1 In those days, there being again a great crowd, and they having nothing that they could eat, having called his disciples to {him}, he says to them,
1 Naqueles dias, sendo a multidão muito grande, e não tendo o que comer, Jesus chamou a si os seus discípulos, e disse-lhes:
2 I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed with me already three days and they have not anything they can eat,
2 Eu tenho compaixão da multidão, porque já estão comigo há três dias, e não têm o que comer;
3 and if I should dismiss them to their home fasting, they will faint on the way; for some of them are come from far.
3 e, se os deixar ir em jejum, para suas casas, desfalecerão no caminho; porquanto vários deles vieram de longe.
4 And his disciples answered him, Whence shall one be able to satisfy these with bread here in a desert place?
4 E os seus discípulos responderam-lhe: De onde poderá um homem satisfazer estes homens com pão aqui no deserto?
5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
5 E ele perguntou-lhes: Quantos pães tendes? E disseram-lhe: Sete.
6 And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. And having taken the seven loaves, he gave thanks, and broke {them} and gave {them} to his disciples, that they might set {them} before {them}; and they set {them} before the crowd.
6 E ele ordenou ao povo que se assentasse no chão. E, tomando os sete pães, e tendo dado graças, partiu-os, e deu-os aos seus discípulos, para colocarem diante deles, e puseram-nos diante do povo.
7 And they had a few small fishes, and having blessed them, he desired these also to be set before {them}.
7 E tendo alguns pequenos peixes, ele os abençoou, e também ordenou-lhes para que colocassem diante deles.
8 And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up of fragments that remained seven baskets. () So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken {meat} that was left seven baskets.
8 Então eles comeram, e saciaram-se; e tomaram dos pedaços que sobraram, sete cestos.
9 And they {that had eaten} were about four thousand; and he sent them away.
9 E os que haviam comido eram cerca de quatro mil; e ele os despediu.
10 And immediately going on board ship with his disciples, he came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
10 E ele entrando imediatamente no barco com os seus discípulos, foi para as regiões de Dalmanuta.
11 And the Pharisees went out and began to dispute against him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
11 E vindo os fariseus, começaram a questioná-lo, tentando-o, procurando um sinal do céu.
12 And groaning in his spirit, he says, Why does this generation seek a sign? Verily I say unto you, A sign shall in no wise be given to this generation.
12 E, suspirando profundamente em seu espírito, disse: Por que procura esta geração um sinal? Na verdade eu vos digo que a esta geração não se dará nenhum sinal.
13 And he left them, and going again on board ship, went away to the other side.
13 E, deixando-os, tornou a entrar no barco, e foi para o outro lado.
14 And they forgot to take bread, and save one loaf, they had not {any} with them in the ship.
14 Ora, os discípulos tinham se esquecido de levar pães, e no barco não tinham consigo senão um pão.
15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and {of} the leaven of Herod.
15 E ele ordenou-lhes, dizendo: Fiquem atentos, guardai-vos do fermento dos fariseus e do fermento de Herodes.
16 And they reasoned with one another, {saying}, It is because we have no bread.
16 E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: Isto é porque não temos pão.
17 And Jesus knowing {it}, says to them, Why reason ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet perceive nor understand? Have ye your heart {yet} hardened?
17 E Jesus, percebendo isso, disse-lhes: Por que argumentais, por não terdes pão? Ainda não percebeis, nem compreendeis? Tendes ainda o vosso coração endurecido?
18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
18 Tendo olhos, não vedes? E tendo ouvidos, não ouvis? E não vos lembrais?
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say to him, Twelve.
19 Quando eu parti os cinco pães entre os cinco mil, quantos cestos cheios de pedaços tomastes? E eles disseram-lhe: Doze.
