1 The inscription of a title to David himself. Preserve me, O Lord, for I have put trust in thee.
1 Guarda-me, ó Deus, pois em ti eu tenho segurança!
2 I have said to the Lord, thou art my God, for thou hast no need of my goods.
2 Eu disse a Deus, o Senhor : “Tu és o meu Senhor; tudo o que tenho de bom vem de ti.”
3 To the saints, who are in his land, he hath made wonderful all my desires in them.
3 Como são admiráveis as pessoas que se dedicam a Deus! O meu maior prazer é estar na companhia delas.
4 Their infirmities were multiplied: afterwards they made haste. I will not gather together their meetings for blood offerings: nor will I be mindful of their names by my lips.
4 Aqueles que correm atrás de outros deuses trazem muito sofrimento para si mesmos. Eu não tomarei parte nas suas ofertas de sangue, nem adorarei os seus deuses.
5 The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: it is thou that wilt restore my inheritance to me.
5 Tu, ó Senhor Deus, és tudo o que tenho. O meu futuro está nas tuas mãos; tu diriges a minha vida.
6 The lines are fallen unto me in goodly places: for my inheritance is goodly to me.
6 Como são boas as bênçãos que me dás! Como são maravilhosas!
7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover my reins also have corrected me even till night.
7 Eu louvo a Deus, o Senhor , pois ele é o meu conselheiro, e durante a noite a minha consciência me avisa.
8 I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I be not moved.
8 Estou certo de que o Senhor está sempre comigo; ele está ao meu lado direito, e nada pode me abalar.
9 Therefore my heart hath been glad, and my tongue hath rejoiced: moreover my flesh also shall rest in hope.
9 Por isso o meu coração está feliz e alegre, e eu, um ser mortal, me sinto bem seguro,
10 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; nor wilt then give thy holy one to see corruption.
10 porque tu, ó Deus, me proteges do poder da morte. Eu tenho te servido fielmente, e por isso não deixarás que eu desça ao
11 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt fill me with joy with thy countenance: at thy right hand are delights even to the end.
11 Tu me mostras o caminho que leva à vida. A tua presença me enche de alegria e me traz felicidade para sempre.
