1 And whanne his twelue disciplis weren clepid togidere, he yaf to hem powere of vnclene spiritis, to caste hem out of men, and to heele eueri langour, and sijknesse.
1 Jesus reuniu seus doze discípulos. Conferiu-lhes o poder de expulsar os espíritos imundos e de curar todo mal e toda enfermidade.
2 And these ben the names of the twelue apostlis; the firste, Symount, that is clepid Petre, and Andrew, his brothir; James of Zebede, and Joon, his brothir; Filip, and Bartholomeu;
2 Eis os nomes dos doze apóstolos: o primeiro, Simão, chamado Pedro; depois André, seu irmão. Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão.
3 Thomas, and Matheu, pupplican; and James Alfey, and Tadee;
3 Filipe e Bartolomeu. Tomé e Mateus, o publicano. Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu.
4 Symount Chananee, and Judas Scarioth, that bitrayede Crist.
4 Simão, o cananeu, e Judas Iscariotes, que foi o traidor.
5 Jhesus sente these twelue, and comaundide hem, and seide, Go ye not `in to the weie of hethene men, and entre ye not in to the citees of Samaritans;
5 Estes são os Doze que Jesus enviou em missão, após lhes ter dado as seguintes instruções: Não ireis ao meio dos gentios nem entrareis em Samaria;
6 but rather go ye to the scheep of the hous of Israel, that han perischid.
6 ide antes às ovelhas que se perderam da casa de Israel.
7 And go ye, and preche ye, and seie, that the kyngdam of heuenes shal neiye;
7 Por onde andardes, anunciai que o Reino dos céus está próximo.
8 heele ye sike men, reise ye deede men, clense ye mesels, caste ye out deuelis; freeli ye han takun, freli yyue ye.
8 Curai os doentes, ressuscitai os mortos, purificai os leprosos, expulsai os demônios. Recebestes de graça, de graça dai!
9 Nyle ye welde gold, nether siluer, ne money in youre girdlis, not a scrippe in the weie,
9 Não leveis nem ouro, nem prata, nem dinheiro em vossos cintos,
10 nether twei cootis, nethir shoon, nether a yerde; for a werkman is worthi his mete.
10 nem mochila para a viagem, nem duas túnicas, nem calçados, nem bastão; pois o operário merece o seu sustento.
11 In to what euere citee or castel ye schulen entre, axe ye who therynne is worthi, and there dwelle ye, til ye go out.
11 Nas cidades ou aldeias onde entrardes, informai-vos se há alguém ali digno de vos receber; ficai ali até a vossa partida.
12 And whanne ye goon in to an hous, `grete ye it, and seyn, Pees to this hous.
12 Entrando numa casa, saudai-a: Paz a esta casa.
13 And if thilk hous be worthi, youre pees schal come on it; but if that hous be not worthi, youre pees schal turne ayen to you.
13 Se aquela casa for digna, descerá sobre ela vossa paz; se, porém, não o for, vosso voto de paz retornará a vós.
14 And who euere resseyueth not you, nethir herith youre wordis, go ye fro that hous or citee, and sprenge of the dust of youre feet.
14 Se não vos receberem e não ouvirem vossas palavras, quando sairdes daquela casa ou daquela cidade, sacudi até mesmo o pó de vossos pés.
15 Treuly Y seie to you, it shal be more suffrable to the loond of men of Sodom and of Gommor in the dai of iugement, than to thilke citee.
15 Em verdade vos digo: no dia do juízo haverá mais indulgência com Sodoma e Gomorra que com aquela cidade.
16 Lo! Y sende you as scheep in the myddil of wolues; therfor be ye sliy as serpentis, and symple as dowues.
16 Eu vos envio como ovelhas no meio de lobos. Sede, pois, prudentes como as serpentes, mas simples como as pombas.
17 But be ye war of men, for thei schulen take you in counseilis, and thei schulen bete you in her synagogis;
17 Cuidai-vos dos homens. Eles vos levarão aos seus tribunais e açoitar-vos-ão com varas nas suas sinagogas.
18 and to meyris, or presidentis, and to kyngis, ye schulen be lad for me, in witnessyng to hem, and to the hethen men.
18 Sereis por minha causa levados diante dos governadores e dos reis: servireis assim de testemunho para eles e para os pagãos.
19 But whanne thei take you, nyle ye thenke, hou or what thing ye schulen speke, for it shal be youun `to you in that our, what ye schulen speke;
19 Quando fordes presos, não vos preocupeis nem pela maneira com que haveis de falar, nem pelo que haveis de dizer: naquele momento ser-vos-á inspirado o que haveis de dizer.
20 for it ben not ye that speken, but the spirit of youre fadir, that spekith in you.
20 Porque não sereis vós que falareis, mas é o Espírito de vosso Pai que falará em vós.
21 `And the brother shal take the brother in to deeth, and the fader the sone, and sones schulen rise ayens fadir and modir, and schulen turmente hem bi deeth.
