1 I saw the Lamb open one of the seven locks. I heard the voice of one of the four living beings call, Come! It sounded like thunder.
1 Então vi o Cordeiro quebrar o primeiro dos sete selos e ouvi um dos quatro seres vivos dizer com voz forte como o barulho de um trovão: — Venha!
2 And I looked and saw a white horse. The man who rode on it had a bow to shoot arrows. A gold crown for his head was given to him. And he went out fighting to win the victory over his enemies.
2 Olhei e vi um cavalo branco. O seu cavaleiro tinha um arco, e lhe deram uma coroa de rei. E ele saiu vencendo e conquistando.
3 When the Lamb opened the second lock, I heard the second living being call, Come!
3 Depois o Cordeiro quebrou o segundo selo. E ouvi o segundo ser vivo dizer: — Venha!
4 And another horse came out. It was red. The man who rode on it was allowed to take peace away from the earth, so that men would kill each other. The man who rode on it was given a long knife or sword.
4 Aí saiu outro cavalo, que era vermelho. O seu cavaleiro recebeu o poder de trazer a guerra ao mundo a fim de que as pessoas matassem umas às outras. E ele recebeu uma grande espada.
5 When the Lamb opened the third lock, I heard the third living being call, Come! I looked and saw a black horse. The man who rode on it had scales in his hand to weigh things.
5 Então o Cordeiro quebrou o terceiro selo. E ouvi o terceiro ser vivo dizer: — Venha! Olhei e vi um cavalo preto. O seu cavaleiro tinha uma balança na mão.
6 I heard a voice among the four living beings. It said, Four cups of wheat for bread will sell for a days wages. Twelve cups of barley will sell for a days wages. But do not destroy the oil and the wine.
6 Ouvi o que parecia ser uma voz, que vinha do meio dos quatro seres vivos e dizia: — Meio quilo de trigo custa o que vocês ganham num dia inteiro de trabalho; e um quilo e meio de
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth lock, I heard the fourth living being call, Come!
7 Depois o Cordeiro quebrou o quarto selo. E ouvi o quarto ser vivo dizer: — Venha!
8 I saw a horse the colour of ashes. The name of the man who rode it was Death. And the one who controls the world of the dead followed him. They were given power over a fourth part of the world. They could kill people with a sword, or by making them go without food to eat, or by making them sick, or with wild animals.
8 Olhei e vi um cavalo amarelo. O seu cavaleiro se chamava Morte, e o mundo dos mortos o seguia. Estes receberam poder sobre a quarta parte da terra, para matar por meio de guerras, fome, doenças e animais selvagens.
9 When the Lamb opened the fifth lock, I saw the souls of people who had been killed. They were under the holy table where incense is burned. They had been killed because they believed Gods word and said they believed it.
9 Então o Cordeiro quebrou o quinto selo. E vi debaixo do altar as almas dos que tinham sido mortos porque haviam anunciado a mensagem de Deus e tinham sido fiéis no seu testemunho.
10 They called in a loud voice, Lord, you are holy and true. How long will you wait before you judge and punish the people on earth because they killed us?
10 Eles gritavam com voz bem forte: — Ó Todo-Poderoso, santo e verdadeiro! Quando julgarás e condenarás os que na terra nos mataram?
11 Then each one of them was given a white gown to wear. They were told to wait a little longer for the other Christian brothers. Those who worked with them for the Lord would be killed as they had been.
11 Cada um deles recebeu uma roupa branca. E foi dito a eles que descansassem um pouco mais, até que se completasse o número dos seus companheiros no trabalho de Cristo, que eram seus irmãos e que iam ser mortos como eles tinham sido.
12 I saw the Lamb opening the sixth lock. The earth shook very much. The sun became very dark, like the black cloth people wear to show they are sad. The full moon became red like blood.
12 Em seguida vi o Cordeiro quebrar o sexto selo. Houve um violento terremoto, o sol se tornou negro como uma roupa de luto, e a lua ficou toda vermelha como sangue.
13 The stars in the sky fell to the earth. They fell like figs that are not ripe when the fig tree is shaken by a strong wind.
13 As estrelas caíram do céu sobre a terra, como os figos verdes caem da figueira sacudida por um vento forte.
14 The sky was taken away like paper being rolled up. Every big hill and island was shaken out of its place.
14 O céu desapareceu como um rolo de papel que se enrola de novo, e todos os montes e ilhas foram tirados dos seus lugares.
15 The kings of the world, the great men, the army captains, the rich people, the strong people, every slave, and every freeman hid themselves in holes and the rocks on the big hills.
15 Então os reis do mundo inteiro, os governadores e os chefes militares, os ricos e os poderosos e todas as outras pessoas, escravas ou livres, se esconderam nas cavernas e debaixo das rochas das montanhas.
16 They called to the hills and to the rocks and said, Fall on us! Hide us so the One on the throne will not see us. Hide us from the Lamb who is angry with us.
16 E gritavam para os montes e para as rochas: — Caiam sobre nós e nos escondam dos olhos daquele que está sentado no trono e nos protejam da
17 The great day has come, and he is very angry with us. Who can stand before him?
17 Pois já chegou o grande dia da ira deles, e quem poderá aguentá-la?
