1 And it was don, whanne Jhesus hadde endid these wordis, he passide fro Galilee, and cam in to the coostis of Judee ouer Jordan.
1 E aconteceu que, concluindo Jesus estes discursos, saiu da Galiléia, e dirigiu- se aos confins da Judéia, além do Jordão;
2 And myche puple suede him, and he heelide hem there.
2 E seguiram-no grandes multidões, e curou-as ali.
3 And Farisees camen to him, temptynge him, and seiden, Whether it be leueful to a man to leeue his wijf, for ony cause?
3 Então chegaram ao pé dele os fariseus, tentando-o, e dizendo-lhe: É lícito ao homem repudiar sua mulher por qualquer motivo?
4 Which answeride, and seide to hem, Han ye not red, for he that made men at the bigynnyng, made hem male and female?
4 Ele, porém, respondendo, disse-lhes: Não tendes lido que aquele que os fez no princípio macho e fêmea os fez,
5 And he seide, For this thing a man schal leeue fadir and modir, and he schal draw to his wijf; and thei schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.
5 E disse: Portanto, deixará o homem pai e mãe, e se unirá a sua mulher, e serão dois numa só carne?
6 And so thei ben not now tweyne, but o fleisch. Therfor a man departe not that thing that God hath ioyned.
6 Assim não são mais dois, mas uma só carne. Portanto, o que Deus ajuntou não o separe o homem.
7 Thei seien to hym, What thanne comaundide Moises, to yyue a libel of forsakyng, and to leeue of?
7 Disseram-lhe eles: Então, por que mandou Moisés dar-lhe carta de divórcio, e repudiá-la?
8 And he seide to hem, For Moises, for the hardnesse of youre herte, suffride you leeue youre wyues; but fro the bigynnyng it was not so.
8 Disse-lhes ele: Moisés, por causa da dureza dos vossos corações, vos permitiu repudiar vossas mulheres; mas ao princípio não foi assim.
9 And Y seie to you, that who euer leeueth his wijf, but for fornycacioun, and weddith another, doith letcherie; and he that weddith the forsakun wijf, doith letcherie.
9 Eu vos digo, porém, que qualquer que repudiar sua mulher, não sendo por causa de fornicação, e casar com outra, comete adultério; e o que casar com a repudiada também comete adultério.
10 His disciplis seien to him, If the cause of a man with a wijf is so, it spedith not to be weddid.
10 Disseram-lhe seus discípulos: Se assim é a condição do homem relativamente à mulher, não convém casar.
11 And he seide to hem, Not alle men taken this word; but to whiche it is youun.
11 Ele, porém, lhes disse: Nem todos podem receber esta palavra, mas só aqueles a quem foi concedido.
12 For ther ben geldingis, whiche ben thus born of the modris wombe; and ther ben geldyngis, that ben maad of men; and there ben geldyngis, that han geldid hem silf, for the kyngdom of heuenes. He that may take, `take he.
12 Porque há eunucos que assim nasceram do ventre da mãe; e há eunucos que foram castrados pelos homens; e há eunucos que se castraram a si mesmos, por causa do reino dos céus. Quem pode receber isto, receba-o.
13 Thanne litle children weren brouyte to hym, that he schulde putte hondis to hem, and preie.
13 Trouxeram-lhe, então, alguns meninos, para que sobre eles pusesse as mãos, e orasse; mas os discípulos os repreendiam.
14 And the disciplis blamyden hem. But Jhesus seide to hem, Suffre ye that litle children come to me, and nyle ye forbede hem; for of siche is the kyngdom of heuenes.
14 Jesus, porém, disse: Deixai os meninos, e não os estorveis de vir a mim; porque dos tais é o reino dos céus.
15 And whanne he hadde put to hem hondis, he wente fro thennus.
15 E, tendo-lhes imposto as mãos, partiu dali.
16 And lo! oon cam, and seide to hym, Good maister, what good schal Y do, that Y haue euerlastynge lijf?
16 E eis que, aproximando-se dele um jovem, disse-lhe: Bom Mestre, que bem farei para conseguir a vida eterna?
17 Which seith to hym, What axist thou me of good thing? There is o good God. But if thou wolt entre to lijf, kepe the comaundementis.
