1 Also Hiram, kyng of Tire, sente hise seruauntis to Salomon; for he herde that thei hadden anoyntide hym kyng for his fadir; for Hiram was frend of Dauid in al time.
1 E enviou Hirão, rei de Tiro, os seus servos a Salomão (porque ouvira que ungiram a Salomão rei em lugar de seu pai), porquanto Hirão sempre tinha amado a Davi.
2 Sotheli also Salomon sente to Hiram,
2 Então Salomão mandou dizer a Hirão:
3 and seide, Thou knowist the wille of Dauid, my fadir, and for he miyte not bilde an hows to the name of his God, for batels neiyynge bi cumpas, til the Lord yaf hem vndur the step of hise feet.
3 Bem sabes tu que Davi, meu pai, não pôde edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor seu Deus, por causa da guerra com que o cercaram, até que o Senhor pôs seus inimigos debaixo das plantas dos seus pés.
4 Now forsothe my Lord God yaf reste to me bi cumpas, and noon aduersarie is, nethir yuel asailyng;
4 Porém agora o Senhor meu Deus me tem dado descanso de todos os lados; adversário não há, nem algum mau encontro.
5 wherfor Y thenke to buylde a temple to the name of my Lord God, as God spak to Dauid, my fadir, and seide, Thi sone, whom Y schal yyue to thee for thee on thi trone, he schal bilde an hows to my name.
5 E eis que eu intento edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor meu Deus, como falou o Senhor a Davi, meu pai, dizendo: Teu filho, que porei em teu lugar no teu trono, ele edificará uma casa ao meu nome.
6 Therfor comaunde thou, that thi seruauntis hewe doun to me cedris of the Liban; and my seruauntis be with thi seruauntis; sotheli Y schal yyue to thee the meede of thi seruauntis, what euere meede thou schalt axe; for thou woost, that in my puple is not a man that kan hewe trees, as Sidonyes kunnen.
6 Dá ordem, pois, agora, que do Líbano me cortem cedros, e os meus servos estarão com os teus servos, e eu te darei o salário dos teus servos, conforme a tudo o que disseres; porque bem sabes tu que entre nós ninguém há que saiba cortar a madeira como os sidônios.
7 Therfor whanne Hiram hadde herde the wordis of Salomon, he was ful glad, and seide, Blessid be the Lord God to dai, that yaf to Dauid a sone moost wijs on this puple ful myche.
7 E aconteceu que, ouvindo Hirão as palavras de Salomão, muito se alegrou, e disse: Bendito seja hoje o Senhor, que deu a Davi um filho sábio sobre este tão grande povo.
8 And Hiram sente to Salomon, and seide, Y haue herde what euer thingis thou sentist to me; Y schal do al thi wille, in trees of cedres, and of beechis.
8 E enviou Hirão a Salomão, dizendo: Ouvi o que me mandaste dizer. Eu farei toda a tua vontade acerca das madeiras de cedro e de cipreste.
9 My seruauntis schulen putte doun tho trees fro the Liban to the see, and Y schal araye tho trees in schippis in the see, `til to the place which thou schalt signyfie to me; and Y schal dresse tho there, that thou take tho; and thou schalt yyue necessaries to me, that mete be youun to myn hows.
9 Os meus servos as levarão desde o Líbano até ao mar, e eu as farei conduzir em jangadas pelo mar até ao lugar que me designares, e ali as desamarrarei; e tu as tomarás; tu também farás a minha vontade, dando sustento à minha casa.
10 Therfor Hiram yaf to Salomon `trees of cedres, and `trees of beechis, bi al his wille;
10 Assim deu Hirão a Salomão madeira de cedro e madeira de cipreste, conforme a toda a sua vontade.
11 forsothe Salomon yaf to Hiram twenti thousynde chorus of wheete, in to meete to his hows, and twenti chorus of pureste oile; Salomon yaf these thingis to Hiram bi alle yeeris.
11 E Salomão deu a Hirão vinte mil coros de trigo, para sustento da sua casa, e vinte coros de azeite batido; isto dava Salomão a Hirão anualmente.
12 Also the Lord yaf wisdom to Salomon, as he spak to hym; and pees was bitwixe Hiram and Salomon, and bothe smytiden boond of pees.
12 Deu, pois, o Senhor a Salomão sabedoria, como lhe tinha falado; e houve paz entre Hirão e Salomão, e ambos fizeram acordo.
13 And kyng Salomon chees werk men of al Israel; and the summe was thretti thousynde of men.
13 E o rei Salomão fez subir uma leva de gente dentre todo o Israel, e foi a leva de gente trinta mil homens;
14 And `Salomon sente hem in to the Liban, ten thousynde bi ech monethe bi whilis, so that in twei monethis bi whilis thei weren in her howsis; and Adonyram was on sich a summe.
14 E os enviava ao Líbano, cada mês, dez mil por turno; um mês estavam no Líbano, e dois meses cada um em sua casa; e Adonirão estava sobre a leva de gente.
15 Therfor seuenti thousynde of hem, that baren burthuns, weren to Salomon, and foure score thousynde of masouns in the hil, with out the souereyns,
15 Tinha também Salomão setenta mil que levavam as cargas, e oitenta mil que talhavam pedras nas montanhas,
16 that weren maistris of alle werkis, bi the noumbre of thre thousynde and thre hundrid, comaundynge to the puple, and to hem that maden werk.
16 Afora os chefes dos oficiais de Salomão, que estavam sobre aquela obra, três mil e trezentos, os quais davam as ordens ao povo que fazia aquela obra.
17 And the kyng comaundide, that thei schulden take greete stonys, `and preciouse stonys, in to the foundement of the temple, and that thei schulden make tho square;
17 E mandou o rei que trouxessem pedras grandes, e pedras valiosas, pedras lavradas, para fundarem a casa.
18 whiche stoonys the masouns of Salomon, and the masouns of Hyram, hewiden. Forsothe Biblies maden redi trees and stonus, to the hows to be bildid.
18 E as lavraram os edificadores de Hirão, e os giblitas; e preparavam a madeira e as pedras para edificar a casa.
