1 Furthermore David|strong="H1732" the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" unto all the congregation|strong="H6951", Solomon|strong="H8010" my son|strong="H1121", whom alone|strong="H0259" God|strong="H0430" hath chosen|strong="H0977", is yet young|strong="H5288" and tender|strong="H7390", and the work|strong="H4399" is great|strong="H1419": for the palace|strong="H1002" is not for man|strong="H0120", but for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430".
2 Now I have prepared|strong="H3559" with all my might|strong="H3581" for the house|strong="H1004" of my God|strong="H0430" the gold|strong="H2091" for things to be made of gold|strong="H2091", and the silver|strong="H3701" for things of silver|strong="H3701", and the brass|strong="H5178" for things of brass|strong="H5178", the iron|strong="H1270" for things of iron|strong="H1270", and wood|strong="H6086" for things of wood|strong="H6086"; onyx|strong="H7718" stones|strong="H0068", and stones to be set|strong="H4394", glistering|strong="H6320" stones|strong="H0068", and of divers colours|strong="H7553", and all manner of precious|strong="H3368" stones|strong="H0068", and marble|strong="H7893" stones|strong="H0068" in abundance|strong="H7230".
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection|strong="H7521" to the house|strong="H1004" of my God|strong="H0430", I have|strong="H3426" of mine own proper good|strong="H5459", of gold|strong="H2091" and silver|strong="H3701", which I have given|strong="H5414" to the house|strong="H1004" of my God|strong="H0430", over and above|strong="H4605" all that I have prepared|strong="H3559" for the holy|strong="H6944" house|strong="H1004",
4 Even three|strong="H7969" thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603" of gold|strong="H2091", of the gold|strong="H2091" of Ophir|strong="H0211", and seven|strong="H7651" thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603" of refined|strong="H2212" silver|strong="H3701", to overlay|strong="H2902" the walls|strong="H7023" of the houses|strong="H1004" withal:
5 The gold|strong="H2091" for things of gold|strong="H2091", and the silver|strong="H3701" for things of silver|strong="H3701", and for all manner of work|strong="H4399" to be made by the hands|strong="H3027" of artificers|strong="H2796". And who then is willing|strong="H5068" to consecrate|strong="H4390" his service|strong="H3027" this day|strong="H3117" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*?
6 Then the chief|strong="H8269" of the fathers|strong="H0001" and princes|strong="H8269" of the tribes|strong="H7626" of Israel|strong="H3478", and the captains|strong="H8269" of thousands|strong="H0505" and of hundreds|strong="H3967", with the rulers|strong="H8269" of the king’s|strong="H4428" work|strong="H4399", offered willingly|strong="H5068",
7 And gave|strong="H5414" for the service|strong="H5656" of the house|strong="H1004" of God|strong="H0430" of gold|strong="H2091" five|strong="H2568" thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603" and ten thousand|strong="H7239" drams|strong="H0150", and of silver|strong="H3701" ten|strong="H6235" thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603", and of brass|strong="H5178" eighteen|strong="H8083" thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603", and one hundred|strong="H3967" thousand|strong="H0505" talents|strong="H3603" of iron|strong="H1270".
8 And they with whom precious stones|strong="H0068" were found|strong="H4672" gave|strong="H5414" them to the treasure|strong="H0214" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, by the hand|strong="H3027" of Jehiel|strong="H3171" the Gershonite|strong="H1649".
9 Then the people|strong="H5971" rejoiced|strong="H8055", for that they offered willingly|strong="H5068", because with perfect|strong="H8003" heart|strong="H3820" they offered willingly|strong="H5068" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: and David|strong="H1732" the king|strong="H4428" also rejoiced|strong="H8055" with great|strong="H1419" joy|strong="H8057".
10 Wherefore David|strong="H1732" blessed|strong="H1288" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* before|strong="H5869" all the congregation|strong="H6951": and David|strong="H1732" said|strong="H0559", Blessed|strong="H1288" be thou, \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" our father|strong="H0001", for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769" and ever|strong="H5769".
11 Thine, O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, is the greatness|strong="H1420", and the power|strong="H1369", and the glory|strong="H8597", and the victory|strong="H5331", and the majesty|strong="H1935": for all that is in the heaven|strong="H8064" and in the earth|strong="H0776" is thine; thine is the kingdom|strong="H4467", O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and thou art exalted|strong="H4984" as head|strong="H7218" above all.
12 Both riches|strong="H6239" and honour|strong="H3519" come of thee|strong="H6440", and thou reignest|strong="H4910" over all; and in thine hand|strong="H3027" is power|strong="H3581" and might|strong="H1369"; and in thine hand|strong="H3027" it is to make great|strong="H1431", and to give strength|strong="H2388" unto all.
13 Now therefore, our God|strong="H0430", we thank|strong="H3034" thee, and praise|strong="H1984" thy glorious|strong="H8597" name|strong="H8034".
14 But who am I, and what is my people|strong="H5971", that we should be|strong="H6113" able|strong="H3581" to offer so willingly|strong="H5068" after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own|strong="H3027" have we given|strong="H5414" thee.
