Atos 15

1 Some men came from Judea and taught the Christian brothers. They said, You must be circumcised with the mark made on your body in the way Moses taught us. If you are not circumcised you cannot be saved.
1 Então alguns que tinham descido da Judéia ensinavam assim os irmãos: Se não vos circuncidardes conforme o uso de Moisés, não podeis salvar-vos.
2 Paul and Barnabas did not agree with them. There was much talking about it. Then they decided that Paul and Barnabas and some of the other men should go to Jerusalem. They would ask the apostles and church leaders there about it.
2 Tendo tido Paulo e Barnabé não pequena discussão e contenda contra eles, resolveu-se que Paulo e Barnabé, e alguns dentre eles, subissem a Jerusalém, aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, sobre aquela questão.
3 So the church people sent them on their way. They passed through the districts of Phoenicia and Samaria. They told them that some who were not Jews were believing in God. This news made all the Christian brothers very happy.
3 E eles, sendo acompanhados pela igreja, passavam pela Fenícia e por Samaria, contando a conversão dos gentios; e davam grande alegria a todos os irmãos.
4 When they reached Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church people, the apostles, and the church leaders. They told all that God had done as he worked with them.
4 E, quando chegaram a Jerusalém, foram recebidos pela igreja e pelos apóstolos e anciãos, e lhes anunciaram quão grandes coisas Deus tinha feito com eles.
5 But some of the believers who belonged to the Pharisee group stood up and said, They must be circumcised
5 Alguns, porém, da seita dos fariseus, que tinham crido, se levantaram, dizendo que era mister circuncidá-los e mandar-lhes que guardassem a lei de Moisés.
6 The apostles and the church leaders met together to talk the matter over.
6 Congregaram-se, pois, os apóstolos e os anciãos para considerar este assunto.
7 After much talking about it, Peter stood up. He said, Men and brothers, you know what happened in the first days. God chose me to tell the good news to those who are not Jews. They believed.
7 E, havendo grande contenda, levantou-se Pedro e disse-lhes: Homens irmãos, bem sabeis que já há muito tempo Deus me elegeu dentre nós, para que os gentios ouvissem da minha boca a palavra do evangelho, e cressem.
8 God knows what is in a persons heart. He proved that they believed. He gave them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us.
8 E Deus, que conhece os corações, lhes deu testemunho, dando-lhes o Espírito Santo, assim como também a nós;
9 God made no difference between them and us. He made their hearts clean when they believed.
9 E não fez diferença alguma entre eles e nós, purificando os seus corações pela fé.
10 So now why are you doing what God did not do? You give the disciples a hard thing to do. Our fathers could not do it. And we cannot do it.
10 Agora, pois, por que tentais a Deus, pondo sobre a cerviz dos discípulos um jugo que nem nossos pais nem nós pudemos suportar?
11 We believe that the Lord Jesus saves us because he is kind. And that is why he saves them.
11 Mas cremos que seremos salvos pela graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo, como eles também.
12 Then all the people stopped talking. They listened to what Paul and Barnabas had to say. They told them about all the signs and wonderful things that God had helped them to do among the people who were not Jews.
12 Então toda a multidão se calou e escutava a Barnabé e a Paulo, que contavam quão grandes sinais e prodígios Deus havia feito por meio deles entre os gentios.
13 When they had finished talking, James said, Men and brothers, listen to me.
13 E, havendo-se eles calado, tomou Tiago a palavra, dizendo: Homens irmãos, ouvi-me:
14 Simeon has told us how God came the first time to the people who are not Jews. God chose some of them to belong to him and be his people.
14 Simão relatou como primeiramente Deus visitou os gentios, para tomar deles um povo para o seu nome.
15 This is what the prophets of God said long ago.
15 E com isto concordam as palavras dos profetas; como está escrito:
16 They said, "After this, I will come back and build up again the house of David which has fallen down. I will take the broken pieces and build a house again.
16 Depois disto voltarei,e reedificarei o tabernáculo de Davi, que está caído, levantá-lo-ei das suas ruínas, e tornarei a edificá-lo.
17 Then all the other people will find God, even those who are not Jews but who belong to me. So says the Lord, who is doing all these things."
17 Para que o restante dos homens busque ao Senhor,e todos os gentios, sobre os quais o meu nome é invocado,diz o Senhor, que faz todas estas coisas,
18 He told us these things long ago.
18 Conhecidas sào a Deus, desde o princípio do mundo, todas as suas obras.
19 So now, this is what I think. We should not trouble those who are not Jews but who have turned to God.
19 Por isso julgo que não se deve perturbar aqueles, dentre os gentios, que se convertem a Deus.
20 We should write them a letter and tell them what they must not do. They must not eat food that has been given to idols. They must not have sex with someone who is not their husband or wife. They must not eat the meat of animals that are killed by choking. They must not taste blood.
20 Mas escrever-lhes que se abstenham das contaminações dos ídolos, da fornicação, do que é sufocado e do sangue.
21 Since the times of long ago there have been men who told about Moses in every city. They read his laws in the meeting places every Sabbath day.
