2 Crônicas 26

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

1 Then all the people|strong="H5971" of Judah|strong="H3063" took|strong="H3947" Uzziah|strong="H5818", who was sixteen|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121", and made him king|strong="H4427" in the room of his father|strong="H0001" Amaziah|strong="H0558".

2 He built|strong="H1129" Eloth|strong="H0359", and restored|strong="H7725" it to Judah|strong="H3063", after|strong="H0310" that the king|strong="H4428" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001".

3 Sixteen|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was Uzziah|strong="H5818" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" fifty|strong="H2572" and two|strong="H8147" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". His mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" also was Jecoliah|strong="H3203" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389".

4 And he did|strong="H6213" that which was right|strong="H3477" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, according to all that his father|strong="H0001" Amaziah|strong="H0558" did|strong="H6213".

5 And he sought|strong="H1875" God|strong="H0430" in the days|strong="H3117" of Zechariah|strong="H2148", who had understanding|strong="H0995" in the visions|strong="H7200" of God|strong="H0430": and as long as|strong="H3117" he sought|strong="H1875" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, God|strong="H0430" made him to prosper|strong="H6743".

6 And he went forth|strong="H3318" and warred|strong="H3898" against the Philistines|strong="H6430", and brake down|strong="H6555" the wall|strong="H2346" of Gath|strong="H1661", and the wall|strong="H2346" of Jabneh|strong="H2996", and the wall|strong="H2346" of Ashdod|strong="H0795", and built|strong="H1129" cities|strong="H5892" about Ashdod|strong="H0795", and among the Philistines|strong="H6430".

7 And God|strong="H0430" helped|strong="H5826" him against the Philistines|strong="H6430", and against the Arabians|strong="H6163" that dwelt|strong="H3427" in Gur-baal|strong="H1485", and the Mehunims|strong="H4586".

8 And the Ammonites|strong="H5984" gave|strong="H5414" gifts|strong="H4503" to Uzziah|strong="H5818": and his name|strong="H8034" spread abroad|strong="H3212" even to the entering|strong="H0935" in of Egypt|strong="H4714"; for he strengthened|strong="H2388" himself exceedingly|strong="H4605".

9 Moreover Uzziah|strong="H5818" built|strong="H1129" towers|strong="H4026" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389" at the corner|strong="H6438" gate|strong="H8179", and at the valley|strong="H1516" gate|strong="H8179", and at the turning|strong="H4740" of the wall, and fortified|strong="H2388" them.

10 Also he built|strong="H1129" towers|strong="H4026" in the desert|strong="H4057", and digged|strong="H2672" many|strong="H7227" wells|strong="H0953": for he had much|strong="H7227" cattle|strong="H4735", both in the low country|strong="H8219", and in the plains|strong="H4334": husbandmen|strong="H0406" also, and vine dressers|strong="H3755" in the mountains|strong="H2022", and in Carmel|strong="H3760": for he loved|strong="H0157" husbandry|strong="H0127".

11 Moreover Uzziah|strong="H5818" had an host|strong="H2428" of fighting|strong="H4421" men|strong="H6213", that went out|strong="H3318" to war|strong="H6635" by bands|strong="H1416", according to the number|strong="H4557" of their account|strong="H6486" by the hand|strong="H3027" of Jeiel|strong="H3273" the scribe|strong="H5608" and Maaseiah|strong="H4641" the ruler|strong="H7860", under the hand|strong="H3027" of Hananiah|strong="H2608", one of the king’s|strong="H4428" captains|strong="H8269".

12 The whole number|strong="H4557" of the chief|strong="H7218" of the fathers|strong="H0001" of the mighty men|strong="H1368" of valour|strong="H2428" were two thousand|strong="H0505" and six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967".

