1 And whanne his twelue disciplis weren clepid togidere, he yaf to hem powere of vnclene spiritis, to caste hem out of men, and to heele eueri langour, and sijknesse.
1 Jesus reuniu seus doze discípulos e lhes deu autoridade para expulsar espíritos impuros e curar todo tipo de enfermidade e doença.
2 And these ben the names of the twelue apostlis; the firste, Symount, that is clepid Petre, and Andrew, his brothir; James of Zebede, and Joon, his brothir; Filip, and Bartholomeu;
2 Estes são os nomes dos doze apóstolos: primeiro, Simão, também chamado Pedro, depois André, irmão de Pedro, Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, João, irmão de Tiago,
3 Thomas, and Matheu, pupplican; and James Alfey, and Tadee;
3 Filipe, Bartolomeu, Tomé, Mateus, o cobrador de impostos, Tiago, filho de Alfeu, Tadeu,
4 Symount Chananee, and Judas Scarioth, that bitrayede Crist.
4 Simão, o cananeu, Judas Iscariotes, que depois traiu Jesus.
5 Jhesus sente these twelue, and comaundide hem, and seide, Go ye not `in to the weie of hethene men, and entre ye not in to the citees of Samaritans;
5 Jesus enviou os Doze com as seguintes instruções: “Não vão aos gentios nem aos samaritanos;
6 but rather go ye to the scheep of the hous of Israel, that han perischid.
6 vão, antes, às ovelhas perdidas do povo de Israel.
7 And go ye, and preche ye, and seie, that the kyngdam of heuenes shal neiye;
7 Vão e anunciem que o reino dos céus está próximo.
8 heele ye sike men, reise ye deede men, clense ye mesels, caste ye out deuelis; freeli ye han takun, freli yyue ye.
8 Curem os doentes, ressuscitem os mortos, purifiquem os leprosos e expulsem os demônios. Deem de graça, pois também de graça vocês receberam.
9 Nyle ye welde gold, nether siluer, ne money in youre girdlis, not a scrippe in the weie,
9 “Não levem no cinto moedas de ouro, prata ou mesmo de cobre.
10 nether twei cootis, nethir shoon, nether a yerde; for a werkman is worthi his mete.
10 Não levem bolsa de viagem, nem outra muda de roupa, nem sandálias, nem cajado. Quem trabalha merece seu sustento.
11 In to what euere citee or castel ye schulen entre, axe ye who therynne is worthi, and there dwelle ye, til ye go out.
11 “Sempre que entrarem em uma cidade ou povoado, procurem uma pessoa digna e fiquem em sua casa até partirem.
12 And whanne ye goon in to an hous, `grete ye it, and seyn, Pees to this hous.
12 Quando entrarem na casa, saúdem-na com a paz.
13 And if thilk hous be worthi, youre pees schal come on it; but if that hous be not worthi, youre pees schal turne ayen to you.
13 Se o lar se revelar digno, que sua paz permaneça nela; se não, retirem a bênção.
14 And who euere resseyueth not you, nethir herith youre wordis, go ye fro that hous or citee, and sprenge of the dust of youre feet.
14 Se alguma casa ou cidade se recusar a recebê-los ou a ouvir sua mensagem, sacudam a poeira dos pés ao sair.
15 Treuly Y seie to you, it shal be more suffrable to the loond of men of Sodom and of Gommor in the dai of iugement, than to thilke citee.
15 Eu lhes digo a verdade: no dia do juízo, as cidades perversas de Sodoma e Gomorra serão tratadas com menos rigor que essa cidade.
16 Lo! Y sende you as scheep in the myddil of wolues; therfor be ye sliy as serpentis, and symple as dowues.
16 “Ouçam, eu os envio como ovelhas no meio de lobos. Portanto, sejam espertos como serpentes e simples como pombas.
17 But be ye war of men, for thei schulen take you in counseilis, and thei schulen bete you in her synagogis;
17 Tenham cuidado, pois vocês serão entregues aos tribunais e chicoteados nas sinagogas.
18 and to meyris, or presidentis, and to kyngis, ye schulen be lad for me, in witnessyng to hem, and to the hethen men.
18 Por minha causa serão julgados diante de governantes e reis, mas essa será a oportunidade de falar a meu respeito a eles e aos gentios.
19 But whanne thei take you, nyle ye thenke, hou or what thing ye schulen speke, for it shal be youun `to you in that our, what ye schulen speke;
19 Quando forem presos, não se preocupem com o modo como responderão nem com o que dirão. Naquele momento, as palavras certas lhes serão concedidas,
20 for it ben not ye that speken, but the spirit of youre fadir, that spekith in you.
20 pois não serão vocês que falarão, mas o Espírito de seu Pai falará por meio de vocês.
21 `And the brother shal take the brother in to deeth, and the fader the sone, and sones schulen rise ayens fadir and modir, and schulen turmente hem bi deeth.
21 “O irmão trairá seu irmão e o entregará à morte, e assim também o pai a seu próprio filho. Os filhos se rebelarão contra os pais e os matarão.
