5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Pero mach che'iqui añetla. Pero jatyetla yajcʌbil bʌ junmujch' quixtyañujetla tsa' bʌ yajcʌyetla Dios. I curajetla jini mu' bʌ la' cha'liben i toñel ñuc bʌ yumʌl. Junmujch' quixtyañujetla tsa' bʌ la' wʌc'ʌ la' bʌ ti Dios. I cha'añetla Dios. Chʌ'ʌch ti yajcʌntiyetla cha'an mi la' tsictisan ñuc bʌ i cha'libal Dios. Ti' pʌyʌyetla loq'uel ti ic't'ojñal cha'an mi la' wajñel ti ñoj ñuc bʌ i sʌclel Dios.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;

10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 P'untyʌbilet bʌ la hermañujob, mij c'ajtibeñetla ti wocol t'an cha'an mach'an mi la' mele' chʌ bʌ mi' mulan i bajñel la' pusic'al mu' bʌ i cha'len contrajiya ti la' pusic'al. Como mach wʌ'ic an la' lumal wʌ' ti mulawil.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Ajñenla ti tyoj ti' tyojlel jini mach'ʌ ba'an mi' cʌñob Dios. Che' jini aunque mi' cha'len t'an ti la' contra che' bajche' mi lolon al simaroñetla, pero mi quej i yilan jini wen bʌ la' cha'libal. Mi quej i sub i ñuclel Dios cha'an ti caj jatyetla ti i yorojlel melojel.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Cha'an ti caj lac Yum, ac'ʌ la' bʌ ti' wenta ti pejtyelel año' bʌ ye'tyel tsa'ix bʌ wa'choconti ti quixtyañujob. Ac'ʌ la' bʌ ti' wenta jini más ñuc bʌ yumʌl como ñuc i ye'tyel.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Como yom Dios cha'an ti wen bʌ la' cha'libal mi la' ñʌch'tyʌsʌbeñob jini mach'ʌ ba'an mi' ña'tyañob yic'ot tonto bʌ quixtyañujob.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Ajñenla ti la' librejlel che' ma'ix chuculetla ti mulil, pero mach yom mi la' lolon cha'len mach bʌ wen bʌ cha'an ti caj libre añetla. Ajñenla ti wen che' bajche' ajtroñelet jach la i cha'an Dios.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Q'uelela ti ñuc ti pejtyelel quixtyañujob. P'untyañob la quermañujob. Bʌc'ñanla Dios. Q'uele ti ñuc jini am bʌ más ñuc bʌ ye'tyel.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Ajtroñelob, ch'ujbibenla i t'an la' yum wʌ' ti mulawil. Q'uelela ti ñuc. Mach i bajñelic yom mi la' q'uel ti ñuc jini weño' bʌ yic'ot uts bʌ la' wic'ot, pero q'uele ti ñuc je'el jini simaron bʌ la' yum.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Cha'an ti caj la com lac mel chʌ bʌ yom Dios mi laj cuch ti wen lac wocol che' ma'ix lac mul. Weñʌch mi' q'uelonla Dios.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Pero mi ti caj la' simaronlel mi la' xot' la' mul, ¿am ba la' ñuclel che' mi la' cuch ti wen jini wocol? Mach'an. Pero mi ti ñʌch'ʌl ti la' ñusʌ wocol cha'an ti caj wen bʌ ti la' cha'le, weñʌch mi' q'ueletla Dios.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Dios ti' pʌyʌyetla la' ñusan wocol. Chʌ'ʌch ti' ñusʌ wocol Cristo cha'añetla. Ti' pʌsbeyetla bajche' yom mi la' ñusan cha'an chʌ'ʌch lajal mi la' ñusan je'el.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Mach'an ti' saj cha'le mulil Cristo. Ma'ix ba' bʌ ora ti' loti quixtyañujob.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Che' ñac ti wajlenti mach'an ti' q'uextyʌbe t'an. Che' ñac ti yʌq'ueyob i ñusan wocol mach'an ti' bʌc'tisʌyob. Pero ti yʌc'ʌ i bʌ ti' c'ʌb Dios mu' bʌ i cha'len tyoj bʌ melojel.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Cristo i bajñel ti' ch'ʌmʌ ti' wenta i xot' lac mul ti cruz cha'añonla. Che' bajche' tsa'ix sajtiyonla cha'an ma'ix mi lac bej cha'len mulil. Cha'an cuxulonla mi la cajñel ti tyoj. Cha'an ti' ñusʌ wocol ti' lajmisʌyonla.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.

25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