15 For we are strangers|strong="H1616" before|strong="H6440" thee, and sojourners|strong="H8453", as were all our fathers|strong="H0001": our days|strong="H3117" on the earth|strong="H0776" are as a shadow|strong="H6738", and there is none abiding|strong="H4723".
16 O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430", all this store|strong="H1995" that we have prepared|strong="H3559" to build|strong="H1129" thee an house|strong="H1004" for thine holy|strong="H6944" name|strong="H8034" cometh of thine hand|strong="H3027", and is all thine own.
17 I know|strong="H3045" also, my God|strong="H0430", that thou triest|strong="H0974" the heart|strong="H3824", and hast pleasure|strong="H7521" in uprightness|strong="H3476". As for me, in the uprightness|strong="H4339" of mine heart|strong="H3824" I have willingly offered|strong="H5068" all these things: and now have I seen|strong="H7200" with joy|strong="H8057" thy people|strong="H5971", which are present|strong="H4672" here, to offer willingly|strong="H5068" unto thee.
18 O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Abraham|strong="H0085", Isaac|strong="H3327", and of Israel|strong="H3478", our fathers|strong="H0001", keep|strong="H8104" this for ever|strong="H5769" in the imagination|strong="H3336" of the thoughts|strong="H4284" of the heart|strong="H3824" of thy people|strong="H5971", and prepare|strong="H3559" their heart|strong="H3824" unto thee:
19 And give|strong="H5414" unto Solomon|strong="H8010" my son|strong="H1121" a perfect|strong="H8003" heart|strong="H3824", to keep|strong="H8104" thy commandments|strong="H4687", thy testimonies|strong="H5715", and thy statutes|strong="H2706", and to do|strong="H6213" all these things, and to build|strong="H1129" the palace|strong="H1002", for the which I have made provision|strong="H3559".
20 And David|strong="H1732" said|strong="H0559" to all the congregation|strong="H6951", Now bless|strong="H1288" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430". And all the congregation|strong="H6951" blessed|strong="H1288" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of their fathers|strong="H0001", and bowed down their heads|strong="H6915", and worshipped|strong="H7812" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the king|strong="H4428".
21 And they sacrificed|strong="H2076" sacrifices|strong="H2077" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and offered|strong="H5927" burnt offerings|strong="H5930" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, on the morrow|strong="H4283" after that day|strong="H3117", even a thousand|strong="H0505" bullocks|strong="H6499", a thousand|strong="H0505" rams|strong="H0352", and a thousand|strong="H0505" lambs|strong="H3532", with their drink offerings|strong="H5262", and sacrifices|strong="H2077" in abundance|strong="H7230" for all Israel|strong="H3478":
22 And did eat|strong="H0398" and drink|strong="H8354" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* on that day|strong="H3117" with great|strong="H1419" gladness|strong="H8057". And they made Solomon|strong="H8010" the son|strong="H1121" of David|strong="H1732" king|strong="H4427" the second time|strong="H8145", and anointed|strong="H4886" him unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* to be the chief governor|strong="H5057", and Zadok|strong="H6659" to be priest|strong="H3548".
23 Then Solomon|strong="H8010" sat on|strong="H3427" the throne|strong="H3678" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* as king|strong="H4428" instead of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001", and prospered|strong="H6743"; and all Israel|strong="H3478" obeyed|strong="H8085" him.
24 And all the princes|strong="H8269", and the mighty men|strong="H1368", and all the sons|strong="H1121" likewise of king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732", submitted themselves|strong="H5414" unto Solomon|strong="H8010" the king|strong="H4428".
25 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* magnified|strong="H1431" Solomon|strong="H8010" exceedingly|strong="H4605" in the sight|strong="H5869" of all Israel|strong="H3478", and bestowed|strong="H5414" upon him such royal|strong="H4438" majesty|strong="H1935" as had not been on any king|strong="H4428" before|strong="H6440" him in Israel|strong="H3478".
26 Thus David|strong="H1732" the son|strong="H1121" of Jesse|strong="H3448" reigned|strong="H4427" over all Israel|strong="H3478".
27 And the time|strong="H3117" that he reigned|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" was forty|strong="H0705" years|strong="H8141"; seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141" reigned|strong="H4427" he in Hebron|strong="H2275", and thirty|strong="H7970" and three|strong="H7969" years reigned|strong="H4427" he in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
28 And he died|strong="H4191" in a good|strong="H2896" old age|strong="H7872", full|strong="H7649" of days|strong="H3117", riches|strong="H6239", and honour|strong="H3519": and Solomon|strong="H8010" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
29 Now the acts|strong="H1697" of David|strong="H1732" the king|strong="H4428", first|strong="H7223" and last|strong="H0314", behold, they are written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H1697" of Samuel|strong="H8050" the seer|strong="H7200", and in the book|strong="H1697" of Nathan|strong="H5416" the prophet|strong="H5030", and in the book|strong="H1697" of Gad|strong="H1410" the seer|strong="H2374",
30 With all his reign|strong="H4438" and his might|strong="H1369", and the times|strong="H6256" that went over|strong="H5674" him, and over Israel|strong="H3478", and over all the kingdoms|strong="H4467" of the countries|strong="H0776".
