4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Da’ágát’éégo doo áníidá’ isdzáné daagodnłsiníí Bik’ehgo’ihi’ṉań yaa da’ołííhíí ídaadilzhǫǫ lę́k’e, biką’ daidits’ago:
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 Sarah ágát’éégo Abraham yidits’ag lę́k’e, shinant’a’ yiłṉiigo: da’osodląądhíí bighą áń bich’eke’yú k’ehgo daasolįį, nłt’éégo ádaanoht’eeyúgo, ła’íí doo nt’é bik’e nadaałyiz dayúgo.
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.

10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Áń nchǫ’íí yits’ą́’zhį’ anṉe’go nłt’ééhíí ye’at’į́į́ le’; iłch’į’gont’ééhíí yiká hát’į́į́go nłdzilgo yikádéz’įį le’.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 NohweBik’ehń nṉee dábik’ehyú ádaat’eehíí yik’idéz’įį, áí bi’okąąhíí yíyésts’ąą: áídá’ nṉee doo bik’ehyú ánádaat’įįł dahíí yits’ą́’zhį’go dahnot’aał.
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Nłt’éégo ádaanoht’eedá’, hadíńshą’ nohwiṉí’diłṉíh?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Dánzhǫǫgo zhą́ ágot’eehíí bighą nohwiniidaagonłt’éé ndi, nohwá gózhǫ́ǫ́ doo: nṉee nohwik’edaanṉiihíí doo bédaałdzid da, doo nohwił nadaagontł’og da le’;
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Áídá’ nohweBik’ehń, Bik’ehgo’ihi’ṉań nlįįgo, nohwijíí yuṉe’ daadinołsį le’: nłt’ééhíí nohwádįhyú goz’aaníí nohwijíí biyi’ yuṉe’ nda’ołííhíí nṉee ła’ yighą nanohwídíłkidyúgo, hagot’éégo bich’į’ hahdziihíí t’ah bíntsé bídaagonołsį le’, tąądégo ła’íí daadinołsįgo baa nadaagołṉi’ le’:
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.

20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
