1 But we saddere men owen to susteyne the feblenesses of sijke men, and not plese to vs silf.
1 Ora, nós que somos fortes na fé temos de suportar as debilidades dos fracos e não agradar a nós mesmos.
2 Eche of vs plese to his neiybore in good, to edificacioun.
2 Portanto, cada um de nós agrade ao próximo no que é bom para edificação.
3 For Crist pleside not to hym silf, as it is writun, The repreues of men dispisynge thee, felden on me.
3 Porque também Cristo não agradou a si mesmo; pelo contrário, como está escrito: “Os insultos dos que te insultavam caíram sobre mim.”
4 For what euere thingis ben writun, tho ben writun to oure techynge, that bi pacience and coumfort of scripturis we haue hope.
4 Pois tudo o que no passado foi escrito, para o nosso ensino foi escrito, a fim de que, pela paciência e pela consolação das Escrituras, tenhamos esperança.
5 But God of pacience and of solace yyue to you to vndurstonde the same thing, ech in to othere aftir Jhesu Crist,
5 Ora, o Deus da paciência e da consolação lhes conceda o mesmo modo de pensar de uns para com os outros, segundo Cristo Jesus,
6 that ye of o wille with o mouth worschipe God and the fadir of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
6 para que vocês, unânimes e a uma só voz, glorifiquem o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
7 For which thing take ye togidere, as also Crist took you in to the onour of God.
7 Portanto, acolham uns aos outros, como também Cristo acolheu vocês para a glória de Deus.
8 For Y seie, that Jhesu Crist was a mynystre of circumcisioun for the treuthe of God, to conferme the biheestis of fadris.
8 Pois digo que Cristo foi constituído ministro da circuncisão, em prol da verdade de Deus, para confirmar as promessas feitas aos nossos pais
9 And hethene men owen to onoure God for merci; as it is writun, Therfor, Lord, Y schal knowleche to thee among hethene men, and Y schal synge to thi name.
9 e para que os gentios glorifiquem a Deus por causa da sua misericórdia, como está escrito: “Por isso, eu te glorificarei entre os gentios e cantarei louvores ao teu nome.”
10 And eft he seith, Ye hethene men, be ye glad with his puple.
10 E também diz: “Alegrem-se, ó gentios, com o povo de Deus.”
11 And eft, Alle hethene men, herie ye the Lord; and alle puplis, magnefie ye hym.
11 E ainda: “Louvem o Senhor, todos vocês, gentios, e todos os povos o louvem.”
12 And eft Isaie seith, Ther schal be a roote of Jesse, that schal rise vp to gouerne hethene men, and hethene men schulen hope in hym.
12 Também Isaías diz: “Virá a raiz de Jessé, aquele que se levanta para governar os gentios; nele os gentios esperarão.”
13 And God of hope fulfille you in al ioye and pees in bileuynge, that ye encrees in hope and vertu of the Hooli Goost.
13 E o Deus da esperança encha vocês de toda alegria e paz na fé que vocês têm, para que sejam ricos de esperança no poder do Espírito Santo.
14 And, britheren, Y my silf am certeyn of you, that also ye ben ful of loue, and ye ben fillid with al kunnyng, so that ye moun moneste ech other.
14 E eu mesmo, meus irmãos, estou certo de que vocês estão cheios de bondade, têm todo o conhecimento e são aptos para admoestar uns aos outros.
15 And, britheren, more boldli Y wroot to you a parti, as bryngynge you in to mynde, for the grace that is youun to me of God,
15 Entretanto, eu lhes escrevi, em parte mais ousadamente, como para fazer com que vocês se lembrem disso outra vez, por causa da graça que me foi dada por Deus,
16 that Y be the mynystre of Crist Jhesu among hethene men. And Y halewe the gospel of God, that the offryng of hethene men be acceptid, and halewid in the Hooli Goost.
16 para que eu seja ministro de Cristo Jesus entre os gentios, no sagrado encargo de anunciar o evangelho de Deus, de modo que a oferta deles seja aceitável, uma vez santificada pelo Espírito Santo.
