And it came to pass in the ninth|strong="H8671" year|strong="H8141" of his reign|strong="H4427", in the tenth|strong="H6224" month|strong="H2320", in the tenth|strong="H6218" day of the month|strong="H2320", that Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" came|strong="H0935", he, and all his host|strong="H2428", against Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and pitched|strong="H2583" against it; and they built|strong="H1129" forts|strong="H1785" against it round about|strong="H5439".
And the city|strong="H5892" was besieged|strong="H0935" unto the eleventh|strong="H6249" year|strong="H8141" of king|strong="H4428" Zedekiah|strong="H6667".
And on the ninth|strong="H8672" day of the fourth month|strong="H2320" the famine|strong="H7458" prevailed|strong="H2388" in the city|strong="H5892", and there was no bread|strong="H3899" for the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776".
And the city|strong="H5892" was broken up|strong="H1234", and all the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421" fled by night|strong="H3915" by the way|strong="H1870" of the gate|strong="H8179" between two walls|strong="H2346", which is by the king’s|strong="H4428" garden|strong="H1588": (now the Chaldees|strong="H3778" were against the city|strong="H5892" round about|strong="H5439":) and the king went|strong="H3212" the way|strong="H1870" toward the plain|strong="H6160".
And the army|strong="H2428" of the Chaldees|strong="H3778" pursued|strong="H7291" after|strong="H0310" the king|strong="H4428", and overtook|strong="H5381" him in the plains|strong="H6160" of Jericho|strong="H3405": and all his army|strong="H2428" were scattered|strong="H6327" from him.
So they took|strong="H8610" the king|strong="H4428", and brought him up|strong="H5927" to the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" to Riblah|strong="H7247"; and they gave|strong="H1696" judgment|strong="H4941" upon him.
And they slew|strong="H7819" the sons|strong="H1121" of Zedekiah|strong="H6667" before his eyes|strong="H5869", and put out|strong="H5786" the eyes|strong="H5869" of Zedekiah|strong="H6667", and bound|strong="H0631" him with fetters|strong="H5178" of brass|strong="H5178", and carried|strong="H0935" him to Babylon|strong="H0894".
And in the fifth|strong="H2549" month|strong="H2320", on the seventh|strong="H7651" day of the month|strong="H2320", which is the nineteenth|strong="H8672" year|strong="H8141" of king|strong="H4428" Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", came|strong="H0935" Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018", captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876", a servant|strong="H5650" of the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", unto Jerusalem|strong="H3389":
And he burnt|strong="H8313" the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", and all the houses|strong="H1004" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and every great|strong="H1419" man’s house|strong="H1004" burnt|strong="H8313" he with fire|strong="H0784".
And all the army|strong="H2428" of the Chaldees|strong="H3778", that were with the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876", brake down|strong="H5422" the walls|strong="H2346" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389" round about|strong="H5439".
Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the people|strong="H5971" that were left|strong="H7604" in the city|strong="H5892", and the fugitives|strong="H5307" that fell away|strong="H5307" to the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", with the remnant|strong="H3499" of the multitude|strong="H1995", did Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018" the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" carry away|strong="H1540".
But the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" left|strong="H7604" of the poor|strong="H1803" of the land|strong="H0776" to be vinedressers|strong="H3755" and husbandmen|strong="H3009".
And the pillars|strong="H5982" of brass|strong="H5178" that were in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the bases|strong="H4350", and the brasen|strong="H5178" sea|strong="H3220" that was in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, did the Chaldees|strong="H3778" break in pieces|strong="H7665", and carried|strong="H5375" the brass|strong="H5178" of them to Babylon|strong="H0894".
And the pots|strong="H5518", and the shovels|strong="H3257", and the snuffers|strong="H4212", and the spoons|strong="H3709", and all the vessels|strong="H3627" of brass|strong="H5178" wherewith they ministered|strong="H8334", took they away|strong="H3947".
And the firepans|strong="H4289", and the bowls|strong="H4219", and such things as were of gold|strong="H2091", in gold|strong="H2091", and of silver|strong="H3701", in silver|strong="H3701", the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" took away|strong="H3947".
The two|strong="H8147" pillars|strong="H5982", one|strong="H0259" sea|strong="H3220", and the bases|strong="H4350" which Solomon|strong="H8010" had made|strong="H6213" for the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; the brass|strong="H5178" of all these vessels|strong="H3627" was without|strong="H3808" weight|strong="H4948".
The height|strong="H6967" of the one|strong="H0259" pillar|strong="H5982" was eighteen|strong="H8083" cubits|strong="H0520", and the chapiter|strong="H3805" upon it was brass|strong="H5178": and the height|strong="H6967" of the chapiter|strong="H3805" three|strong="H7969" cubits|strong="H0520"; and the wreathen work|strong="H7639", and pomegranates|strong="H7416" upon the chapiter|strong="H3805" round about|strong="H5439", all of brass|strong="H5178": and like unto these had the second|strong="H8145" pillar|strong="H5982" with wreathen work|strong="H7639".
