And|strong="G1161" at|strong="G1722" that|strong="G1565" time|strong="G2250" there was|strong="G1096" a great|strong="G3173" persecution|strong="G1375" against|strong="G1909" the church|strong="G1577" which was|strong="G3588" at|strong="G1722" Jerusalem|strong="G2414"; and|strong="G5037" they were|strong="G1289" all|strong="G3956" scattered abroad|strong="G1289" throughout|strong="G2596" the regions|strong="G5561" of Judæa|strong="G2449" and|strong="G2532" Samaria|strong="G4540", except|strong="G4133" the apostles|strong="G0652".
2 And|strong="G1161" devout|strong="G2126" men|strong="G0435" carried|strong="G4792" Stephen|strong="G4736" to his burial, and|strong="G2532" made|strong="G4160" great|strong="G3173" lamentation|strong="G2870" over|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846".
3 As|strong="G1161" for Saul|strong="G4569", he made havock|strong="G3075" of the church|strong="G1577", entering into|strong="G1531" every|strong="G2596" house|strong="G3624", and|strong="G5037" haling|strong="G4951" men|strong="G0435" and|strong="G2532" women|strong="G1135" committed|strong="G3860" them to|strong="G1519" prison|strong="G5438".
4 Therefore|strong="G3767" they|strong="G3588" that were scattered abroad|strong="G1289" went every where|strong="G1330" preaching|strong="G2097" the word|strong="G3056".
5 Then|strong="G1161" Philip|strong="G5376" went down|strong="G2718" to|strong="G1519" the city|strong="G4172" of Samaria|strong="G4540", and preached|strong="G2784" Christ|strong="G5547" unto them|strong="G0846".
6 And|strong="G5037" the people|strong="G3793" with|strong="G1722" one accord|strong="G3661" gave heed|strong="G4337" unto|strong="G5259" those things|strong="G3588" which|strong="G3004" Philip|strong="G5376" spake|strong="G3004", hearing|strong="G0191" and|strong="G2532" seeing|strong="G0991" the miracles|strong="G4592" which|strong="G3739" he did|strong="G4160".
7 For|strong="G1063" unclean|strong="G0169" spirits|strong="G4151", crying|strong="G0994" with loud|strong="G3173" voice|strong="G5456", came out|strong="G1831" of many|strong="G4183" that were possessed|strong="G2192" with them: and|strong="G1161" many|strong="G4183" taken with palsies|strong="G3886", and|strong="G2532" that were|strong="G2323" lame|strong="G5560", were healed|strong="G2323".
8 And|strong="G2532" there was|strong="G1096" great|strong="G3173" joy|strong="G5479" in|strong="G1722" that|strong="G1565" city|strong="G4172".
9 But there was|strong="G1161" a certain|strong="G5100" man|strong="G0435", called|strong="G3686" Simon|strong="G4613", which beforetime|strong="G4391" in|strong="G1722" the same city|strong="G4172" used sorcery|strong="G3096", and|strong="G2532" bewitched|strong="G1839" the people|strong="G1484" of Samaria|strong="G4540", giving out that|strong="G3004" himself|strong="G1438" was|strong="G1511" some|strong="G5100" great one|strong="G3173":
10 To whom|strong="G3739" they all|strong="G3956" gave heed|strong="G4337", from|strong="G0575" the least|strong="G3398" to|strong="G2193" the greatest|strong="G3173", saying|strong="G3004", This man|strong="G3778" is|strong="G2076" the great|strong="G3173" power|strong="G1411" of God|strong="G2316".
11 And|strong="G1161" to him|strong="G0846" they had regard|strong="G4337", because that|strong="G1223" of long|strong="G2425" time|strong="G5550" he had bewitched|strong="G1839" them|strong="G0846" with sorceries|strong="G3095".
12 But|strong="G1161" when|strong="G3753" they believed|strong="G4100" Philip|strong="G5376" preaching|strong="G2097" the things|strong="G3588" concerning|strong="G4012" the kingdom|strong="G0932" of God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" the name|strong="G3686" of Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547", they were baptized|strong="G0907", both|strong="G5037" men|strong="G0435" and|strong="G2532" women|strong="G1135".
13 Then|strong="G1161" Simon|strong="G4613" himself|strong="G0846" believed|strong="G4100" also|strong="G2532": and|strong="G2532" when he was|strong="G2258" baptized|strong="G0907", he continued|strong="G4342" with Philip|strong="G5376", and|strong="G5037" wondered|strong="G1839", beholding|strong="G2334" the miracles|strong="G1411" and|strong="G2532" signs|strong="G4592" which were done|strong="G1096".