21 O irmão entregará seu irmão à morte. O pai, seu filho. Os filhos levantar-se-ão contra seus pais e os matarão.
22 And ye schulen be in hate to alle men for my name; but he that shall dwelle stille in to the ende, shal be saaf.
22 Sereis odiados de todos por causa de meu nome, mas aquele que perseverar até o fim será salvo.
23 And whanne thei pursuen you in this citee, fle ye in to anothir. Treuli Y seie to you, ye schulen not ende the citees of Israel, to for that mannus sone come.
23 Se vos perseguirem numa cidade, fugi para uma outra. Em verdade vos digo: não acabareis de percorrer as cidades de Israel antes que volte o Filho do Homem.
24 The disciple is not aboue the maistir, ne the seruaunt aboue hys lord;
24 O discípulo não é mais que o mestre, o servidor não é mais que o patrão.
25 it is ynowy to the disciple, that he be as his maistir, and to the seruaunt as his lord. If thei han clepid the hosebonde man Belsabub, hou myche more his houshold meyne?
25 Basta ao discípulo ser tratado como seu mestre, e ao servidor como seu patrão. Se chamaram de Beelzebul ao pai de família, quanto mais o farão às pessoas de sua casa!
26 Therfor drede ye not hem; for no thing is hid, that schal not be shewid; and no thing is priuey, that schal not be wist.
26 Não os temais, pois; porque nada há de escondido que não venha à luz, nada de secreto que não se venha a saber.
27 That thing that Y seie to you in derknessis, seie ye in the liyt; and preche ye on housis, that thing that ye heeren in the ere.
27 O que vos digo na escuridão, dizei-o às claras. O que vos é dito ao ouvido, publicai-o de cima dos telhados.
28 And nyle ye drede hem that sleen the bodi; for thei moun not sle the soule; but rather drede ye hym, that mai lese bothe soule and bodi in to helle.
28 Não temais aqueles que matam o corpo, mas não podem matar a alma; temei antes aquele que pode precipitar a alma e o corpo na geena.
29 Whether twei sparewis ben not seeld for an halpeny? and oon of hem shal not falle on the erthe with outen youre fadir.
29 Não se vendem dois passarinhos por um asse? No entanto, nenhum cai por terra sem a vontade de vosso Pai.
30 `And alle the heeris of youre heed ben noumbrid. Therfor nyle ye drede; ye ben betere than many sparewis.
30 Até os cabelos de vossa cabeça estão todos contados.
31 Therfor euery man that schal knouleche me bifore men, Y schal knouleche hym bifor my fadir that is in heuenes.
31 Não temais, pois! Bem mais que os pássaros valeis vós.
32 — ausente —
32 Portanto, quem der testemunho de mim diante dos homens, também eu darei testemunho dele diante de meu Pai que está nos céus.
33 But he that shal denye me bifor men, and I shal denye him bifor my fadir that is in heuenes.
33 Aquele, porém, que me negar diante dos homens, também eu o negarei diante de meu Pai que está nos céus.
34 Nile ye deme, that Y cam to sende pees in to erthe; Y cam not to sende pees, but swerd.
34 Não julgueis que vim trazer a paz à terra. Vim trazer não a paz, mas a espada.
35 For Y cam to departe a man ayens his fadir, and the douytir ayens hir modir, and the sones wijf ayens the housbondis modir;
35 Eu vim trazer a divisão entre o filho e o pai, entre a filha e a mãe, entre a nora e a sogra,
36 and the enemyes of a man ben `thei, that ben homeli with him.
36 e os inimigos do homem serão as pessoas de sua própria casa.
37 He that loueth fadir or modir more than me, is not worthi to me. And he that loueth sone or douyter ouer me, is not worthi to me.
37 Quem ama seu pai ou sua mãe mais que a mim, não é digno de mim. Quem ama seu filho mais que a mim, não é digno de mim.
38 And he that takith not his croos, and sueth me, is not worthi to me.
38 Quem não toma a sua cruz e não me segue, não é digno de mim.
39 He that fyndith his lijf, shal lose it; and he that lesith his lijf for me, shal fynde it.
39 Aquele que tentar salvar a sua vida, perdê-la-á. Aquele que a perder, por minha causa, reencontrá-la-á.
40 He that resseyueth you, resseyueth me; and he that resseyueth me, resseyueth hym that sente me.
40 Quem vos recebe, a mim recebe. E quem me recebe, recebe aquele que me enviou.
41 He that resseyueth a prophete in the name of a prophete, shal take the mede of a prophete. And he that resseyueth a iust man in the name of a iust man, schal take the mede of a iust man.
41 Aquele que recebe um profeta, na qualidade de profeta, receberá uma recompensa de profeta. Aquele que recebe um justo, na qualidade de justo, receberá uma recompensa de justo.
42 And who euer yyueth drynke to oon of these leeste a cuppe of coolde watir oonli in the name of a disciple, treuli Y seie to you, he shal not leese his mede.
42 Todo aquele que der ainda que seja somente um copo de água fresca a um destes pequeninos, porque é meu discípulo, em verdade eu vos digo: não perderá sua recompensa.
