1 Yn the secounde yeer of Joas, sone of Joachas, kyng of Israel, Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, regnyde.
1 No segundo ano de Jeoás, filho de Jeoacaz, rei de Israel, reinou Amazias, o filho de Joás, rei de Judá.
2 Amasie was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne; forsothe he regnyde in Jerusalem nyne and twenti yeer; the name of his modir was Joade of Jerusalem.
2 Ele tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar; e reinou vinte e nove anos em Jerusalém. E o nome da sua mãe era Jeoadã de Jerusalém.
3 And he dide riytfulnesse bifor the Lord, netheles not as Dauid, his fadir; he dide bi alle thingis whiche Joas, his fadir, dide, no but this oonli,
3 E ele fez aquilo que era reto à vista do SENHOR, todavia não como Davi, o seu pai; ele fez segundo todas as coisas, como fez Joás, o seu pai.
4 that he dide not awei hiy thingis; for yit the puple made sacrifice, and brent encence in hiy thingis.
4 Todavia, os lugares altos não foram removidos; até aquele momento o povo sacrificava e queimava incenso nos lugares altos.
5 And whanne he hadde gete the rewme, he smoot hise seruauntis, that hadden killid the kyng, his fadir;
5 E sucedeu, tão logo o reino foi confirmado na sua mão, que ele matou os seus servos que haviam matado o rei, o seu pai.
6 but he killide not the sones of hem that hadden slayn `the kyng, bi that that is writun in the book of the lawe of Moyses, as the Lord comaundide to Moises, and seide, Fadris schulen not die for the sones, nethir the sones for the fadris, but eche man schal die in his owne synne.
6 Porém os filhos dos assassinos ele não matou; segundo o que está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, no qual o SENHOR ordenou, dizendo: Os pais não serão levados à morte pelos filhos, nem os filhos serão levados à morte pelos pais; mas cada homem será levado à morte pelo seu próprio pecado.
7 He smoot Edom in the valey of makyngis of salt, `he smoot ten thousynde, and took `the Stoon in batel; and he clepide the name therof Jethel, `til in to present dai.
7 Ele matou, de Edom, no vale do Sal, dez mil, e tomou Sela por guerra, e chamou o seu nome de Jocteel até este dia.
8 Thanne Amasie sente messangeris to Joas, sone of Joachaz, sone of Hieu, kyng of Israel, and seide, Come thou, and se we vs `in batel.
8 Então, Amazias enviou mensageiros a Jeoás, o filho de Jeoacaz, filho de Jeú, rei de Israel, dizendo: Vem, olhemo-nos um a face do outro.
9 And Joas, kyng of Israel, sente ayen to Amasie, kyng of Juda, and seide, The cardue, `that is, a low eerbe, and ful of thornes, of the Liban sente to the cedre, which is in the Liban, and seide, Yyue thi douytir wijf to my sone; and the beestis of the forest, that ben in the Liban, passiden, and tredden doun the cardue.
9 E Jeoás, o rei de Israel, mandou dizer a Amazias, o rei de Judá: O cardo que estava no Líbano mandou dizer ao cedro que estava no Líbano: Dá a tua filha para o meu filho como esposa; e ali passava um animal selvagem que estava no Líbano, e pisoteou o cardo.
10 Thou hast smyte, and haddist the maistri on Edom, and thin herte hath reisid thee; be thou apaied with glorie, and sitte in thin hows; whi excitist thou yuel, that thou falle, and Juda with thee?
10 Tu, na verdade, tens ferido a Edom, e o teu coração tem te exaltado; gloria-te disto, e detenha-te na tua casa; afinal por que mexerias com a tua dor, para que caias, de fato, tu, e contigo Judá?
11 And Amasie assentide not `to be in pees; and Joas, kyng of Israel, stiede, and he and Amasie, kyng of Juda, sien hem silf in Bethsames, a citee of Juda.

13 Sotheli Joas, kyng of Israel, took in Bethsames Amasie, kyng of Juda, the sone of Joas, sone of Ocozie, and brouyte hym in to Jerusalem; and he brak the wal of Jerusalem, fro the yate of Effraym `til to the yate of the corner, bi foure hundrid cubitis.
13 E Jeoás, rei de Israel, pegou Amazias, rei de Judá, o filho de Joás, o filho de Acazias, em Bete-Semes, e veio até Jerusalém, e demoliu o muro de Jerusalém, desde o portão de Efraim, até ao portão da esquina, quatrocentos côvados.
14 And he took al the gold and siluer, and alle vessels, that weren foundun in the hows of the Lord, and in the tresours of the kyng; and he took ostagis, and turnede ayen in to Samarie.