14 Now when|strong="G1161" the apostles|strong="G0652" which were|strong="G3588" at|strong="G1722" Jerusalem|strong="G2414" heard|strong="G0191" that|strong="G3754" Samaria|strong="G4540" had received|strong="G1209" the word|strong="G3056" of God|strong="G2316", they sent|strong="G0649" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846" Peter|strong="G4074" and|strong="G2532" John|strong="G2491":
15 Who|strong="G3748", when they were come down|strong="G2597", prayed|strong="G4336" for|strong="G4012" them|strong="G0846", that|strong="G3704" they might receive|strong="G2983" the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151":

17 Then|strong="G5119" laid they|strong="G2007" their hands|strong="G5495" on|strong="G1909" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" they received|strong="G2983" the Holy|strong="G4151" Ghost|strong="G0040".
18 And|strong="G1161" when Simon|strong="G4613" saw|strong="G2300" that|strong="G3754" through|strong="G1223" laying on|strong="G1936" of the apostles’|strong="G0652" hands|strong="G5495" the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151" was given|strong="G1325", he offered|strong="G4374" them|strong="G0846" money|strong="G5536",
19 Saying|strong="G3004", Give me|strong="G1325" also|strong="G2504" this|strong="G3778" power|strong="G1849", that|strong="G2443" on whomsoever|strong="G3739" I lay|strong="G2007" hands|strong="G5495", he may receive|strong="G2983" the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151".
20 But|strong="G1161" Peter|strong="G4074" said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" him|strong="G0846", Thy|strong="G4675" money|strong="G0694" perish|strong="G0684" with|strong="G4862" thee|strong="G4671", because|strong="G3754" thou hast thought|strong="G3543" that|strong="G1223" the gift|strong="G1431" of God|strong="G2316" may be purchased|strong="G2932" with money|strong="G5536".
21 Thou|strong="G4671" hast|strong="G2076" neither|strong="G3756" part|strong="G3310" nor|strong="G3761" lot|strong="G2819" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G5129" matter|strong="G3056": for|strong="G1063" thy|strong="G4675" heart|strong="G2588" is|strong="G2076" not|strong="G3756" right|strong="G2117" in the sight of|strong="G1799" God|strong="G2316".
22 Repent|strong="G3340" therefore|strong="G3767" of|strong="G0575" this|strong="G3778" thy|strong="G4675" wickedness|strong="G2549", and|strong="G2532" pray|strong="G1189" God|strong="G2316", if|strong="G1487" perhaps|strong="G0686" the thought|strong="G1963" of thine|strong="G4675" heart|strong="G2588" may be forgiven|strong="G0863" thee|strong="G4671".
23 For|strong="G1063" I perceive|strong="G3708" that thou|strong="G4571" art|strong="G5607" in|strong="G1519" the gall|strong="G5521" of bitterness|strong="G4088", and|strong="G2532" in the bond|strong="G4886" of iniquity|strong="G0093".
24 Then|strong="G1161" answered|strong="G0611" Simon|strong="G4613", and said|strong="G2036", Pray|strong="G1189" ye|strong="G5210" to|strong="G4314" the Lord|strong="G2962" for|strong="G5228" me|strong="G1700", that|strong="G3704" none of these things|strong="G3367" which|strong="G3739" ye have spoken|strong="G2046" come|strong="G1904" upon|strong="G1909" me|strong="G1691".
25 And|strong="G3767" they|strong="G3588", when they had testified|strong="G1263" and|strong="G2532" preached|strong="G2980" the word|strong="G3056" of the Lord|strong="G2962", returned|strong="G5290" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2419", and|strong="G5037" preached the gospel|strong="G2097" in many|strong="G4183" villages|strong="G2968" of the Samaritans|strong="G4541".
26 And|strong="G1161" the angel|strong="G0032" of the Lord|strong="G2962" spake|strong="G2980" unto|strong="G4314" Philip|strong="G5376", saying|strong="G3004", Arise|strong="G0450", and|strong="G2532" go|strong="G4198" toward|strong="G2596" the south|strong="G3314" unto|strong="G1909" the way|strong="G3598" that|strong="G3588" goeth down|strong="G2597" from|strong="G0575" Jerusalem|strong="G2419" unto|strong="G1519" Gaza|strong="G1048", which|strong="G3778" is|strong="G2076" desert|strong="G2048".
27 And|strong="G2532" he arose|strong="G0450" and went|strong="G4198": and|strong="G2532", behold|strong="G2400", a man|strong="G0435" of Ethiopia|strong="G0128", an eunuch|strong="G2135" of great authority|strong="G1413" under Candace|strong="G2582" queen|strong="G0938" of the Ethiopians|strong="G0128", who|strong="G3739" had|strong="G2258" the charge of|strong="G1909" all|strong="G3956" her|strong="G0846" treasure|strong="G1047", and had come|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2419" for to worship|strong="G4352",
28 Was|strong="G2258" returning|strong="G5290", and|strong="G2532" sitting|strong="G2521" in|strong="G1909" his|strong="G0846" chariot|strong="G0716" read|strong="G0314" Esaias|strong="G2268" the prophet|strong="G4396".
