3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 ma hesi ꞌatemi wahepasadi pasaedi miyamiya hatayadi ꞌoidiyega, taudi gidemusa mumuga nuhana ma nuwadobi ꞌoidiyega, Wanuwatuhuyahi mumugaedi ꞌabehega ginaula madouna Yehoba matana.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Gidemusa mwalo taudi wahiwahine totapwalolo Yehoba sihemisaeya eeta ꞌatedi siheꞌahupaseya mumuga nuhana ma nuwadobi ꞌoidiyega eeta mwanediyao siheꞌasisiyanediya.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 Gidemusa wete Sela mwanena Ebalahamo ꞌenana ꞌihematamataneya eeta ꞌiꞌahwa badaeya. Ma ꞌeguma ꞌomi wamumuga bwebweꞌana ma geya ꞌeta toꞌaha wamatamataute, ꞌomi Sela natunao.
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Bewa ꞌigu gwae ꞌana ꞌebelosaloha ꞌoimiya ꞌabehega ꞌimi nuwatuhuwega ma ꞌami lotohonega waheꞌaigeda ma wahelau hilegomi, ma maꞌimi nuwadobi waꞌatemuya muyaegomi.

9 Ma ꞌeguma tupwadi ꞌoimiya sipaihowa galana, geyaꞌabwa ꞌoidiya wahehemaisa, ma ꞌeguma wete siheliyegomi geyaꞌabwa waheheliyedi. Ma hesi wahemaisedi gwae bwebweꞌana ꞌoidiyega, weyahina Yehoba ꞌigwae hemisa pwaiya ꞌabehega ꞌihelauwegomi, ꞌeguma ꞌomi gwae bwebweꞌanega ꞌoidiya wahemaisa.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Gidemusa Buki Heꞌasisi ꞌoina ꞌihepwaila, ꞌigwaeya,
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Wete paihowa galadi ꞌilogwahatedi ma ꞌipaihowa bwebweꞌana hali tomota ꞌoidiya, ma wete ꞌihetapewa waiwai nuwadaumwala weyahina.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Weyahina ꞌida Bada tuta mabwaiyana tobwebweꞌanao ꞌilomatayahidi, ma wete ꞌidi ꞌahwanoiyao ꞌihesagoha bwaibwainidi, ma taudi togala ꞌilogwahatedi.”
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Moisa tuwa, geya sawasawahina ꞌeta taiya ꞌiꞌehemuyegomi, ꞌeguma ginaula bwebweꞌana nuwami ꞌiꞌewaꞌewa, ma tuta mabwaiyana ꞌoina wapaipaihowa.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Ma geyaꞌabwa tomota wamatamatautedi bo nuwana wanuwanuwa mwau ꞌoidiya, ma hesi wayaliyaya, ꞌeguma ginaula bwebweꞌana wapaipaihowa ma siꞌeheꞌehe muyegomi,
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ma hesi ꞌatemiyega ꞌida Bada Keliso waheꞌasisiyane. Ma ꞌeguma taiya ꞌihesilalegomi ma ꞌigwae, “Toꞌaha weyahina ꞌuhemihemisa?” nata ꞌomi wagwaehila maꞌimi hepwaila bwebweꞌana ꞌoidiya, ma maꞌimi mumuga nuhana ꞌoinega wahegwaedi.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 Ma toꞌaha wanuwatuhuya bwebweꞌana, tuta mabwaiyana gidemusa wapaipaihowa ꞌesa, ꞌoinega ꞌeguma taiyawedi siꞌahwa galaegomi weyahina ꞌabehega ꞌomi Keliso ꞌana tomuliyao, ꞌabwa sideba mwadina, ꞌeguma ꞌimi mumuga bwebweꞌana waheꞌitedi.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Ceguma Yehoba ꞌinuwatuhuya ꞌabehega muya taloba, ꞌilobwainegita taꞌemuyamuya ꞌida paihowa bwebweꞌana weyahina, ma hesi geya ꞌana ꞌita bwebweꞌana ꞌeguma paihowa galana weyahina taꞌemuyamuya.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Gidemusa tuwa, Keliso maꞌaigeda ꞌiꞌamasa ꞌida galao weyahidi, ma tauna loheya bwebweꞌana, ma tauda galagalaida ma weyahida ꞌiꞌamasa, ta ꞌoinega ꞌitoegita Yehoba ꞌoina. Ma Keliso wahinamo siloheꞌamasiya, ma yaluyaluwana geya.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 Coinega yaluyaluwana ꞌilatuwa ta ꞌitauya yaluyaluwa paipainidi ꞌoidiya ꞌilohatotowa.
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 Yaluyaluwaedi tomota yaluyaluwadi, taudi mwalohene Nowa ꞌina tuta Yehoba weyahidi ꞌiheꞌalamaꞌiꞌitana ma ꞌabehega ꞌoina sihemisa, ta geya. Coinega mabwaiyadi yagewa ꞌoinega sidamana, ma tupwadimo bwasiyega ꞌiꞌabihetediya, beno nima ꞌaigeda ma ꞌetoi, ꞌiꞌabihetedi wagaina Nowa ꞌiꞌabiya ꞌoinega.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 Bwasiina ꞌiheꞌita moisa ꞌoida ꞌabehega bewa tuwa bwasi ꞌebe babitaiso ꞌiꞌabihetegita. Ma babitaisoina geya ꞌabehega wahida ꞌana deulamo, ma hesi ꞌida ꞌahwanoiyega Yehoba ꞌateda ꞌigihe ꞌehaudi, Yesu Keliso ꞌina toholo hila ꞌoinega,
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 tauna ꞌihane pwaiya galewa, eeta bewa tuwa Yehoba ꞌina ꞌebeulega ꞌimiyamiya, ma aneloseyao ma toloinao mabwaiyadi galewa ꞌoina ꞌiloiloinaedi.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
