1 Then David said, Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
1 Davi disse: Terá ficado alguém da casa de Saul, a quem eu possa beneficiar em memória de Jônatas?
2 And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they summoned him to David, the king said to him, Are you Ziba? And he said, At your service!
2 Ora, havia na família de Saul um servo chamado Siba. Levaram-no à presença de Davi, que lhe disse: És tu mesmo Siba? Para servir-te, respondeu ele.
3 And the king said, Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God? And Ziba said to the king, There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet.
3 Tornou o rei: Haverá ainda alguém da família de Saul a quem eu possa fazer misericórdia da parte de Deus? Há ainda um filho de Jônatas, respondeu Siba, paralítico dos dois pés.
4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar.
4 E o rei perguntou: Onde está ele? Siba respondeu: Está na casa de Maquir, filho de Amiel, de Lodabar.
5 Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.
5 E o rei mandou buscá-lo na casa de Maquir, filho de Amiel de Lodabar.
6 And when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold your servant!
6 Quando Mifiboset, o filho de Jônatas, filho de Saul, chegou diante de Davi, prostrou-se com o rosto por terra. Davi disse-lhe: Mifiboset! Para servir-te, respondeu ele.
7 And David said to him, Do not fear, for I will bring about to deal with you in kindness because of Jonathan your father, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your father; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.
7 Davi disse-lhe: Não temas. Quero fazer-te bem em memória de teu pai Jônatas, e te restituirei todos os bens de Saul, teu avô. Comerás à minha mesa.
8 He bowed again, and said, What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?
8 Mifiboset prostrou-se, dizendo: Quem é o teu servo, para que dês atenção a um cão morto como eu?
9 And the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, I have given to your master’s son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.
9 O rei chamou Siba, o servo de Saul, e disse-lhe: Tudo o que pertenceu a Saul e à sua casa, eu darei ao filho de teu senhor.
10 You therefore, and your sons and your servants, shall work the land for him, and you shall bring in the harvest, that your master’s son may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread at my table continually. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
10 Lavrarás a terra para ele, tu, teus filhos e tua gente, e levarás o produto de teu trabalho para servir de alimento à família de teu senhor. Quanto a Mifiboset, o filho de teu senhor, ele comerá sempre à minha mesa. Ora, Siba tinha quinze filhos e vinte escravos.
11 And Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so shall your servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table like one of the king’s sons.
11 Siba disse ao rei: Teu servo fará o que o rei, meu senhor, lhe ordenou. Mifiboset comia, pois, à mesa do rei, como um de seus filhos.
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Micha. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth.
12 Tinha ele um filho menor chamado Mica. Todos os que pertenciam à casa de Siba estavam a serviço de Mifiboset.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table. And he was lame in both his feet.
13 Este habitava em Jerusalém, pois comia todos os dias à mesa do rei, e era paralítico dos dois pés.
