428" saw|strong="H7200" Esther|strong="H0635" the queen|strong="H4436" standing|strong="H5975" in the court|strong="H2691", that she obtained|strong="H5375" favour|strong="H2580" in his sight|strong="H5869": and the king|strong="H4428" held out|strong="H3447" to Esther|strong="H0635" the golden|strong="H2091" sceptre|strong="H8275" that was in his hand|strong="H3027". So Esther|strong="H0635" drew near|strong="H7126", and touched|strong="H5060" the top|strong="H7218" of the sceptre|strong="H8275".
Then said|strong="H0559" the king|strong="H4428" unto her, What wilt thou, queen|strong="H4436" Esther|strong="H0635"? and what is thy request|strong="H1246"? it shall be even given|strong="H5414" thee to the half|strong="H2677" of the kingdom|strong="H4438".
And Esther|strong="H0635" answered|strong="H0559", If it seem good|strong="H2895" unto the king|strong="H4428", let the king|strong="H4428" and Haman|strong="H2001" come|strong="H0935" this day|strong="H3117" unto the banquet|strong="H4960" that I have prepared|strong="H6213" for him.
Then the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559", Cause Haman|strong="H2001" to make haste|strong="H4116", that he may do|strong="H6213" as Esther|strong="H0635" hath said|strong="H1697". So the king|strong="H4428" and Haman|strong="H2001" came|strong="H0935" to the banquet|strong="H4960" that Esther|strong="H0635" had prepared|strong="H6213".
And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" unto Esther|strong="H0635" at the banquet|strong="H4960" of wine|strong="H3196", What is thy petition|strong="H7596"? and it shall be granted|strong="H5414" thee: and what is thy request|strong="H1246"? even to the half|strong="H2677" of the kingdom|strong="H4438" it shall be performed|strong="H6213".
Then answered|strong="H6030" Esther|strong="H0635", and said|strong="H0559", My petition|strong="H7596" and my request|strong="H1246" is;
If I have found|strong="H4672" favour|strong="H2580" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the king|strong="H4428", and if it please|strong="H2895" the king|strong="H4428" to grant|strong="H5414" my petition|strong="H7596", and to perform|strong="H6213" my request|strong="H1246", let the king|strong="H4428" and Haman|strong="H2001" come|strong="H0935" to the banquet|strong="H4960" that I shall prepare|strong="H6213" for them, and I will do|strong="H6213" to morrow|strong="H4279" as the king|strong="H4428" hath said|strong="H1697".
Then went|strong="H3318" Haman|strong="H2001" forth|strong="H3318" that day|strong="H3117" joyful|strong="H8056" and with a glad|strong="H2896" heart|strong="H3820": but when Haman|strong="H2001" saw|strong="H7200" Mordecai|strong="H4782" in the king’s|strong="H4428" gate|strong="H8179", that he stood not up|strong="H6965", nor moved|strong="H2111" for him, he|strong="H2001" was full|strong="H4390" of indignation|strong="H2534" against Mordecai|strong="H4782".
Nevertheless Haman|strong="H2001" refrained|strong="H0662" himself: and when he came|strong="H0935" home|strong="H1004", he sent|strong="H7971" and called|strong="H0935" for his friends|strong="H0157", and Zeresh|strong="H2238" his wife|strong="H0802".
And Haman|strong="H2001" told|strong="H5608" them of the glory|strong="H3519" of his riches|strong="H6239", and the multitude|strong="H7230" of his children|strong="H1121", and all the things wherein the king|strong="H4428" had promoted|strong="H1431" him, and how he had advanced|strong="H5375" him above the princes|strong="H8269" and servants|strong="H5650" of the king|strong="H4428".
Haman|strong="H2001" said|strong="H0559" moreover, Yea, Esther|strong="H0635" the queen|strong="H4436" did let no man come in|strong="H0935" with the king|strong="H4428" unto the banquet|strong="H4960" that she had prepared|strong="H6213" but myself; and to morrow|strong="H4279" am I invited|strong="H7121" unto her also with the king|strong="H4428".
Yet all this availeth|strong="H7737" me nothing, so long as|strong="H6256" I see|strong="H7200" Mordecai|strong="H4782" the Jew|strong="H3064" sitting|strong="H3427" at the king’s|strong="H4428" gate|strong="H8179".
Then said|strong="H0559" Zeresh|strong="H2238" his wife|strong="H0802" and all his friends|strong="H0157" unto him, Let a gallows|strong="H6086" be made|strong="H6213" of fifty|strong="H2572" cubits|strong="H0520" high|strong="H1364", and to morrow|strong="H1242" speak|strong="H0559" thou unto the king|strong="H4428" that Mordecai|strong="H4782" may be hanged|strong="H8518" thereon: then go|strong="H0935" thou in merrily|strong="H8056" with the king|strong="H4428" unto the banquet|strong="H4960". And the thing|strong="H1697" pleased|strong="H3190" Haman|strong="H2001"; and he caused|strong="H6213" the gallows|strong="H6086" to be made|strong="H6213".