17 E ele disse-lhe: Por que me chamas bom? Não há bom senão um só, que é Deus. Se queres, porém, entrar na vida, guarda os mandamentos.
18 He seith to hym, Whiche? And Jhesus seide, Thou schalt not do mansleying, thou schalt not do auowtrie, thou schalt not do thefte, thou schalt not seie fals witnessying;
18 Disse-lhe ele: Quais? E Jesus disse: Não matarás, não cometerás adultério, não furtarás, não dirás falso testemunho;
19 worschipe thi fadir and thi modir, and, thou schalt loue thi neiybore as thi silf.
19 Honra teu pai e tua mãe, e amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo.
20 The yonge man seith to hym, Y haue kept alle these thingis fro my youthe, what yit failith to me?
20 Disse-lhe o jovem: Tudo isso tenho guardado desde a minha mocidade; que me falta ainda?
21 Jhesus seith to hym, If thou wolt be perfite, go, and sille alle thingis that thou hast, and yyue to pore men, and thou schalt haue tresoure in heuene; and come, and sue me.
21 Disse-lhe Jesus: Se queres ser perfeito, vai, vende tudo o que tens e dá-o aos pobres, e terás um tesouro no céu; e vem, e segue-me.
22 And whanne the yong man hadde herd these wordis, he wente awei sorewful, for he hadde many possessiouns.
22 E o jovem, ouvindo esta palavra, retirou-se triste, porque possuía muitas propriedades.
23 And Jhesus seide to hise disciplis, Y seie to you treuthe, for a riche man of hard schal entre in to the kyngdom of heuenes.
23 Disse então Jesus aos seus discípulos: Em verdade vos digo que é difícil entrar um rico no reino dos céus.
24 And eftsoone Y seie to you, it is liyter a camel to passe thorou a needlis iye, thanne a riche man to entre in to the kyngdom of heuens.
24 E, outra vez vos digo que é mais fácil passar um camelo pelo fundo de uma agulha do que entrar um rico no reino de Deus.
25 Whanne these thingis weren herd, the disciplis wondriden greetli, and seiden, Who thanne may be saaf?
25 Os seus discípulos, ouvindo isto, admiraram-se muito, dizendo: Quem poderá pois salvar-se?
26 Jhesus bihelde, and seide to hem, Anentis men this thing is impossible; but anentis God alle thingis ben possible.
26 E Jesus, olhando para eles, disse-lhes: Aos homens é isso impossível, mas a Deus tudo é possível.
27 Thanne Petre answeride, and seide to hym, Lo! we han forsake alle thingis, and we han suede thee; what thanne schal be to vs?
27 Então Pedro, tomando a palavra, disse-lhe: Eis que nós deixamos tudo, e te seguimos; que receberemos?
28 Jhesus seide to hem, Truli I seie to you, that ye that han forsake alle thingis, and han sued me, in the regeneracioun whanne mannus sone schal sitte in the sete of his maieste, ye schulen sitte on twelue setis, demynge the twelue kynredis of Israel.
28 E Jesus disse-lhes: Em verdade vos digo que vós, que me seguistes, quando, na regeneração, o Filho do homem se assentar no trono da sua glória, também vos assentareis sobre doze tronos, para julgar as doze tribos de Israel.
29 And euery man that forsakith hous, britheren or sistren, fadir or modir, wijf ethir children, or feeldis, for my name, he schal take an hundrid foold, and schal welde euerlastynge lijf.
29 E todo aquele que tiver deixado casas, ou irmãos, ou irmãs, ou pai, ou mãe, ou mulher, ou filhos, ou terras, por amor de meu nome, receberá cem vezes tanto, e herdará a vida eterna.
30 But manye schulen be, the firste the laste, and the laste the firste.
30 Porém, muitos primeiros serão os derradeiros, e muitos derradeiros serão os primeiros.
