Reis 1

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Now king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" was old|strong="H2204" and stricken|strong="H0935" in years|strong="H3117"; and they covered|strong="H3680" him with clothes|strong="H0899", but he gat no heat|strong="H3179".

Wherefore his servants|strong="H5650" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Let there be sought|strong="H1245" for my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" a young|strong="H5291" virgin|strong="H1330": and let her stand|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428", and let her cherish|strong="H5532" him, and let her lie|strong="H7901" in thy bosom|strong="H2436", that my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" may get heat|strong="H2552".

So they sought|strong="H1245" for a fair|strong="H3303" damsel|strong="H5291" throughout all the coasts|strong="H1366" of Israel|strong="H3478", and found|strong="H4672" Abishag|strong="H0049" a Shunammite|strong="H7767", and brought|strong="H0935" her to the king|strong="H4428".

And the damsel|strong="H5291" was very|strong="H3966" fair|strong="H3303", and cherished|strong="H5532" the king|strong="H4428", and ministered|strong="H8334" to him: but the king|strong="H4428" knew|strong="H3045" her not.

Then Adonijah|strong="H0138" the son|strong="H1121" of Haggith|strong="H2294" exalted|strong="H4984" himself, saying|strong="H0559", I will be king|strong="H4427": and he prepared|strong="H6213" him chariots|strong="H7393" and horsemen|strong="H6571", and fifty|strong="H2572" men|strong="H0376" to run|strong="H7323" before|strong="H6440" him.

And his father|strong="H0001" had not displeased|strong="H6087" him at any time|strong="H3117" in saying|strong="H0559", Why hast thou done so|strong="H6213"? and he also was a very|strong="H3966" goodly|strong="H2896" man; and his mother bare|strong="H3205" him after|strong="H0310" Absalom|strong="H0053".

And he conferred|strong="H1697" with Joab|strong="H3097" the son|strong="H1121" of Zeruiah|strong="H6870", and with Abiathar|strong="H0054" the priest|strong="H3548": and they following|strong="H0310" Adonijah|strong="H0138" helped|strong="H5826" him.

But Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548", and Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077", and Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030", and Shimei|strong="H8096", and Rei|strong="H7472", and the mighty men|strong="H1368" which belonged to David|strong="H1732", were not with Adonijah|strong="H0138".

And Adonijah|strong="H0138" slew|strong="H2076" sheep|strong="H6629" and oxen|strong="H1241" and fat cattle|strong="H4806" by the stone|strong="H0068" of Zoheleth|strong="H2120", which is by|strong="H0681" En-rogel|strong="H5883", and called|strong="H7121" all his brethren|strong="H0251" the king’s|strong="H4428" sons|strong="H1121", and all the men|strong="H0582" of Judah|strong="H3063" the king’s|strong="H4428" servants|strong="H5650":

But Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030", and Benaiah|strong="H1141", and the mighty men|strong="H1368", and Solomon|strong="H8010" his brother|strong="H0251", he called|strong="H7121" not.

Wherefore Nathan|strong="H5416" spake|strong="H0559" unto Bath-sheba|strong="H1339" the mother|strong="H0517" of Solomon|strong="H8010", saying|strong="H0559", Hast thou not heard|strong="H8085" that Adonijah|strong="H0138" the son|strong="H1121" of Haggith|strong="H2294" doth reign|strong="H4427", and David|strong="H1732" our lord|strong="H0113" knoweth|strong="H3045" it not?

Now therefore come|strong="H3212", let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel|strong="H3289", that thou mayest save|strong="H4422" thine own life|strong="H5315", and the life|strong="H5315" of thy son|strong="H1121" Solomon|strong="H8010".

