Timóteo 3

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

This|strong="G3588" is a true|strong="G4103" saying|strong="G3056", If|strong="G1487" a man|strong="G5100" desire|strong="G3713" the office of a bishop|strong="G1984", he desireth|strong="G1937" a good|strong="G2570" work|strong="G2041".

A bishop|strong="G1985" then|strong="G3767" must|strong="G1163" be|strong="G1511" blameless|strong="G0423", the husband|strong="G0435" of one|strong="G1520" wife|strong="G1135", vigilant|strong="G3524", sober|strong="G4998", of good behaviour|strong="G2887", given to hospitality|strong="G5382", apt to teach|strong="G1317";

Not|strong="G3361" given to wine|strong="G3943", no|strong="G3361" striker|strong="G4131", not|strong="G3361" greedy of filthy lucre|strong="G0146"; but|strong="G0235" patient|strong="G1933", not a brawler|strong="G0269", not covetous|strong="G0866";

One that ruleth|strong="G4291" well|strong="G2573" his own|strong="G2398" house|strong="G3624", having|strong="G2192" his children|strong="G5043" in|strong="G1722" subjection|strong="G5292" with|strong="G3326" all|strong="G3956" gravity|strong="G4587";

(For|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" a man|strong="G5100" know|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3756" how|strong="G1492" to rule|strong="G4291" his own|strong="G2398" house|strong="G3624", how|strong="G4459" shall he take care|strong="G1959" of the church|strong="G1577" of God|strong="G2316"?)

Not|strong="G3361" a novice|strong="G3504", lest|strong="G3361" being lifted up with pride|strong="G5187" he fall|strong="G1706" into|strong="G1519" the condemnation|strong="G2917" of the devil|strong="G1228".

Moreover|strong="G1161" he|strong="G0846" must|strong="G1163" have|strong="G2192" a good|strong="G2570" report|strong="G3141" of|strong="G0575" them which are without|strong="G1855"; lest|strong="G3361" he fall|strong="G1706" into|strong="G1519" reproach|strong="G3680" and|strong="G2532" the snare|strong="G3803" of the devil|strong="G1228".

Likewise|strong="G5615" must the deacons|strong="G1249" be grave|strong="G4586", not|strong="G3361" doubletongued|strong="G1351", not|strong="G3361" given to|strong="G4337" much|strong="G4183" wine|strong="G3631", not|strong="G3361" greedy of filthy lucre|strong="G0146";

Holding|strong="G2192" the mystery|strong="G3466" of the faith|strong="G4102" in|strong="G1722" a pure|strong="G2513" conscience|strong="G4893".

And|strong="G1161" let|strong="G1381" these|strong="G3778" also|strong="G2532" first|strong="G4412" be proved|strong="G1381"; then|strong="G1534" let them use the office of a deacon|strong="G1247", being|strong="G5607" found blameless|strong="G0410".

Even so|strong="G5615" must their wives|strong="G1135" be grave|strong="G4586", not|strong="G3361" slanderers|strong="G1228", sober|strong="G3524", faithful|strong="G4103" in|strong="G1722" all things|strong="G3956".

Let|strong="G2077" the deacons|strong="G1249" be|strong="G2077" the husbands|strong="G0435" of one|strong="G1520" wife|strong="G1135", ruling|strong="G4291" their children|strong="G5043" and|strong="G2532" their own|strong="G2398" houses|strong="G3624" well|strong="G2573".

For|strong="G1063" they that have used the office of a deacon|strong="G1247" well|strong="G2573" purchase|strong="G4046" to themselves|strong="G1438" a good|strong="G2570" degree|strong="G0898", and|strong="G2532" great|strong="G4183" boldness|strong="G3954" in|strong="G1722" the faith|strong="G4102" which is|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547" Jesus|strong="G2424".

These things|strong="G5023" write I|strong="G1125" unto thee|strong="G4671", hoping|strong="G1679" to come|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G4314" thee|strong="G4571" shortly|strong="G5032":

But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1437" I tarry long|strong="G1019", that|strong="G2443" thou mayest know|strong="G1492" how|strong="G4459" thou oughtest|strong="G1163" to behave thyself|strong="G0390" in|strong="G1722" the house|strong="G3624" of God|strong="G2316", which|strong="G3748" is|strong="G2076" the church|strong="G1577" of the living|strong="G2198" God|strong="G2316", the pillar|strong="G4769" and|strong="G2532" ground|strong="G1477" of the truth|strong="G0225".

And|strong="G2532" without controversy|strong="G3672" great|strong="G3173" is|strong="G2076" the mystery|strong="G3466" of godliness|strong="G2150": God|strong="G2316" was manifest|strong="G5319" in|strong="G1722" the flesh|strong="G4561", justified|strong="G1344" in|strong="G1722" the Spirit|strong="G4151", seen|strong="G3700" of angels|strong="G0032", preached|strong="G2784" unto|strong="G1722" the Gentiles|strong="G1484", believed on|strong="G4100" in|strong="G1722" the world|strong="G2889", received up|strong="G0353" into|strong="G1722" glory|strong="G1391".
