1 Dare any one of you, having a matter against another, prosecute his suit before the unjust, and not before the saints?
1 Quando algum de vocês tem um desentendimento com outro irmão, como se atreve a recorrer a um tribunal e pedir que injustos decidam a questão em vez de levá-la ao povo santo?
2 Do ye not then know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy of {the} smallest judgments?
2 Vocês não sabem que um dia nós, os santos, julgaremos o mundo? E, uma vez que vocês julgarão o mundo, acaso não são capazes de decidir entre vocês nem mesmo essas pequenas causas?
3 Do ye not know that we shall judge angels? and not then matters of this life?
3 Não sabem que julgaremos os anjos? Que dizer, então, dos desentendimentos corriqueiros desta vida?
4 If then ye have judgments as to things of this life, set those {to judge} who are little esteemed in the assembly.
4 Se vocês têm conflitos legais, por que levá-los para fora da igreja, a juízes que não fazem parte dela?
5 I speak to you {to put you} to shame. Thus there is not a wise person among you, not even one, who shall be able to decide between his brethren!
5 Digo isso para envergonhá-los. Ninguém entre vocês tem sabedoria suficiente para resolver essas questões?
6 But brother prosecutes his suit with brother, and that before unbelievers.
6 Em vez disso, um irmão processa outro irmão diante dos descrentes!
7 Already indeed then it is altogether a fault in you that ye have suits between yourselves. Why do ye not rather suffer wrong? why are ye not rather defrauded?
7 O simples fato de terem essas ações judiciais entre si já é uma derrota para vocês. Por que não aceitar a injustiça sofrida? Por que não arcar com o prejuízo?
8 But *ye* do wrong, and defraud, and this {your} brethren.
8 Em vez disso, vocês mesmos cometem injustiças e causam prejuízos até contra os próprios irmãos.
9 Do ye not know that unrighteous {persons} shall not inherit {the} kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men,
9 Vocês não sabem que os injustos não herdarão o reino de Deus? Não se enganem: aqueles que se envolvem em imoralidade sexual, adoram ídolos, cometem adultério, se entregam a práticas homossexuais,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor abusive persons, nor {the} rapacious, shall inherit {the} kingdom of God.
10 são ladrões, avarentos, bêbados, insultam as pessoas ou exploram os outros não herdarão o reino de Deus.
11 And these things were some of you; but ye have been washed, but ye have been sanctified, but ye have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
11 Alguns de vocês eram assim, mas foram purificados e santificados, declarados justos diante de Deus no nome do Senhor Jesus Cristo e pelo Espírito de nosso Deus.
12 All things are lawful to me, but all things do not profit; all things are lawful to me, but *I* will not be brought under the power of any.
12 “Tudo me é permitido”, mas nem tudo convém. “Tudo me é permitido”, mas não devo me tornar escravo de nada.
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats; but God will bring to nothing both it and them: but the body {is} not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
13 “Os alimentos foram feitos para o estômago, e o estômago para os alimentos.” É verdade, mas um dia Deus acabará com os dois. Vocês, contudo, não podem dizer que nosso corpo foi feito para a imoralidade sexual. Ele foi feito para o Senhor, e o relacionamento que o Senhor tem conosco inclui nosso corpo.
14 And God has both raised up the Lord, and will raise us up from among {the dead} by his power.
14 Portanto, Deus nos ressuscitará dos mortos por seu poder, assim como ressuscitou o Senhor.
15 Do ye not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then, taking the members of the Christ, make {them} members of a harlot? Far be the thought.
15 Vocês não sabem que seu corpo é, na realidade, membro de Cristo? Acaso um homem deve tomar seu corpo, que faz parte de Cristo, e uni-lo a uma prostituta? De maneira nenhuma!
16 Do ye not know that he {that is} joined to the harlot is one body? for the two, he says, shall be one flesh.
16 E vocês não sabem que se um homem se une a uma prostituta ele se torna um corpo com ela? Pois as Escrituras dizem: “Os dois se tornam um só”.
17 But he that {is} joined to the Lord is one Spirit.
17 Mas a pessoa que se une ao Senhor tem com ele uma união de espírito.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin which a man may practise is without the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.
18 Fujam da imoralidade sexual! Nenhum outro pecado afeta o corpo como esse, pois a imoralidade sexual é um pecado contra o próprio corpo.
19 Do ye not know that your body is {the} temple of the Holy Spirit which {is} in you, which ye have of God; and ye are not your own?
19 Vocês não sabem que seu corpo é o templo do Espírito Santo, que habita em vocês e lhes foi dado por Deus? Vocês não pertencem a si mesmos,
20 for ye have been bought with a price: glorify now then God in your body.
20 pois foram comprados por alto preço. Portanto, honrem a Deus com seu corpo.