21 Porque Moisés, desde os tempos antigos, tem em cada cidade quem o pregue, e cada sábado é lido nas sinagogas.
22 Then the apostles, and the leaders, and all the church people chose men from among themselves. They sent them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas, whose other name was Barsabbas, and Silas. They were leaders among the Christian brothers.
22 Então pareceu bem aos apóstolos e aos anciãos, com toda a igreja, eleger homens dentre eles e enviá-los com Paulo e Barnabé a Antioquia, a saber: Judas, chamado Barsabás, e Silas, homens distintos entre os irmãos.
23 They sent a letter with them. It said, The apostles, the church leaders, and the Christian brothers send greetings to the Christians who are not Jews in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia.
23 E por intermédio deles escreveram o seguinte: Os apóstolos, e os anciãos e os irmãos, aos irmãos dentre os gentios que estão em Antioquia, e Síria e Cilícia, saúde.
24 We have heard that some of our people visited you and talked to you. They taught things that troubled you and made you believe wrong things. They said, "You must be circumcised like the Jews and keep the law." We did not tell them to teach you this.
24 Porquanto ouvimos que alguns que saíram dentre nós vos perturbaram com palavras, e transtornaram as vossas almas, dizendo que deveis circuncidar-vos e guardar a lei, não lhes tendo nós dado mandamento,
25 All of us gathered here have chosen some men. We are sending them with our dear brothers, Barnabas and Paul.
25 Pareceu-nos bem, reunidos concordemente, eleger alguns homens e enviá-los com os nossos amados Barnabé e Paulo,
26 Barnabas and Paul have been willing to die for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
26 Homens que já expuseram as suas vidas pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
27 We are sending Judas and Silas. They will tell you the same things that we have written in the letter.
27 Enviamos, portanto, Judas e Silas, os quais por palavra vos anunciarão também as mesmas coisas.
28 The Holy Spirit and we thought it was not good to give you a hard thing to do. But here is what you must not do.
28 Na verdade pareceu bem ao Espírito Santo e a nós, não vos impor mais encargo algum, senão estas coisas necessárias:
29 You must not eat food that has been given to idols. You must not eat the meat of animals that are killed by choking. You must not taste blood. You must not commit adultery. If you keep away from these things, you will do well. Goodbye.
29 Que vos abstenhais das coisas sacrificadas aos ídolos, e do sangue, e da carne sufocada, e da fornicação, das quais coisas bem fazeis se vos guardardes. Bem vos vá.
30 So the men left and went to Antioch. There they called the people together and gave them the letter.
30 Tendo eles então se despedido, partiram para Antioquia e, ajuntando a multidão, entregaram a carta.
31 When the people read the letter, they were very glad. It helped them to become stronger in what they believed.
31 E, quando a leram, alegraram-se pela exortação.
32 Judas and Silas were prophets. They said many things to the Christian brothers and helped them to believe more strongly.
32 Depois Judas e Silas, que também eram profetas, exortaram e confirmaram os irmãos com muitas palavras.
33 They stayed there for a while. Then the brothers sent them back to those who had sent them. They sent a greeting of peace with them.
33 E, detendo-se ali algum tempo, os irmãos os deixaram voltar em paz para os apóstolos;
34 But Silas thought it was good to stay at Antioch.
34 Mas pareceu bem a Silas ficar ali.
35 Paul and Barnabas stayed there too. They taught the people and told them the Lords message. Many other men did this also.
35 E Paulo e Barnabé ficaram em Antioquia, ensinando e pregando, com muitos outros, a palavra do Senhor.
36 Some days later, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us go back and visit the brothers in every city where we have told the Lords message. Let us see how they are doing.
36 E alguns dias depois, disse Paulo a Barnabé: Tornemos a visitar nossos irmãos por todas as cidades em que já anunciamos a palavra do Senhor, para ver como estão.
37 Barnabas wanted to take John Mark with them.
37 E Barnabé aconselhava que tomassem consigo a João, chamado Marcos.
38 But Paul did not think that they should take him. John Mark had left them when they were at Pamphylia. He had not gone along with them to do the work.
38 Mas a Paulo parecia razoável que não tomassem consigo aquele que desde a Panfília se tinha apartado deles e não os acompanhou naquela obra.
39 The feeling about this matter was very strong between Barnabas and Paul, so they did not go together. Barnabas took Mark and went in a boat to Cyprus.
39 E tal contenda houve entre eles, que se apartaram um do outro. Barnabé, levando consigo a Marcos, navegou para Chipre.
40 Paul chose Silas. The Christian brothers asked the Lord to bless Paul. Then he went on his way.
40 E Paulo, tendo escolhido a Silas, partiu, encomendado pelos irmãos à graça de Deus.
41 Paul travelled through Syria and Cilicia. He helped the church people to believe more strongly.
41 E passou pela Síria e Cilícia, confirmando as igrejas.
