1 A Song of the Ascents. Often they distressed me from my youth, Pray, let Israel say:
1 Muitas vezes me angustiaram desde a minha mocidade, Israel que o diga;
2 Often they distressed me from my youth, Yet they have not prevailed over me.
2 desde a minha mocidade, me angustiaram, todavia, não prevaleceram contra mim.
3 Over my back have ploughers ploughed, They have made long their furrows.
3 Sobre o meu dorso lavraram os aradores; nele abriram longos sulcos.
4 Jehovah [is] righteous, He hath cut asunder cords of the wicked.
4 Mas o Senhor é justo; cortou as cordas dos ímpios.
5 Confounded and turn backward do all hating Zion.
5 Sejam envergonhados e repelidos todos os que aborrecem a Sião!
6 They are as grass of the roofs, That before it was drawn out withereth,
6 Sejam como a erva dos telhados, que seca antes de florescer,
7 That hath not filled the hand of a reaper, And the bosom of a binder of sheaves.
7 com a qual não enche a mão o ceifeiro, nem os braços, o que ata os feixes!
8 And the passers by have not said, `The blessing of Jehovah [is] on you, We blessed you in the Name of Jehovah!`
8 E também os que passam não dizem: A bênção do Nós vos abençoamos em nome do