13 And under their hand|strong="H3027" was an army|strong="H2428", three|strong="H7969" hundred|strong="H3967" thousand|strong="H0505" and seven|strong="H7651" thousand|strong="H0505" and five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967", that made|strong="H6213" war|strong="H4421" with mighty|strong="H2428" power|strong="H3581", to help|strong="H5826" the king|strong="H4428" against the enemy|strong="H0341".

14 And Uzziah|strong="H5818" prepared|strong="H3559" for them throughout all the host|strong="H6635" shields|strong="H4043", and spears|strong="H7420", and helmets|strong="H3553", and habergeons|strong="H8302", and bows|strong="H7198", and slings|strong="H7050" to cast stones|strong="H0068".

15 And he made|strong="H6213" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389" engines|strong="H2810", invented|strong="H4284" by cunning men|strong="H2803", to be on the towers|strong="H4026" and upon the bulwarks|strong="H6438", to shoot|strong="H3384" arrows|strong="H2671" and great|strong="H1419" stones|strong="H0068" withal. And his name|strong="H8034" spread|strong="H3318" far abroad|strong="H7350"; for he was marvellously|strong="H6381" helped|strong="H5826", till|strong="H3588" he was strong|strong="H2388".

16 But when he was strong|strong="H2393", his heart|strong="H3820" was lifted up|strong="H1361" to his destruction|strong="H7843": for he transgressed|strong="H4603" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430", and went|strong="H0935" into the temple|strong="H1964" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to burn incense|strong="H6999" upon the altar|strong="H4196" of incense|strong="H7004".

17 And Azariah|strong="H5838" the priest|strong="H3548" went in|strong="H0935" after|strong="H0310" him, and with him fourscore|strong="H8084" priests|strong="H3548" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that were valiant|strong="H2428" men|strong="H1121":

18 And they withstood|strong="H5975" Uzziah|strong="H5818" the king|strong="H4428", and said|strong="H0559" unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah|strong="H5818", to burn incense|strong="H6999" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, but to the priests|strong="H3548" the sons|strong="H1121" of Aaron|strong="H0175", that are consecrated|strong="H6942" to burn incense|strong="H6999": go out|strong="H3318" of the sanctuary|strong="H4720"; for thou hast trespassed|strong="H4603"; neither shall it be for thine honour|strong="H3519" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430".

19 Then Uzziah|strong="H5818" was wroth|strong="H2196", and had a censer|strong="H4730" in his hand|strong="H3027" to burn incense|strong="H6999": and while he was wroth|strong="H2196" with the priests|strong="H3548", the leprosy|strong="H6883" even rose up|strong="H2224" in his forehead|strong="H4696" before|strong="H6440" the priests|strong="H3548" in the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, from beside the incense|strong="H7004" altar|strong="H4196".

20 And Azariah|strong="H5838" the chief|strong="H7218" priest|strong="H3548", and all the priests|strong="H3548", looked|strong="H6437" upon him, and, behold, he was leprous|strong="H6879" in his forehead|strong="H4696", and they thrust him out|strong="H0926" from thence; yea, himself hasted|strong="H1765" also to go out|strong="H3318", because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had smitten|strong="H5060" him.

21 And Uzziah|strong="H5818" the king|strong="H4428" was a leper|strong="H6879" unto the day|strong="H3117" of his death|strong="H4194", and dwelt in|strong="H3427" a several|strong="H2669" house|strong="H1004", being a leper|strong="H6879"; for he was cut off|strong="H1504" from the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: and Jotham|strong="H3147" his son|strong="H1121" was over the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", judging|strong="H8199" the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776".

22 Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Uzziah|strong="H5818", first|strong="H7223" and last|strong="H0314", did Isaiah|strong="H3470" the prophet|strong="H5030", the son|strong="H1121" of Amoz|strong="H0531", write|strong="H3789".

23 So Uzziah|strong="H5818" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and they buried|strong="H6912" him with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the field|strong="H7704" of the burial|strong="H6900" which belonged to the kings|strong="H4428"; for they said|strong="H0559", He is a leper|strong="H6879": and Jotham|strong="H3147" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
