1 And they journeyed from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the Wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they departed from the land of Egypt.
1 E tomaram a sua jornada de Elim, e toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel veio ao deserto de Sim, que está entre Elim e Sinai, no décimo quinto dia do segundo mês depois da sua partida da terra do Egito.
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.
2 E toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel murmurou contra Moisés e Arão no deserto,
3 And the children of Israel said to them, Oh, that we had died at the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of flesh and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
3 e os filhos de Israel disseram a eles: Quem dera tivéssemos morrido pela mão do SENHOR na terra do Egito, quando estávamos assentados junto às panelas de carne, e quando comíamos pão à vontade; porque nos trouxestes para este deserto para matar toda esta assembleia de fome.
4 And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from the heavens for you. And the people shall go out and gather in this matter day by day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My Law or not.
4 Então o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Eis que vos farei chover pão do céu, e o povo sairá e colherá a porção de cada dia, para que eu o prove se anda na minha lei ou não.
5 And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather day by day.
5 E acontecerá que, no sexto dia, eles prepararão aquilo que trouxerem, e será duas vezes o que ajuntam diariamente.
6 And Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, At evening you shall know that Jehovah has brought you out of the land of Egypt.
6 Então disse Moisés e Arão a todos os filhos de Israel: À tarde sabereis que o SENHOR é quem vos tirou da terra do Egito,
7 And in the morning you shall see the glory of Jehovah; for He hears your murmuring against Jehovah. But what are we, that you grumble against us?
7 e pela manhã, então vereis a glória do SENHOR; porque ele ouve as vossas murmurações contra o SENHOR. E quem somos nós, para que murmureis contra nós?
8 And Moses said, You shall see when Jehovah gives you flesh to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full; for Jehovah hears your murmurings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your murmurings are not against us but against Jehovah.
8 E Moisés disse: Isso será quando o SENHOR à tarde vos der carne para comer, e pela manhã pão à vontade, pois o SENHOR ouve as vossas murmurações que murmurais contra ele. E quem somos nós? Vossas murmurações não são contra nós, mas contra o SENHOR.
9 And Moses spoke to Aaron, Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before Jehovah, for He has heard your murmurings.
9 E falou Moisés a Arão: Dize a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel: Aproximai-vos diante do SENHOR, porque ele ouviu as vossas murmurações.
10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they turned and looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Jehovah appeared in the cloud.
10 E aconteceu, quando Arão falou a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, que eles olharam para o deserto, e eis que a glória do SENHOR apareceu na nuvem.
11 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
11 E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, At evening you shall eat flesh, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am Jehovah your God.
12 Ouvi as murmurações dos filhos de Israel; fala-lhes, dizendo: À tarde comereis carne, e pela manhã vos fartareis com pão; e sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
13 And it came to pass that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew all around the camp.
13 E aconteceu que, à tarde subiram codornizes e cobriram o acampamento, e pela manhã estava o orvalho ao redor do arraial.
14 And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, were small flakes, as fine as frost on the ground.
14 E quando o orvalho subiu, eis que sobre a face do deserto estava uma coisa pequena e redonda, tão pequena quanto a geada sobre o chão.
15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, Manna? For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread which Jehovah has given you for food.
15 E quando os filhos de Israel a viram, disseram uns aos outros: Isso é maná, porque não sabiam o que era. E Moisés lhes disse: Isto é o pão que o SENHOR vos deu para comer.
16 This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded: Let every man gather up food for each mouth, one omer per head; according to the number of souls let every man take for those in his tent.
16 Isto é o que o SENHOR vos ordenou: Ajuntai dele cada homem segundo o seu comer, um ômer para cada homem, de acordo com o número de vossas pessoas; tomai cada homem para aqueles que estão nas suas tendas.
17 And the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less.
17 E os filhos de Israel assim fizeram, e colheram, alguns mais, outros menos.
18 And when they measured it with the omer, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. They gathered according to the food for each mouth.
18 E quando o mediram com um ômer, o que tinha ajuntado muito não tinha demais, e o que tinha ajuntado pouco não tinha falta; ajuntaram cada homem de acordo com o seu comer.
19 And Moses said, Let no one leave any of it till morning.
19 E disse Moisés: Que nenhum homem deixe dele até de manhã.
20 Nevertheless they did not heed Moses; but some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stunk. And Moses was furious with them.
20 Mesmo assim, eles não ouviram a Moisés; mas alguns deles deixaram dele até a manhã seguinte, e criou vermes e cheirava mal. Moisés irou-se com eles.
21 So they gathered it every morning, every man the food for his mouth. And when the sun became hot, it melted.
21 E o colheram todas as manhãs, cada homem conforme o seu comer; e aquecendo o sol, derretia-se.
22 And it came to pass on the sixth day, that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. And all the leaders of the congregation came and reported to Moses.
22 E aconteceu que, no sexto dia, eles colheram duas vezes mais pão, dois ômeres para um homem; e todos os governantes da congregação vieram e contaram a Moisés.
23 And he said to them, This is what Jehovah has said: Tomorrow is a rest, a holy Sabbath unto Jehovah. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.
23 E disse-lhes: Isto é o que o SENHOR disse: Amanhã é o descanso do shabat santo ao SENHOR; o que quiserdes assar, assai-o, e o que quiserdes cozer, cozei-o; e o que restar guardai para vós até pela manhã.
24 So they laid it up till morning, as Moses commanded; and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it.
24 E eles o guardaram até a manhã seguinte, como Moisés ordenara, e não cheirou mal, nem havia verme algum nele.
25 Then Moses said, Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath unto Jehovah; today you will not find it in the field.
25 E disse Moisés: Comei isso hoje; pois hoje é o dia do Shabat do SENHOR, pois hoje não o achareis no campo.
26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, there will be none.
26 Seis dias o colhereis, mas no sétimo dia, que é o shabat, nele não haverá.
27 And it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, and they found none.
27 E aconteceu que saíram alguns do povo no sétimo dia para ajuntar, e não acharam nada.
28 And Jehovah said to Moses, How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My Laws?
28 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Até quando recusareis obedecer aos meus mandamentos e às minhas leis?
29 Pay attention! For Jehovah has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
29 Vede, pois o SENHOR vos deu o shabat, por isso ele vos dá no sexto dia o pão para dois dias. Permanecei cada homem no seu lugar; que nenhum homem saia de seu lugar no sétimo dia.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
30 Assim o povo descansou no sétimo dia.
31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
31 E a casa de Israel chamou o nome disso maná. E era como semente de coentro, branco, e o seu gosto era como coscorões feitos com mel.
32 Then Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded: Fill an omer with it, to be kept for your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.
32 E Moisés disse: Isto é o que o SENHOR ordenou: Enche um ômer dele e guarda-o para as vossas gerações, para que vejam o pão com o qual eu vos alimentei no deserto, quando vos tirei da terra do Egito.
33 And Moses said to Aaron, Take a pot and put an omer full of manna in it, and lay it up before Jehovah, to be kept for your generations.
33 E Moisés disse a Arão: Toma um vaso, e coloca um ômer de maná nele, e guarda-o diante do SENHOR, para ser guardado para as vossas gerações.
34 As Jehovah commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
34 Assim como o SENHOR ordenara a Moisés, assim Arão o pôs diante do Testemunho, para ser guardado.
35 And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came into the borders of the land of Canaan.
35 E os filhos de Israel comeram maná quarenta anos, até que chegaram a uma terra habitada; eles comeram o maná até que chegaram aos termos da terra de Canaã.
36 Now an omer is one-tenth of an ephah.
36 Ora, um ômer é a décima parte de um efa.