Go|strong="H3212" and get thee in|strong="H0935" unto king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732", and say|strong="H0559" unto him, Didst not thou, my lord|strong="H0113", O king|strong="H4428", swear|strong="H7650" unto thine handmaid|strong="H0519", saying|strong="H0559", Assuredly|strong="H3588" Solomon|strong="H8010" thy son|strong="H1121" shall reign|strong="H4427" after|strong="H0310" me, and he shall sit|strong="H3427" upon my throne|strong="H3678"? why then doth Adonijah|strong="H0138" reign|strong="H4427"?

Behold, while thou yet talkest|strong="H1696" there with the king|strong="H4428", I also will come in|strong="H0935" after|strong="H0310" thee, and confirm|strong="H4390" thy words|strong="H1697".

And Bath-sheba|strong="H1339" went in|strong="H0935" unto the king|strong="H4428" into the chamber|strong="H2315": and the king|strong="H4428" was very|strong="H3966" old|strong="H2204"; and Abishag|strong="H0049" the Shunammite|strong="H7767" ministered|strong="H8334" unto the king|strong="H4428".

And Bath-sheba|strong="H1339" bowed|strong="H6915", and did obeisance|strong="H7812" unto the king|strong="H4428". And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559", What wouldest thou?

And she said|strong="H0559" unto him, My lord|strong="H0113", thou swarest|strong="H7650" by the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" unto thine handmaid|strong="H0519", saying, Assuredly Solomon|strong="H8010" thy son|strong="H1121" shall reign|strong="H4427" after|strong="H0310" me, and he shall sit|strong="H3427" upon my throne|strong="H3678".

And now, behold, Adonijah|strong="H0138" reigneth|strong="H4427"; and now, my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428", thou knowest|strong="H3045" it not:

And he hath slain|strong="H2076" oxen|strong="H7794" and fat cattle|strong="H4806" and sheep|strong="H6629" in abundance|strong="H7230", and hath called|strong="H7121" all the sons|strong="H1121" of the king|strong="H4428", and Abiathar|strong="H0054" the priest|strong="H3548", and Joab|strong="H3097" the captain|strong="H8269" of the host|strong="H6635": but Solomon|strong="H8010" thy servant|strong="H5650" hath he not called|strong="H7121".

And thou, my lord|strong="H0113", O king|strong="H4428", the eyes|strong="H5869" of all Israel|strong="H3478" are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell|strong="H5046" them who shall sit|strong="H3427" on the throne|strong="H3678" of my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" after|strong="H0310" him.

Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" shall sleep|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", that I and my son|strong="H1121" Solomon|strong="H8010" shall be counted offenders|strong="H2400".

And, lo, while she yet talked|strong="H1696" with the king|strong="H4428", Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030" also came in|strong="H0935".

And they told|strong="H5046" the king|strong="H4428", saying|strong="H0559", Behold Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030". And when he was come in|strong="H0935" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428", he bowed|strong="H7812" himself before the king|strong="H4428" with his face|strong="H0639" to the ground|strong="H0776".

And Nathan|strong="H5416" said|strong="H0559", My lord|strong="H0113", O king|strong="H4428", hast thou said|strong="H0559", Adonijah|strong="H0138" shall reign|strong="H4427" after|strong="H0310" me, and he shall sit|strong="H3427" upon my throne|strong="H3678"?

For he is gone down|strong="H3381" this day|strong="H3117", and hath slain|strong="H2076" oxen|strong="H7794" and fat cattle|strong="H4806" and sheep|strong="H6629" in abundance|strong="H7230", and hath called|strong="H7121" all the king’s|strong="H4428" sons|strong="H1121", and the captains|strong="H8269" of the host|strong="H6635", and Abiathar|strong="H0054" the priest|strong="H3548"; and, behold, they eat|strong="H0398" and drink|strong="H8354" before|strong="H6440" him, and say|strong="H0559", God save|strong="H2421" king|strong="H4428" Adonijah|strong="H0138".

But me, even me thy servant|strong="H5650", and Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548", and Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077", and thy servant|strong="H5650" Solomon|strong="H8010", hath he not called|strong="H7121".

