1 The titil of the two and sixtithe salm. `The salm of Dauid, `whanne he was in the desert of Judee.
1 A minha alma descansa somente em Deus; dele vem a minha salvação.
2 God, my God, Y wake to thee ful eerli. Mi soule thirstide to thee; my fleisch thirstide to thee ful many foold.
2 Somente ele é a rocha que me salva; ele é a minha torre segura! Jamais serei abalado!
3 In a lond forsakun with out wei, and with out water, so Y apperide to thee in hooli; that Y schulde se thi vertu, and thi glorie.
3 Até quando todos vocês atacarão um homem, que está como um muro inclinado, como uma cerca prestes a cair?
4 For thi merci is betere than lyues; my lippis schulen herie thee.
4 Todo o propósito deles é derrubá-lo de sua posição elevada; eles se deliciam com mentiras. Com a boca abençoam, mas no íntimo amaldiçoam. Pausa
5 So Y schal blesse thee in my lijf; and in thi name Y schal reise myn hondis.
5 Descanse somente em Deus, ó minha alma; dele vem a minha esperança.
6 Mi soule be fillid as with inner fatnesse and vttermere fatnesse; and my mouth schal herie with lippis of ful out ioiyng.
6 Somente ele é a rocha que me salva; ele é a minha torre alta! Não serei abalado!
7 So Y hadde mynde on thee on my bed, in morewtidis Y shal thenke of thee;
7 A minha salvação e a minha honra de Deus dependem; ele é a minha rocha firme, o meu refúgio.
8 for thou were myn helpere. And in the keueryng of thi wyngis Y schal make `ful out ioye, my soule cleuede after thee;
8 Confiem nele em todos os momentos, ó povo; derramem diante dele o coração, pois ele é o nosso refúgio. Pausa
9 thi riythond took me vp.
9 Os homens de origem humilde não passam de um sopro, os de origem importante não passam de mentira; pesados na balança, juntos não chegam ao peso de um sopro.
10 Forsothe thei souyten in veyn my lijf, thei schulen entre in to the lower thingis of erthe;
10 Não confiem na extorsão, nem ponham a esperança em bens roubados; se as suas riquezas aumentam, não ponham nelas o coração.
11 thei schulen be bitakun in to the hondis of swerd, thei schulen be maad the partis of foxis.
11 Uma vez Deus falou, duas vezes eu ouvi, que o poder pertence a Deus.
12 But the king schal be glad in God; and alle men schulen be preysid that sweren in hym, for the mouth of hem, that speken wickid thingis, is stoppid.
12 Contigo também, Senhor, está a fidelidade. É certo que retribuirás a cada um conforme o seu procedimento.
