1 Also Hiram, kyng of Tire, sente hise seruauntis to Salomon; for he herde that thei hadden anoyntide hym kyng for his fadir; for Hiram was frend of Dauid in al time.
1 Quando Hirão, rei de Tiro, soube que Salomão tinha sido ungido rei, mandou seus conselheiros a Salomão, pois sempre tinha sido amigo leal de Davi.
2 Sotheli also Salomon sente to Hiram,
2 Salomão enviou esta mensagem a Hirão:
3 and seide, Thou knowist the wille of Dauid, my fadir, and for he miyte not bilde an hows to the name of his God, for batels neiyynge bi cumpas, til the Lord yaf hem vndur the step of hise feet.
3 "Tu bem sabes que foi por causa das guerras travadas de todos os lados contra meu pai Davi que ele não pôde construir um templo em honra do nome do Senhor, o seu Deus, até que o Senhor pusesse os seus inimigos debaixo dos seus pés.
4 Now forsothe my Lord God yaf reste to me bi cumpas, and noon aduersarie is, nethir yuel asailyng;
4 Mas agora o Senhor, o meu Deus, concedeu-me paz em todas as fronteiras, e não tenho que enfrentar nem inimigos nem calamidades.
5 wherfor Y thenke to buylde a temple to the name of my Lord God, as God spak to Dauid, my fadir, and seide, Thi sone, whom Y schal yyue to thee for thee on thi trone, he schal bilde an hows to my name.
5 Pretendo, por isso, construir um templo em honra do nome do Senhor, do meu Deus, conforme o Senhor disse a meu pai Davi: ‘O seu filho, a quem colocarei no trono em seu lugar, construirá o templo em honra do meu nome’.
6 Therfor comaunde thou, that thi seruauntis hewe doun to me cedris of the Liban; and my seruauntis be with thi seruauntis; sotheli Y schal yyue to thee the meede of thi seruauntis, what euere meede thou schalt axe; for thou woost, that in my puple is not a man that kan hewe trees, as Sidonyes kunnen.
6 "Agora te peço que ordenes que cortem para mim cedros do Líbano. Os meus servos trabalharão com os teus, e eu pagarei a teus servos o salário que determinares. Sabes que não há entre nós ninguém tão hábil em cortar árvores quanto os sidônios".
7 Therfor whanne Hiram hadde herde the wordis of Salomon, he was ful glad, and seide, Blessid be the Lord God to dai, that yaf to Dauid a sone moost wijs on this puple ful myche.
7 Hirão ficou muito alegre quando ouviu a mensagem de Salomão, e exclamou: "Bendito seja o Senhor, pois deu a Davi um filho sábio para governar essa grande nação".
8 And Hiram sente to Salomon, and seide, Y haue herde what euer thingis thou sentist to me; Y schal do al thi wille, in trees of cedres, and of beechis.
8 E Hirão respondeu a Salomão: "Recebi a mensagem que me enviaste e atenderei ao teu pedido, enviando-lhe madeira de cedro e de pinho.
9 My seruauntis schulen putte doun tho trees fro the Liban to the see, and Y schal araye tho trees in schippis in the see, `til to the place which thou schalt signyfie to me; and Y schal dresse tho there, that thou take tho; and thou schalt yyue necessaries to me, that mete be youun to myn hows.
9 Meus servos levarão a madeira do Líbano até o mar, e eu a farei flutuar em jangadas no mar até o lugar que me indicares. Ali eu a deixarei e tu poderás levá-la. E em troca, fornecerás alimento para a minha corte".
10 Therfor Hiram yaf to Salomon `trees of cedres, and `trees of beechis, bi al his wille;
10 Assim Hirão se tornou fornecedor de toda a madeira de cedro e de pinho que Salomão desejava,
11 forsothe Salomon yaf to Hiram twenti thousynde chorus of wheete, in to meete to his hows, and twenti chorus of pureste oile; Salomon yaf these thingis to Hiram bi alle yeeris.
11 e Salomão deu a Hirão vinte mil tonéis de trigo para suprir de mantimento a sua corte, além de vinte mil tonéis de azeite de oliva puro. Era o que Salomão dava anualmente a Hirão.
12 Also the Lord yaf wisdom to Salomon, as he spak to hym; and pees was bitwixe Hiram and Salomon, and bothe smytiden boond of pees.
12 O Senhor deu sabedoria a Salomão, como lhe havia prometido. Houve paz entre Hirão e Salomão, e os dois fizeram um tratado.
13 And kyng Salomon chees werk men of al Israel; and the summe was thretti thousynde of men.
13 O rei Salomão arregimentou trinta mil trabalhadores de todo o Israel.
14 And `Salomon sente hem in to the Liban, ten thousynde bi ech monethe bi whilis, so that in twei monethis bi whilis thei weren in her howsis; and Adonyram was on sich a summe.
14 Ele os mandou para o Líbano em grupos de dez mil por mês, e eles se revezavam: passavam um mês no Líbano e dois em casa. Adonirão chefiava o trabalho.
15 Therfor seuenti thousynde of hem, that baren burthuns, weren to Salomon, and foure score thousynde of masouns in the hil, with out the souereyns,
15 Salomão tinha setenta mil carregadores e oitenta mil cortadores de pedra nas colinas,
16 that weren maistris of alle werkis, bi the noumbre of thre thousynde and thre hundrid, comaundynge to the puple, and to hem that maden werk.
16 bem como três mil e trezentos capatazes que supervisionavam o trabalho e comandavam os operários.
17 And the kyng comaundide, that thei schulden take greete stonys, `and preciouse stonys, in to the foundement of the temple, and that thei schulden make tho square;
17 Por ordem do rei retiravam da pedreira grandes blocos de pedra de ótima qualidade para servirem de alicerce de pedras lavradas para o templo.
18 whiche stoonys the masouns of Salomon, and the masouns of Hyram, hewiden. Forsothe Biblies maden redi trees and stonus, to the hows to be bildid.
18 Os construtores de Salomão e de Hirão e os homens de Gebal cortavam e preparavam a madeira e as pedras para a construção do templo.