And the captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" took|strong="H3947" Seraiah|strong="H8304" the chief|strong="H7218" priest|strong="H3548", and Zephaniah|strong="H6846" the second|strong="H4932" priest|strong="H3548", and the three|strong="H7969" keepers|strong="H8104" of the door|strong="H5592":
And out of the city|strong="H5892" he took|strong="H3947" an|strong="H0259" officer|strong="H5631" that was set|strong="H6496" over the men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421", and five|strong="H2568" men|strong="H0582" of them that were|strong="H7200" in the king’s|strong="H4428" presence|strong="H6440", which were found|strong="H4672" in the city|strong="H5892", and the principal|strong="H8269" scribe|strong="H5608" of the host|strong="H6635", which mustered|strong="H6633" the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776", and threescore|strong="H8346" men|strong="H0376" of the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776" that were found|strong="H4672" in the city|strong="H5892":
And Nebuzar-adan|strong="H5018" captain|strong="H7227" of the guard|strong="H2876" took|strong="H3947" these, and brought|strong="H3212" them to the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" to Riblah|strong="H7247":
And the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" smote|strong="H5221" them, and slew|strong="H4191" them at Riblah|strong="H7247" in the land|strong="H0776" of Hamath|strong="H2574". So Judah|strong="H3063" was carried away|strong="H1540" out of their land|strong="H0127".
And as for the people|strong="H5971" that remained|strong="H7604" in the land|strong="H0776" of Judah|strong="H3063", whom Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" had left|strong="H7604", even over them he made Gedaliah|strong="H1436" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahikam|strong="H0296", the son|strong="H1121" of Shaphan|strong="H8227", ruler|strong="H6485".
And when all the captains|strong="H8269" of the armies|strong="H2428", they and their men|strong="H0582", heard|strong="H8085" that the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" had made Gedaliah|strong="H1436" governor|strong="H6485", there came|strong="H0935" to Gedaliah|strong="H1436" to Mizpah|strong="H4709", even Ishmael|strong="H3458" the son|strong="H1121" of Nethaniah|strong="H5418", and Johanan|strong="H3110" the son|strong="H1121" of Careah|strong="H7143", and Seraiah|strong="H8304" the son|strong="H1121" of Tanhumeth|strong="H8576" the Netophathite|strong="H5200", and Jaazaniah|strong="H2970" the son|strong="H1121" of a Maachathite|strong="H4602", they and their men|strong="H0582".
And Gedaliah|strong="H1436" sware|strong="H7650" to them, and to their men|strong="H0582", and said|strong="H0559" unto them, Fear|strong="H3372" not to be the servants|strong="H5650" of the Chaldees|strong="H3778": dwell|strong="H3427" in the land|strong="H0776", and serve|strong="H5647" the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894"; and it shall be well|strong="H3190" with you.
But it came to pass in the seventh|strong="H7637" month|strong="H2320", that Ishmael|strong="H3458" the son|strong="H1121" of Nethaniah|strong="H5418", the son|strong="H1121" of Elishama|strong="H0476", of the seed|strong="H2233" royal|strong="H4410", came|strong="H0935", and ten|strong="H6235" men|strong="H0582" with him, and smote|strong="H5221" Gedaliah|strong="H1436", that he died|strong="H4191", and the Jews|strong="H3064" and the Chaldees|strong="H3778" that were with him at Mizpah|strong="H4709".
And all the people|strong="H5971", both small|strong="H6996" and great|strong="H1419", and the captains|strong="H8269" of the armies|strong="H2428", arose|strong="H6965", and came|strong="H0935" to Egypt|strong="H4714": for they were afraid|strong="H3372" of|strong="H6440" the Chaldees|strong="H3778".
And it came to pass in the seven|strong="H7651" and thirtieth|strong="H7970" year|strong="H8141" of the captivity|strong="H1546" of Jehoiachin|strong="H3078" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", in the twelfth|strong="H8147" month|strong="H2320", on the seven|strong="H7651" and twentieth|strong="H6242" day of the month|strong="H2320", that Evil-merodach|strong="H0192" king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894" in the year|strong="H8141" that he began to reign|strong="H4427" did lift up|strong="H5375" the head|strong="H7218" of Jehoiachin|strong="H3078" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" out of prison|strong="H1004";
And he spake|strong="H1696" kindly|strong="H2896" to him, and set|strong="H5414" his throne|strong="H3678" above the throne|strong="H3678" of the kings|strong="H4428" that were with him in Babylon|strong="H0894";
And changed|strong="H8132" his prison|strong="H3608" garments|strong="H0899": and he did eat|strong="H0398" bread|strong="H3899" continually|strong="H8548" before|strong="H6440" him all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416".
And his allowance|strong="H0737" was a continual|strong="H8548" allowance|strong="H0737" given|strong="H5414" him of the king|strong="H4428", a daily|strong="H3117" rate|strong="H1697" for every day|strong="H3117", all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416".
