1 The `title of the hundrid and foure and twentithe salm. `The song of greces. Thei that tristen in the Lord ben as the hil of Syon; he schal not be moued with outen ende,
1 Se não fora o Senhor, que esteve ao nosso lado, ora diga Israel;
2 that dwellith in Jerusalem. Hillis ben in the cumpas of it, and the Lord is in the cumpas of his puple; fro this tyme now and in to the world.
2 Se não fora o Senhor, que esteve ao nosso lado, quando os homens se levantaram contra nós,
3 For the Lord schal not leeue the yerde of synneris on the part of iust men; that iust men holde not forth her hondis to wickidnesse.
3 Eles então nos teriam engolido vivos, quando a sua ira se acendeu contra nós.
4 Lord, do thou wel; to good men, and of riytful herte.
4 Então as águas teriam transbordado sobre nós, e a corrente teria passado sobre a nossa alma;
5 But the Lord schal lede them that bowen in to obligaciouns, with hem that worchen wickidnesse; pees be on Israel.
5 Então as águas altivas teriam passado sobre a nossa alma;

6 Bendito seja o Senhor, que não nos deu por presa aos seus dentes.

7 A nossa alma escapou, como um pássaro do laço dos passarinheiros; o laço quebrou-se, e nós escapamos.

8 O nosso socorro está no nome do Senhor, que fez o céu e a terra.