Is this thing|strong="H1697" done|strong="H1961" by my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428", and thou hast not shewed|strong="H3045" it unto thy servant|strong="H5650", who should sit|strong="H3427" on the throne|strong="H3678" of my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" after|strong="H0310" him?

Then king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559", Call|strong="H7121" me Bath-sheba|strong="H1339". And she came|strong="H0935" into the king’s|strong="H4428" presence|strong="H6440", and stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428".

And the king|strong="H4428" sware|strong="H7650", and said|strong="H0559", As the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* liveth|strong="H2416", that hath redeemed|strong="H6299" my soul|strong="H5315" out of all distress|strong="H6869",

Even as I sware|strong="H7650" unto thee by the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", saying|strong="H0559", Assuredly Solomon|strong="H8010" thy son|strong="H1121" shall reign|strong="H4427" after|strong="H0310" me, and he shall sit|strong="H3427" upon my throne|strong="H3678" in my stead; even so will I certainly do|strong="H6213" this day|strong="H3117".

Then Bath-sheba|strong="H1339" bowed|strong="H6915" with her face|strong="H0639" to the earth|strong="H0776", and did reverence|strong="H7812" to the king|strong="H4428", and said|strong="H0559", Let my lord|strong="H0113" king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" live|strong="H2421" for ever|strong="H5769".

And king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" said|strong="H0559", Call|strong="H7121" me Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548", and Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030", and Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077". And they came|strong="H0935" before|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428".

The king|strong="H4428" also said|strong="H0559" unto them, Take|strong="H3947" with you the servants|strong="H5650" of your lord|strong="H0113", and cause Solomon|strong="H8010" my son|strong="H1121" to ride|strong="H7392" upon mine own mule|strong="H6506", and bring him down|strong="H3381" to Gihon|strong="H1521":

And let Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548" and Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030" anoint|strong="H4886" him there king|strong="H4428" over Israel|strong="H3478": and blow|strong="H8628" ye with the trumpet|strong="H7782", and say|strong="H0559", God save|strong="H2421" king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010".

Then ye shall come up|strong="H5927" after|strong="H0310" him, that he may come|strong="H0935" and sit|strong="H3427" upon my throne|strong="H3678"; for he shall be king|strong="H4427" in my stead: and I have appointed|strong="H6680" him to be ruler|strong="H5057" over Israel|strong="H3478" and over Judah|strong="H3063".

And Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077" answered|strong="H6030" the king|strong="H4428", and said|strong="H0559", Amen|strong="H0543": the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" say|strong="H0559" so too.

As the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath been with my lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428", even so be he with Solomon|strong="H8010", and make|strong="H1431" his throne|strong="H3678" greater|strong="H1431" than the throne|strong="H3678" of my lord|strong="H0113" king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732".

So Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548", and Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030", and Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077", and the Cherethites|strong="H3774", and the Pelethites|strong="H6432", went down|strong="H3381", and caused Solomon|strong="H8010" to ride|strong="H7392" upon king|strong="H4428" David’s|strong="H1732" mule|strong="H6506", and brought|strong="H3212" him to Gihon|strong="H1521".

And Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548" took|strong="H3947" an horn|strong="H7161" of oil|strong="H8081" out of the tabernacle|strong="H0168", and anointed|strong="H4886" Solomon|strong="H8010". And they blew|strong="H8628" the trumpet|strong="H7782"; and all the people|strong="H5971" said|strong="H0559", God save|strong="H2421" king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010".

And all the people|strong="H5971" came up|strong="H5927" after|strong="H0310" him, and the people|strong="H5971" piped|strong="H2490" with pipes|strong="H2485", and rejoiced|strong="H8056" with great|strong="H1419" joy|strong="H8057", so that the earth|strong="H0776" rent|strong="H1234" with the sound|strong="H6963" of them.

And Adonijah|strong="H0138" and all the guests|strong="H7121" that were with him heard|strong="H8085" it as they had made an end|strong="H3615" of eating|strong="H0398". And when Joab|strong="H3097" heard|strong="H8085" the sound|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782", he said|strong="H0559", Wherefore is this noise|strong="H6963" of the city|strong="H7151" being in an uproar|strong="H1993"?