22 And ye schulen be in hate to alle men for my name; but he that shall dwelle stille in to the ende, shal be saaf.
22 Todos os odiarão por minha causa, mas quem perseverar até o fim será salvo.
23 And whanne thei pursuen you in this citee, fle ye in to anothir. Treuli Y seie to you, ye schulen not ende the citees of Israel, to for that mannus sone come.
23 Quando forem perseguidos numa cidade, fujam para outra. Eu lhes digo a verdade: o Filho do Homem voltará antes que tenham percorrido todas as cidades de Israel.
24 The disciple is not aboue the maistir, ne the seruaunt aboue hys lord;
24 “O discípulo não está acima de seu mestre, nem o escravo acima de seu senhor.
25 it is ynowy to the disciple, that he be as his maistir, and to the seruaunt as his lord. If thei han clepid the hosebonde man Belsabub, hou myche more his houshold meyne?
25 Para o discípulo é suficiente ser como seu mestre, e o escravo, como seu senhor. Uma vez que o dono da casa foi chamado de Belzebu, os membros da família serão chamados de nomes ainda piores!
26 Therfor drede ye not hem; for no thing is hid, that schal not be shewid; and no thing is priuey, that schal not be wist.
26 “Não tenham medo daqueles que os ameaçam, pois virá o dia em que tudo que está encoberto será revelado, e tudo que é secreto será divulgado.
27 That thing that Y seie to you in derknessis, seie ye in the liyt; and preche ye on housis, that thing that ye heeren in the ere.
27 O que agora lhes digo no escuro, anunciem às claras, e o que sussurro em seus ouvidos, proclamem dos telhados.
28 And nyle ye drede hem that sleen the bodi; for thei moun not sle the soule; but rather drede ye hym, that mai lese bothe soule and bodi in to helle.
28 “Não tenham medo dos que querem matar o corpo; eles não podem tocar na alma. Temam somente a Deus, que pode destruir no inferno tanto a alma como o corpo.
29 Whether twei sparewis ben not seeld for an halpeny? and oon of hem shal not falle on the erthe with outen youre fadir.
29 Quanto custam dois pardais? Uma moeda de cobre? No entanto, nenhum deles cai no chão sem o conhecimento de seu Pai.
30 `And alle the heeris of youre heed ben noumbrid. Therfor nyle ye drede; ye ben betere than many sparewis.
30 Quanto a vocês, até os cabelos de sua cabeça estão contados.
31 Therfor euery man that schal knouleche me bifore men, Y schal knouleche hym bifor my fadir that is in heuenes.
31 Portanto, não tenham medo; vocês são muito mais valiosos que um bando inteiro de pardais.

32 “Quem me reconhecer em público aqui na terra, eu o reconhecerei diante de meu Pai no céu.
33 But he that shal denye me bifor men, and I shal denye him bifor my fadir that is in heuenes.
33 Mas quem me negar aqui na terra, eu também o negarei diante de meu Pai no céu.
34 Nile ye deme, that Y cam to sende pees in to erthe; Y cam not to sende pees, but swerd.
34 “Não imaginem que vim trazer paz à terra! Não vim trazer paz, mas a espada.
35 For Y cam to departe a man ayens his fadir, and the douytir ayens hir modir, and the sones wijf ayens the housbondis modir;
35 ‘Vim para pôr o homem contra seu pai, a filha contra sua mãe, e a nora contra sua sogra.
36 and the enemyes of a man ben `thei, that ben homeli with him.
36 Seus inimigos estarão em sua própria casa’.
37 He that loueth fadir or modir more than me, is not worthi to me. And he that loueth sone or douyter ouer me, is not worthi to me.
37 “Quem ama seu pai ou sua mãe mais que a mim não é digno de mim; e quem ama seu filho ou sua filha mais que a mim não é digno de mim.
38 And he that takith not his croos, and sueth me, is not worthi to me.
38 Quem se recusa a tomar sua cruz e me seguir não é digno de mim.
39 He that fyndith his lijf, shal lose it; and he that lesith his lijf for me, shal fynde it.
39 Quem se apegar à própria vida a perderá; mas quem abrir mão de sua vida por minha causa a encontrará.
40 He that resseyueth you, resseyueth me; and he that resseyueth me, resseyueth hym that sente me.
40 “Quem recebe vocês recebe a mim, e quem me recebe também recebe aquele que me enviou.
41 He that resseyueth a prophete in the name of a prophete, shal take the mede of a prophete. And he that resseyueth a iust man in the name of a iust man, schal take the mede of a iust man.
41 Quem acolhe um profeta como alguém que fala da parte de Deus recebe a mesma recompensa que um profeta. E quem acolhe um justo por causa de sua justiça recebe uma recompensa igual à dele.
42 And who euer yyueth drynke to oon of these leeste a cuppe of coolde watir oonli in the name of a disciple, treuli Y seie to you, he shal not leese his mede.
42 Se alguém der um copo de água fria que seja ao menor de meus seguidores, certamente não perderá sua recompensa”.
