2 Kabo baakan koro nyufini ni, am gusu, am koro Nyɛmɛ nɔaniɛ n bo i ti ka nɔnɔ casi ni, nyini buka am ye am koro nyi na am nya tiide a,
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 dama ambɛrɛ ni am tii si kabo Micɛra n ti kpa barasu.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Dama ba kɛrɛ i Nyɛmɛ Jɔrɛ Kadasi n nu ka, Nyɛmɛ ŋa,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Tɔ, ambɛrɛ bo am ayo i yarada ni, am anya deke bo i la anyunuyi ni, ama, minɛm bo bu yo má i yarada ni, ba kɛrɛ i Nyɛmɛ Jɔrɛ Kadasi n nu ka,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Na ba kaaki akɛrɛ i Nyɛmɛ Jɔrɛ Kadasi n nu ka,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ama, ambɛrɛ, am ti daanfiɛ n bo Nyɛmɛ ayi am wɔ, am ti sayoowa dɔŋguyofɔm bo am su Nyɛmɛ bo i ti am fɛmɛ n wɔ, am ti Nyɛmɛ dɛɛ minɛ casim wɔ, am ti Nyɛmɛ dɛɛ awurunbaam wɔ. Yiri ye wɔ yi am ka am kan i sakpam kere minɛm a, dama wɔ yi am afite awosin nu, afa am awura i dɛɛ wein n bo i la má aŋusu n nu.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ba kɛrɛ i Nyɛmɛ Jɔrɛ Kadasi n nu ka,
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 M danfo kpam, am ti wɔfɔm wɔ, ni minɛm bo bu la má woobiri durunya n nu fɛn, nyini dɛɛ ti, m sere am ni anyumboro wɔ, má am ma am nyunu boro am aŋuniɛmbaa koroowa su, dama am aŋuniɛmbaa koroowam sukoro ka bu kunma am wɔ.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Am ma am woowa ti kpa, na nzɛn minɛm bo bu su má Nyɛmɛ n jaraki am fa kɔ satiɛ be su, bu ba ŋu am sakpa n bo am yo i ni, na bu kánsi Nyɛmɛ, cɛɛn n bo i bá niɛ i minɛm su ni.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Ya Mibiɛ n dɛɛ ti, am de nfaŋgafɔm kɛrɛ nɔaniɛ, fɛmɛ bo i niɛ adamande kɛrɛ su ni,
13 — ausente —
14 ni nkpiɛnkpiɛnm bo wɔ yi bu ka bu suniɛ am su ni, am de bu nɔaniɛ, dama ba fa bu ase ka bu cin minɛm bo bu yo satiɛ n sui wɔ, na bu kansi minɛm bo bu yo sakpa ni.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Nyɛmɛ koro ka am yo sakpa a, na minɛm bo bu ti sinnzinm na bu si má be ni, na bu si má kabo bu kan.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Am ti minɛm bo am ade am tii wɔ, má am niɛ ka am anya am tii n dɛɛ ti, na am sufiɛ yo satiɛ. Ama, am ma am woowa ti kabo Nyɛmɛ akɔɔm woowa ti barasu ni.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Am bu sɔnɔ kɛrɛ sɔnɔ, am koro am ninbaam kɛrɛ, am soro Nyɛmɛ, na am bu Romafɔm fɛmɛ kpiri ni.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Ambɛrɛ bo am ti akɔɔm ni, am de am mibiɛm nɔaniɛ, na am bu bu nahɔrɛ su, má ka bo bu ti bɛnlɛ na bu yo am sakpa ni ŋgumi, ama, haari bo bu ti tiɛ ni mmɔɔ, am bu bu.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Nzɛn am ayo má satiɛ be, na bu kere am wahara na am mindi deeri i, ka am soro Nyɛmɛ n dɛɛ ti, nyini ti kpa a.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Nzu kpɛrɛ ye am nyá i a, nzɛn am yoori satiɛ na bu boori am na am mindi deeri i? Ama, nzɛn am yoori sakpa, na bu kere am wahara, na am mindi deeri i, nyini ti kpa Nyɛmɛ dɔ a.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Nyini dɛɛ ti, ye Nyɛmɛ afere am a, dama Kristo ni i tii adi wahara ama am, nyini kere am ka i ti ye ni ka am sɔn i su di i wahara n be.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Bu ŋa, yiri,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Bu kpiɛɛri i nzukɔ ni, wɔ wɔrɔ má nzukɔ ama má bu. Bu kereeri i wahara ni, wɔ se má bu ka bu ŋú i. Ama, yiri faari i deke kɛrɛ maari Nyɛmɛ wɔ, yiri bo i di jɔrɛ bo i kɔ atin su ni.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
Wahara n bo Kristo diiri i ŋuniɛ nu n dɛɛ ti, ye am anya laifiɛ a.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Am yo ti ka nbɔɛm bo ba mini wɔ, ama, kisa, am akaaki aba yiri bo i ti am sasafɔ na i niɛ am dika n dɔ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