17 Therfor Y haue glorie in Crist Jhesu to God.
17 Tenho, pois, motivo de gloriar-me em Cristo Jesus nas coisas concernentes a Deus.
18 For Y dar not speke ony thing of tho thingis, whiche Crist doith not bi me, in to obedience of hethene men, in word and dedis,
18 Porque não ousarei falar sobre coisa alguma, a não ser sobre aquelas que Cristo fez por meio de mim, para conduzir os gentios à obediência, por palavra e por obras,
19 in vertu of tokenes and grete wondris, in vertu of the Hooli Goost, so that fro Jerusalem bi cumpas to the Illirik see Y haue fillid the gospel of Crist.
19 por força de sinais e prodígios, pelo poder do Espírito de Deus. Assim, desde Jerusalém e arredores até o Ilírico, tenho divulgado o evangelho de Cristo,
20 And so Y haue prechid this gospel, not where Crist was named, lest Y bilde vpon anotheres ground, but as it is writun,
20 esforçando-me, deste modo, por pregar o evangelho, não onde Cristo já foi anunciado, para não edificar sobre alicerce alheio.
21 For to whom it is not teld of him, thei schulen se, and thei that herden not, schulen vndurstonde.
21 Pelo contrário, como está escrito: “Aqueles que não tiveram notícia dele o verão, e os que nada tinham ouvido a respeito dele o entenderão.”
22 For which thing Y was lettid ful myche to come to you, and Y am lettid to this tyme.
22 Essa foi a razão por que também, muitas vezes, fui impedido de visitá-los.
23 And now Y haue not ferthere place in these cuntrees, but Y haue desire to come to you, of many yeris that ben passid.
23 Mas, agora, não tendo mais campo de atividade nestas regiões e desejando há muitos anos visitá-los,
24 Whanne Y bygynne to passe in to Spayne, Y hope that in my goyng Y schal se you, and of you Y schal be led thidur, if Y vse you first in parti.
24 penso em fazê-lo quando em viagem para a Espanha. Pois espero que, de passagem, eu possa vê-los e que vocês me encaminhem para lá, depois de haver primeiro desfrutado um pouco a companhia de vocês.
25 Therfor now Y schal passe forth to Jerusalem, to mynystre to seyntis.
25 Mas agora estou de partida para Jerusalém, a serviço dos santos.
26 For Macedonye and Acaie han assaied to make sum yifte to pore men of seyntis, that ben in Jerusalem.
26 Porque a Macedônia e a Acaia resolveram levantar uma coleta em benefício dos pobres dentre os santos que vivem em Jerusalém.
27 For it pleside to hem, and thei ben dettouris of hem; for hethene men ben maad parteneris of her goostli thingis, thei owen also in fleischli thingis to mynystre to hem.
27 Isto lhes pareceu bem, e de fato lhes são devedores. Porque, se os gentios têm sido participantes dos valores espirituais dos judeus, devem também servi-los com bens materiais.
28 Therfor whanne Y haue endid this thing, and haue asigned to hem this fruyt, Y schal passe bi you in to Spayne.
28 Tendo, pois, concluído isto e havendo-lhes consignado este fruto, irei à Espanha, passando por aí.
29 And Y woot, that Y comynge to you, schal come `in to the abundaunce of the blessing of Crist.
29 E bem sei que, ao visitá-los, irei na plenitude da bênção de Cristo.
30 Therfor, britheren, Y biseche you bi oure Lord Jhesu Crist, and bi charite of the Hooli Goost, that ye helpe me in youre preyeris to the Lord,
30 Irmãos, por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo e também pelo amor do Espírito, peço que lutem juntamente comigo nas orações a Deus a meu favor,
31 that Y be delyuerid fro the vnfeithful men, that ben in Judee, and that the offryng of my seruyce be acceptid in Jerusalem to seyntis;
31 para que eu me veja livre dos rebeldes que vivem na Judeia, e que este meu serviço em Jerusalém seja bem-aceito pelos santos.
32 that Y come to you in ioye, bi the wille of God, and that Y be refreischid with you. And God of pees be with you alle. Amen.
32 Isto para que, pela vontade de Deus, eu chegue à presença de vocês com alegria e possa ter algum descanso na companhia de vocês.