29 Then|strong="G1161" the Spirit|strong="G4151" said|strong="G2036" unto Philip|strong="G5376", Go near|strong="G4334", and|strong="G2532" join thyself|strong="G2853" to this|strong="G5129" chariot|strong="G0716".
30 And|strong="G1161" Philip|strong="G5376" ran thither|strong="G4370" to him, and heard|strong="G0191" him|strong="G0846" read|strong="G0314" the prophet|strong="G4396" Esaias|strong="G2268", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036", Understandest thou|strong="G1097" what|strong="G3739" thou readest|strong="G0314"?
31 And|strong="G1161" he said|strong="G2036", How|strong="G4459" can I|strong="G1410", except|strong="G1437" some man|strong="G5100" should guide|strong="G3594" me|strong="G3165"? And|strong="G5037" he desired|strong="G3870" Philip|strong="G5376" that he would come up|strong="G0305" and sit|strong="G2523" with|strong="G4862" him|strong="G0846".
32 The place|strong="G4042" of the scripture|strong="G1124" which|strong="G3739" he read|strong="G0314" was|strong="G2258" this|strong="G3778", He was led|strong="G0071" as|strong="G5613" a sheep|strong="G4263" to|strong="G1909" the slaughter|strong="G4967"; and|strong="G2532" like|strong="G5613" a lamb|strong="G0286" dumb|strong="G0880" before|strong="G1726" his|strong="G0846" shearer|strong="G2751", so|strong="G3779" opened he|strong="G0455" not|strong="G3756" his|strong="G0846" mouth|strong="G4750":
33 In|strong="G1722" his|strong="G0846" humiliation|strong="G5014" his|strong="G0846" judgment|strong="G2920" was taken away|strong="G0142": and|strong="G1161" who|strong="G5101" shall declare|strong="G1334" his|strong="G0846" generation|strong="G1074"? for|strong="G3754" his|strong="G0846" life|strong="G2222" is taken|strong="G0142" from|strong="G0575" the earth|strong="G1093".
34 And|strong="G1161" the eunuch|strong="G2135" answered|strong="G0611" Philip|strong="G5376", and said|strong="G2036", I pray|strong="G1189" thee|strong="G4675", of|strong="G4012" whom|strong="G5101" speaketh|strong="G3004" the prophet|strong="G4396" this|strong="G5124"? of|strong="G4012" himself|strong="G1438", or|strong="G2228" of|strong="G4012" some|strong="G5100" other man|strong="G2087"?
35 Then|strong="G1161" Philip|strong="G5376" opened|strong="G0455" his|strong="G0846" mouth|strong="G4750", and|strong="G2532" began|strong="G0756" at|strong="G0575" the same|strong="G3778" scripture|strong="G1124", and preached|strong="G2097" unto him|strong="G0846" Jesus|strong="G2424".
36 And|strong="G1161" as|strong="G5613" they went|strong="G4198" on|strong="G2596" their way|strong="G3598", they came|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G1909" a certain|strong="G5100" water|strong="G5204": and|strong="G2532" the eunuch|strong="G2135" said|strong="G5346", See|strong="G2400", here is water|strong="G5204"; what|strong="G5101" doth hinder|strong="G2967" me|strong="G3165" to be baptized|strong="G0907"?
37 And|strong="G1161" Philip|strong="G5376" said|strong="G2036", If|strong="G1487" thou believest|strong="G4100" with|strong="G1537" all|strong="G3650" thine heart|strong="G2588", thou mayest|strong="G1832". And he answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G1161" said|strong="G2036", I believe|strong="G4100" that Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" is|strong="G1511" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316".
38 And|strong="G2532" he commanded|strong="G2753" the chariot|strong="G0716" to stand still|strong="G2476": and|strong="G2532" they went down|strong="G2597" both|strong="G0297" into|strong="G1519" the water|strong="G5204", both|strong="G5037" Philip|strong="G5376" and|strong="G2532" the eunuch|strong="G2135"; and|strong="G2532" he baptized|strong="G0907" him|strong="G0846".
39 And|strong="G1161" when|strong="G3753" they were come up|strong="G0305" out of|strong="G1537" the water|strong="G5204", the Spirit|strong="G4151" of the Lord|strong="G2962" caught away|strong="G0726" Philip|strong="G5376", that|strong="G2532" the eunuch|strong="G2135" saw|strong="G1492" him|strong="G0846" no more|strong="G3765": and|strong="G1063" he went|strong="G4198" on his|strong="G0846" way|strong="G3598" rejoicing|strong="G5463".
40 But|strong="G1161" Philip|strong="G5376" was found|strong="G2147" at|strong="G1519" Azotus|strong="G0108": and|strong="G2532" passing through|strong="G1330" he preached|strong="G2097" in all|strong="G3956" the cities|strong="G4172", till|strong="G2193" he|strong="G0846" came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1519" Cæsarea|strong="G2542".