14 E ele tomou todo o ouro e prata, e todos os vasos que foram achados na casa do SENHOR, e nos tesouros da casa do rei, e reféns, e retornou a Samaria.
15 Sotheli the resydue of wordis of Joas, whiche he dide, and his strengthe, bi which he fauyt ayens Amasie, kyng of Juda, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of dayes of the kyngis of Israel?
15 Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeoás, e tudo o que ele fez, e o seu poder, e a forma como ele lutou contra Amazias, rei de Judá, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
16 And Joas slepte with hise fadris, and was biried in Samarie with the kyngis of Israel; and Jeroboam, his sone, regnede for hym.
16 E Jeoás dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado em Samaria com os reis de Israel; e Jeroboão, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
17 Forsothe Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, lyuede fyue and twenti yeer, after that Joas, sone of Joachaz, kyng of Israel, was deed.
17 E viveu Amazias, o filho de Joás, rei de Judá, depois da morte de Jeoás, filho de Jeoacaz, rei de Israel, quinze anos.
18 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Amasie, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
18 E o restante dos atos de Amazias, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá?
19 And `sweryng togidir in Jerusalem was maad ayens hym, and he fledde in to Lachis; and thei senten aftir hym in to Lachis, and killiden hym there.
19 Ora, fizeram conspiração contra ele em Jerusalém; e ele fugiu para Laquis; mas eles enviaram após ele a Laquis, e lá o mataram.
20 And thei baren out hym in horsis, and he was biried in Jerusalem with hise fadris, in the citee of Dauid.
20 E o trouxeram sobre cavalos; e ele foi sepultado em Jerusalém, com os seus pais, na cidade de Davi.
21 Forsothe al the puple of Juda took Azarie, hauynge sixtene yeer; and maden hym king for his fadir Amasie.
21 E todo o povo de Judá tomou Azarias, que tinha dezesseis anos de idade, e fê-lo rei em lugar do seu pai, Amazias.
22 And he bildide Ahila, and restoride it to Juda, after that `the kyng slepte with hise fadris.
22 Ele edificou Elate, e a restituiu a Judá, depois disto, o rei dormiu com os seus pais.
23 In the fiftenethe yeer of Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, Jeroboam, sone of Joas, kyng of Israel, regnyde in Samarie oon and fourti yeer;
23 No décimo quinto ano de Amazias, o filho de Joás, rei de Judá, Jeroboão, o filho de Joás, rei de Israel, começou a reinar em Samaria, e reinou quarenta e um anos.
24 and dide that, that is yuel bifor the Lord; he yede not awei fro alle the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne.
24 E ele fez aquilo que era mau à vista do SENHOR; ele não se afastou de todos os pecados de Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, que fez Israel pecar.
25 He restoride the termes of Israel, fro the entryng of Emath `til to the see of wildirnesse, bi the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he spak bi his seruaunt Jonas, sone of Amathi, bi Jonas, the prophete, that was of Jeth, `which Jeth is in Ophir.
25 Ele restituiu o termo de Israel, desde a entrada de Hamate até o mar da planície, segundo a palavra do SENHOR Deus de Israel, a qual Ele falou pela mão do seu servo Jonas, o filho de Amitai, o profeta, o qual era de Gate-Hefer.
26 For the Lord siy the ful bittir turment of Israel, and that thei weren wastid `til to the closid men of prisoun, and the laste men, and `noon was that helpide Israel.
26 Porque o SENHOR viu a aflição de Israel, que era mui amarga; porque não havia nenhum escravo, nem livre, tampouco algum ajudador para Israel.
27 And the Lord spak not, that he schulde do awei Israel fro vndur heuene, but he sauyde hem in the hond of Jeroboam, sone of Joas.
27 E o SENHOR não disse que apagaria o nome de Israel de debaixo do céu; mas salvou-lhes pela mão de Jeroboão, o filho de Jeoás.
28 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Jeroboam, and alle thingis whiche he dide, and the strengthe of hym, bi which he fauyt, and hou he restoride Damask, and Emath of Juda, in Israel, whether these ben not wrytun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel?
28 Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeroboão, e tudo o que ele fez, e o seu poder, como ele guerreou, e como ele recuperou Damasco, e Hamate, a qual pertencia a Judá, para Israel, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel?
29 And Jeroboam slepte with hise fadris, the kyngis of Israel; and Azarie, his sone, regnede for hym.
29 E Jeroboão dormiu com os seus pais, a saber, com os reis de Israel; e Zacarias, o seu filho, reinou no seu lugar.
