1 Come now the rich ones, weep you crying aloud over the miseries of you those coming.
1 Prestem atenção, vocês que são ricos. Chorem e gemam de angústia por causa das desgraças que os esperam.
2 The wealth of you has decayed, and the garments of you motheaten have become;
2 Sua riqueza apodreceu, e suas roupas finas são trapos comidos por traças.
3 the gold of you and the silver have become rusty, and the rust of them for a witness to you will be, and will eat the bodies of you as fire; you laid up treasure in last days.
3 Seu ouro e sua prata estão corroídos. A mesma riqueza com a qual vocês contavam devorará sua carne como fogo. Esse tesouro corroído que vocês acumularam testemunhará contra vocês nos últimos dias.
4 Lo, the reward of the laborers of those having reaped the fields of you, that having been withheld by you, cries out; and the loud cries of the reapers into the ears of Lord of armies have entered.
4 Por isso, ouçam os clamores dos que trabalharam em seus campos, cujo salário vocês retiveram de modo fraudulento! Sim, os clamores dos que fizeram a colheita em seus campos chegaram aos ouvidos do Senhor dos Exércitos.
5 You lived luxuriously on the earth, and were wanton; you nourished the hearts of you as in a day of slaughter.
5 Vocês levam uma vida de luxo na terra, satisfazendo seus desejos e engordando a si mesmos para o dia do abate.
6 You condemned, you murdered the just ones; not he opposes you.
6 Condenam e matam inocentes, sem que eles resistam.
7 Be you patient then, brethren, till the presence of the Lord. Lo, the husbandmen expects the precious fruit of the earth, having patience for it till he may receive rain early and latter;
7 Por isso, irmãos, sejam pacientes enquanto esperam a volta do Senhor. Vejam como os lavradores esperam pacientemente as chuvas do outono e da primavera. Com grande expectativa, aguardam o amadurecimento de sua preciosa colheita.
8 be patient also you, establish the hearts of you, because the presence of the Lord has approached.
8 Sejam também pacientes. Fortaleçam-se em seu coração, pois a vinda do Senhor está próxima.
9 Not murmur you against each other, brethren, so that not you may be judged; lo, the judge before the doors has been standing.
9 Irmãos, não se queixem uns dos outros, para que não sejam julgados. Pois, vejam, o Juiz está à porta!
10 An example take you, brethren of me, of the suffering evil and of the patience, the prophets, who spoke in the name of Lord.
10 Irmãos, tomem como exemplo de paciência no sofrimento os profetas que falaram em nome do Senhor.
11 Lo, we call happy those patiently enduring; the patience of Job you heard, and the end of Lord you saw, because very compassionate is the Lord and merciful.
11 Consideramos felizes aqueles que permanecem firmes em meio à aflição. Vocês ouviram falar de Jó, um homem de muita perseverança. Sabem como, no final, o Senhor foi bondoso com ele, pois o Senhor é cheio de compaixão e misericórdia.
12 Above all things but, brethren of me, not do you swear neither the heaven, nor the earth, nor other any oath; let be but of you the yes, yes, and the no, no; so that not under judgment you may fall.
12 Acima de tudo, meus irmãos, não jurem pelo céu, nem pela terra, nem por qualquer outra coisa. Que seu “sim” seja de fato sim, e seu “não”, não, para que não pequem e sejam condenados.
13 Suffers evil any one among you, let him pray, is cheerful any one, let him sing.
13 Algum de vocês está passando por dificuldades? Então ore. Alguém está feliz? Cante louvores.
14 Is sick any one among you, let him call for the elders of the congregation, and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil, in the name of the Lord.
14 Alguém está doente? Chame os presbíteros da igreja para que venham e orem sobre ele e o unjam com óleo, em nome do Senhor.
15 And the prayer of the faith shall save the one being sick, and will raise him the Lord; and if sins may be having been done, they shall be forgiven him.
15 Essa oração de fé curará o enfermo, e o Senhor o restabelecerá. E, se cometeu algum pecado, será perdoado.
16 Confess you to each other the faults, and pray you on behalf of each other, so that you may be healed; greatly prevails a prayer of a just being operative.
16 Portanto, confessem seus pecados uns aos outros e orem uns pelos outros para serem curados. A oração de um justo tem grande poder e produz grandes resultados.
17 Elias a man was of like infirmities with us, and a prayer he prayed of the not to rain; and not it rained on the earth years three and months six;
17 Elias era humano como nós e, no entanto, quando orou insistentemente para que não caísse chuva, não choveu durante três anos e meio.
18 and again he prayed, and the heaven rain gave, and the earth put forth the fruit of herself.
18 Então ele orou outra vez e o céu enviou chuva, e a terra começou a produzir suas colheitas.
19 Brethren, if any one among you may wander from the truth, and may turn back any one him, let him know, that the one having turned a sinner out of wandering way of him, will save a soul from death, and will hide a multitude of sins.
19 Meus irmãos, se algum de vocês se desviar da verdade e for trazido de volta,
20 — ausente —
20 saibam que quem trouxer o pecador de volta de seu desvio o salvará da morte e trará perdão para muitos pecados.