20 And when the seven for the four thousand, the filling of how many baskets of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
20 E, quando parti os sete entre os quatro mil, quantos cestos cheios de pedaços tomastes? E disseram-lhe: Sete.
21 And he said to them, How do ye not yet understand?
21 E ele lhes disse: Como é que vocês não compreendem ainda?
22 And he comes to Bethsaida; and they bring him a blind man, and beseech him that he might touch him.
22 E ele chegou a Betsaida; e trouxeram-lhe um homem cego, e pediram-lhe para tocá-lo.
23 And taking hold of the hand of the blind man he led him forth out of the village, and having spit upon his eyes, he laid his hands upon him, and asked him if he beheld anything.
23 E ele tomou o homem cego pela mão, e o levou para fora da aldeia; e ele cuspindo nos seus olhos, e impondo suas mãos sobre ele, perguntou-lhe se ele enxergava alguma coisa.
24 And having looked up, he said, I behold men, for I see {them}, as trees, walking.
24 E ele, olhando para cima, disse: Eu vejo homens como árvores, andando.
25 Then he laid his hands again upon his eyes, and he saw distinctly, and was restored and saw all things clearly.
25 Depois disto, ele colocou novamente suas mãos sobre os seus olhos, e o fez olhar para cima; e ele foi restaurado, e viu a cada homem claramente.
26 And he sent him to his house, saying, Neither enter into the village, nor tell {it} to any one in the village.
26 E ele o mandou embora para sua casa, dizendo: Nem entres na aldeia, nem o digas a ninguém da aldeia.
27 And Jesus went forth and his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea-Philippi. And by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Who do men say that I am?
27 E saiu Jesus, e os seus discípulos, para as aldeias de Cesareia de Filipe; no caminho ele perguntou aos seus discípulos, dizendo: Quem dizem os homens que eu sou?
28 And they answered him, saying, John the baptist; and others, Elias; but others, One of the prophets.
28 E eles responderam: João, o Batista; mas alguns dizem: Elias; e outros: Um dos profetas.
29 And he asked them, But *ye*, who do ye say that I am? And Peter answering says to him, *Thou* art the Christ.
29 E ele lhes disse: Mas vós, quem dizeis que eu sou? E, respondendo Pedro, lhe disse: Tu és o Cristo.
30 And he charged them straitly, in order that they should tell no man about him.
30 E ele ordenou-lhes que não contassem a nenhum homem sobre ele.
31 And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and of the chief priests and of the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise {again}.
31 E ele começou a ensinar-lhes que o Filho do homem deveria sofrer muitas coisas, e ser rejeitado pelos anciãos, e pelos principais sacerdotes e escribas, que fosse morto, e após três dias ressuscitar.
32 And he spoke the thing openly. And Peter, taking him to {him}, began to rebuke him.
32 E ele falava estas palavras publicamente. E Pedro, tomando-o, começou a repreendê-lo.
33 But he, turning round and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get away behind me, Satan, for thy mind is not on the things that are of God, but on the things that are of men.
33 Mas ele, virando-se, e olhando para os seus discípulos, repreendeu a Pedro, dizendo: Para trás de mim, Satanás; porque tu não tens gosto das coisas que são de Deus, mas das coisas que são dos homens.
34 And having called the crowd with his disciples, he said to them, Whoever desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.
34 E chamando a si a multidão, com os seus discípulos, disse-lhes: Se alguém quiser vir após mim, negue-se a si mesmo, tome a sua cruz, e siga-me.
35 For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's shall save it.
35 Porque aquele que quiser salvar a sua vida, perdê-la-á; mas quem perder a sua vida por minha causa e do evangelho, salvá-la-á.
36 For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul?
36 Porquanto, que lucro tem o homem em ganhar o mundo inteiro, se perder a sua própria alma?
37 for what should a man give in exchange for his soul?
37 Ou que dará o homem em troca de sua alma?
38 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him shall the Son of man also be ashamed when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
38 Porquanto, qualquer que, entre esta geração adúltera e pecadora, se envergonhar de mim e das minhas palavras, também dele se envergonhará o Filho do homem, quando vier na glória de seu Pai, com os santos anjos.
