1 In the daies of hym Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, stiede, and Joachym was maad seruaunt to hym by thre yeeris; and eft Joachym rebellide ayens hym.
1 Durante o reinado de Jeoaquim, o rei Nabucodonosor, da Babilônia, invadiu Judá, e durante três anos Jeoaquim foi dominado por ele, mas depois se revoltou.
2 And the Lord sente to hym theuys of Caldeis, and theuys of Sirie, and theuys of Moab, and theuys of the sones of Amon; and he sente hem `in to Juda, that he schulde destrie it, bi the word of the Lord, which he spak bi hise seruauntis prophetis.
2 Para destruir Judá, o Senhor Deus fez conforme tinha dito pelos seus servos , os profetas , isto é, ele mandou contra Jeoaquim bandos armados de babilônios, sírios, moabitas e amonitas.
3 Forsothe this was doon bi the word of the Lord ayens Juda, that he schulde do awei it bifor him silf, for the synnes of Manasses, and alle thingis whiche he dide,
3 Isso aconteceu com Judá por ordem do Senhor para expulsar o povo de Judá da sua presença, por causa de todos os pecados que o rei Manassés havia cometido
4 and for the giltles blood which he sched out; and he fillide Jerusalem with the blood of innocentis; and for this thing the Lord nolde do mercy.
4 e principalmente por causa de todas as pessoas inocentes que ele havia matado. O Senhor não quis perdoar Manassés por esse pecado.
5 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Joachim, and alle thingis whiche he dide, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
5 Tudo o que Jeoaquim fez está escrito na História dos Reis de Judá .
6 And Joachym slept with hise fadris, and Joakyn, his sone, regnyde for him.
6 Jeoaquim morreu, e o seu filho Joaquim ficou no lugar dele como rei.
7 And the kyng of Egipt addide no more to go out of hys lond; for the kyng of Babiloyne hadde take alle thingis that weren the kyngis of Egipt, fro the strond of Egipt `til to the flood Eufrates.
7 O rei do Egito nunca mais saiu da sua terra com o seu exército, pois o rei da Babilônia havia conquistado todas as terras que tinham sido do Egito, desde o rio Eufrates até a fronteira norte do Egito.
8 Joakyn was of eiytene yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde thre monethis in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Nahesta, douytir of Helnathan of Jerusalem.
8 Joaquim tinha dezoito anos de idade quando se tornou rei de Judá. Ele governou três meses em Jerusalém. A mãe dele se chamava Neústa e era filha de Elnatã, de Jerusalém.
9 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis whiche hise fadir hadde do.
9 Seguindo o exemplo do seu pai, Joaquim fez coisas erradas, que não agradam a Deus, o Senhor .
10 In that tyme the seruauntis of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, stieden `in to Jerusalem, and the citee was cumpassid with bisegyngis.
10 Foi durante o reinado de Joaquim que o exército da Babilônia, comandado pelos oficiais do rei Nabucodonosor, marchou contra Jerusalém e cercou a cidade.
11 And Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, cam to the citee with hise seruauntis, that he schulde fiyte ayens it.
11 Enquanto a cidade estava cercada, o próprio rei Nabucodonosor foi até lá,
12 And Joakyn, kyng of Juda, yede out to the king of Babiloyne, he, and his modir, and hise seruauntis, and hise princis, and hise chaumburleyns; and the king of Babiloyne resseyuede him, in the eiythe yeer of `his rewme.
12 e o rei Joaquim, a sua mãe, os seus filhos, os seus oficiais e os funcionários do palácio se entregaram aos babilônios. No oitavo ano do reinado de Nabucodonosor, ele levou Joaquim como prisioneiro.
13 And he brouyte forth fro thens alle the tresours of the `hous of the Lord, and the tresours of the kingis hous; and he beet togider alle the goldun vessels, whiche Salomon, king of Israel, hadde maad in the temple of the Lord, bi the `word of the Lord.
13 Também levou para a Babilônia todos os tesouros do Templo e do palácio. Conforme o Senhor tinha dito, Nabucodonosor quebrou todos os objetos de ouro que o rei Salomão tinha feito para serem usados no Templo.
14 And he translatide al Jerusalem, and alle the princis, and alle the strong men of the oost, ten thousynde, in to caitiftee, and ech crafti man, and goldsmyyt; and no thing was left, outakun the pore puplis of the lond.
14 Nabucodonosor levou como prisioneiros toda a gente de Jerusalém, todos os príncipes e todos os cidadãos mais importantes, dez mil pessoas ao todo. Levou também todos os artesãos, incluindo os ferreiros. Ficaram em Judá somente as pessoas mais pobres.
15 Also he translatide Joakyn in to Babiloyne, and the moder of the king, `the wyues of the king, and the chaumburleyns of the king; and he ledde the iugis of the lond in to caitifte fro Jerusalem in to Babiloyne;
15 Nabucodonosor levou Joaquim para a Babilônia como prisioneiro, junto com a mãe dele, as suas esposas, os seus oficiais e as pessoas mais importantes de Judá.
16 and alle stronge men, seuene thousynde; and crafti men and goldsmyythis, a thousynde; alle stronge men and werriouris; and the king of Babiloyne ledde hem prisoners in to Babiloyne.
16 Nabucodonosor mandou todos os homens importantes para a Babilônia, sete mil ao todo, e mil artesãos, incluindo os ferreiros, todos eles treinados para lutar na guerra.
17 And he ordeynede Mathanye, the brother of his fadir, for hym; and puttide to hym the name Sedechie.
17 Nabucodonosor colocou Matanias, o tio de Joaquim, como rei de Judá e mudou o nome dele para Zedequias.
18 Sedechie hadde the oon and twentithe yeer of age, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnyde eleuene yeer in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Amychal, douyter of Jeremye of Lobna.
18 Zedequias tinha vinte e um anos de idade quando se tornou rei de Judá. Ele governou onze anos em Jerusalém. A mãe dele se chamava Hamutal e era filha de Jeremias, da cidade de Libna.
19 And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis which Joachym hadde do.
19 O rei Zedequias fez coisas erradas, que não agradam a Deus, o Senhor , como o rei Joaquim havia feito.
20 For the Lord was wrooth ayens Jerusalem, and ayens Juda, til he caste hem awey fro his face; and Sedechie yede awei fro the king of Babiloyne.
20 O Senhor ficou tão irado contra o povo de Jerusalém e de Judá, que os afastou da sua presença.