And while he yet spake|strong="H1696", behold, Jonathan|strong="H3129" the son|strong="H1121" of Abiathar|strong="H0054" the priest|strong="H3548" came|strong="H0935": and Adonijah|strong="H0138" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Come in|strong="H0935"; for thou art a valiant|strong="H2428" man|strong="H0376", and bringest|strong="H1319" good|strong="H2896" tidings|strong="H1319".

And Jonathan|strong="H3129" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559" to Adonijah|strong="H0138", Verily|strong="H0061" our lord|strong="H0113" king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" hath made Solomon|strong="H8010" king|strong="H4427".

And the king|strong="H4428" hath sent|strong="H7971" with him Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548", and Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030", and Benaiah|strong="H1141" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077", and the Cherethites|strong="H3774", and the Pelethites|strong="H6432", and they have caused him to ride|strong="H7392" upon the king’s|strong="H4428" mule|strong="H6506":

And Zadok|strong="H6659" the priest|strong="H3548" and Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030" have anointed|strong="H4886" him king|strong="H4428" in Gihon|strong="H1521": and they are come up|strong="H5927" from thence rejoicing|strong="H8056", so that the city|strong="H7151" rang again|strong="H1949". This is the noise|strong="H6963" that ye have heard|strong="H8085".

And also Solomon|strong="H8010" sitteth|strong="H3427" on the throne|strong="H3678" of the kingdom|strong="H4410".

And moreover the king’s|strong="H4428" servants|strong="H5650" came|strong="H0935" to bless|strong="H1288" our lord|strong="H0113" king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732", saying|strong="H0559", God|strong="H0430" make the name|strong="H8034" of Solomon|strong="H8010" better|strong="H3190" than thy name|strong="H8034", and make|strong="H1431" his throne|strong="H3678" greater|strong="H1431" than thy throne|strong="H3678". And the king|strong="H4428" bowed|strong="H7812" himself upon the bed|strong="H4904".

And also thus said|strong="H0559" the king|strong="H4428", Blessed|strong="H1288" be the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", which hath given|strong="H5414" one to sit|strong="H3427" on my throne|strong="H3678" this day|strong="H3117", mine eyes|strong="H5869" even seeing|strong="H7200" it.

And all the guests|strong="H7121" that were with Adonijah|strong="H0138" were afraid|strong="H2729", and rose up|strong="H6965", and went|strong="H3212" every man|strong="H0376" his way|strong="H1870".

And Adonijah|strong="H0138" feared|strong="H3372" because|strong="H6440" of Solomon|strong="H8010", and arose|strong="H6965", and went|strong="H3212", and caught hold|strong="H2388" on the horns|strong="H7161" of the altar|strong="H4196".

And it was told|strong="H5046" Solomon|strong="H8010", saying|strong="H0559", Behold, Adonijah|strong="H0138" feareth|strong="H3372" king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010": for, lo, he hath caught hold|strong="H0270" on the horns|strong="H7161" of the altar|strong="H4196", saying|strong="H0559", Let king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" swear|strong="H7650" unto me to day|strong="H3117" that he will not slay|strong="H4191" his servant|strong="H5650" with the sword|strong="H2719".

And Solomon|strong="H8010" said|strong="H0559", If he will shew himself a worthy|strong="H2428" man|strong="H1121", there shall not an hair|strong="H8185" of him fall|strong="H5307" to the earth|strong="H0776": but if wickedness|strong="H7451" shall be found|strong="H4672" in him, he shall die|strong="H4191".

So king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" sent|strong="H7971", and they brought him down|strong="H3381" from the altar|strong="H4196". And he came|strong="H0935" and bowed|strong="H7812" himself to king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010": and Solomon|strong="H8010" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Go|strong="H3212" to thine house|strong="H1004".
