1 Who schal yyue watir to myn heed, and a welle of teeris to myn iyen? And Y schal biwepe dai and niyt the slayn men of the douyter of my puple.
1 Ah, se a minha cabeça fosse uma fonte de água e os meus olhos um manancial de lágrimas! Eu choraria noite e dia pelos mortos do meu povo.
2 Who schal yyue me in to a wildirnesse of dyuerse weigoeris? And I schal forsake my puple, and Y schal go awei fro hem. For whi alle ben auowteris, and the cumpenyes of trespassouris ayens the lawe;
2 Ah, se houvesse um alojamento para mim no deserto, para que eu pudesse deixar o meu povo e afastar-me dele. São todos adúlteros, um bando de traidores!
3 and thei helden forth her tunge as a bouwe of leesyng, and not of treuthe Thei ben coumfortid in erthe, for thei yeden out fro yuel to yuel, and thei knewen not me, seith the Lord.
3 "A língua deles é como um arco pronto para atirar. É a falsidade, não a verdade, que prevalece nesta terra. Eles vão de um crime a outro; eles não me reconhecem", declara o Senhor.
4 Ech man kepe hym fro his neiybore, and haue no trist in ony brother of hym; for whi ech brother disseyuyng schal disseyue, and ech frend schal go gilefuli.
4 "Cuidado com os seus amigos, não confie em seus parentes. Porque cada parente é um enganador, e cada amigo um caluniador.
5 And a man schal scorne his brother, and schal not speke treuthe; for thei tauyten her tunge to speke leesyng; thei traueliden to do wickidli.
5 Amigo engana amigo, ninguém fala a verdade. Eles treinaram a língua para mentir; e, sendo perversos, eles se cansam demais para se converterem.
6 Thi dwellyng is in the myddis of gile; in gile thei forsoken to knowe me, seith the Lord.
6 De opressão em opressão, de engano em engano, eles se recusam a reconhecer-me", declara o Senhor.
7 Therfor the Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal welle togidere, and Y schal preue hem; for whi what other thing schal Y do fro the face of the douyter of my puple?
7 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: "Vejam, sou eu que os refinarei e os provarei. Que mais posso eu fazer pelo meu povo?
8 The tunge of hem is an arowe woundynge, and spak gile; in his mouth he spekith pees with his frend, and priueli he settith tresouns to hym.
8 A língua deles é uma flecha mortal; eles falam traiçoeiramente. Cada um mostra-se cordial com o seu próximo, mas no íntimo lhe prepara uma armadilha.
9 Whether Y schal not visite on these thingis, seith the Lord, ether schal not my soule take veniaunce on siche a folc?
9 Deixarei eu de castigá-los? ", pergunta o Senhor. "Não me vingarei de uma nação como essa? "
10 On hillis Y schal take wepyng and mournyng, and weilyng on the faire thingis of desert, for tho ben brent; for no man is passynge forth, and thei herden not the vois of hym that weldith; fro a brid of the eir `til to scheep, tho passiden ouer, and yeden awei.
10 Chorarei, prantearei e me lamentarei pelos montes por causa das pastagens da estepe; pois estão abandonadas e ninguém mais as percorre. Não se ouve o mugir do gado; tanto as aves como os animais fugiram.
11 And Y schal yyue Jerusalem in to heepis of grauel, and in to dennes of dragouns; and Y schal yyue the citees of Juda in to desolacioun, for ther is no dwellere.
11 "Farei de Jerusalém um amontoado de ruínas, uma habitação de chacais. Devastarei as cidades de Judá até não restar nenhum morador. "
12 Who is a wise man that schal vndurstonde these thingis, and to whom the word of the mouth of the Lord schal be maad, that he telle this? Whi the erthe perischide, it is brent as desert, for noon is that passith?
12 Quem é bastante sábio para compreender isso? Quem foi instruído pelo Senhor, que possa explicá-lo? Por que a terra está arruinada e devastada como um deserto pelo qual ninguém passa?
13 And the Lord seide, For thei forsoken my lawe, which Y yaf to hem, and thei herden not my vois, and thei yeden not therynne;
13 O Senhor disse: "Foi porque abandonaram a minha lei, que estabeleci diante deles; não me obedeceram nem seguiram a minha lei.
14 and thei yeden aftir the schrewidnesse of her herte, and aftir Baalym, which thei lerneden of her fadris;
14 Em vez disso, seguiram a dureza de seus próprios corações, indo atrás dos baalins, como os seus antepassados lhes ensinaram".
15 therfor the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal fede this puple with wermod, and Y schal yyue to hem drynke the watir of galle.
15 Por isso, assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: "Vejam! Farei este povo comer comida amarga e beber água envenenada.
16 And Y schal scatere hem among hethene men, whiche thei and her fadris knewen not; and Y schal sende swerd aftir hem, til thei ben wastid.
16 Eu os espalharei entre nações que nem eles nem os seus antepassados conheceram; e enviarei contra eles a espada até exterminá-los".
17 The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Biholde ye, and clepe ye wymmen `that weilen, and come thei; and sende ye to tho wymmen that ben wise, and haste thei.
17 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: "Considerem: Chamem as pranteadoras profissionais; mandem chamar as mais hábeis entre elas.
18 Haste thei, and take thei weilynge on you; youre iyen brynge doun teeris, and youre iyelidis flowe with watris;
18 Venham elas depressa e lamentem por nós, até que os nossos olhos transbordem de lágrimas e águas corram de nossas pálpebras.
19 for the vois of weilyng is herd fro Sion. Hou ben we distried, and schent greetli? for we han forsake the lond, for oure tabernaclis ben forsakun.
19 O som de lamento se ouve desde Sião: ‘Como estamos arruinados! Como é grande a nossa humilhação! Deixamos a nossa terra porque as nossas casas estão em ruínas’ ".
20 Therfor, wymmen, here ye the word of the Lord, and youre eeris take the word of his mouth; and teche ye youre douytris weilyng, and ech womman teche hir neiybore mournyng.
20 Ó mulheres, ouçam agora a palavra do Senhor; abram os ouvidos às palavras de sua boca. Ensinem suas filhas a lamentar-se; ensinem umas as outras a prantear.
21 For whi deth stiede bi youre wyndows, it entride in to youre housis, to leese litle children with outforth, and yonge men fro the stretis.
21 A morte subiu e penetrou pelas nossas janelas e invadiu as nossas fortalezas, eliminando das ruas as crianças e das praças, os rapazes.
22 Speke thou, the Lord seith, these thingis, And the deed bodi of a man schal fal doun as a toord on the face of the cuntrei, and as hei bihynde the bak of the mowere, and noon is that gaderith.
22 "Diga: ‘Assim declara o Senhor: " ‘Cadáveres ficarão estirados como esterco em campo aberto, como o trigo deixado para trás pelo ceifeiro, sem que ninguém o ajunte’. "
23 The Lord seith these thingis, A wise man haue not glorie in his wisdom, and a strong man haue not glorie in his strengthe, and a riche man haue not glorie in hise richessis; but he that hath glorie,
23 Assim diz o Senhor: "Não se glorie o sábio em sua sabedoria nem o forte em sua força nem o rico em sua riqueza,
24 haue glorie in this, to wite and knowe me, for Y am the Lord, that do merci and dom and riytfulnesse in erthe. For whi these thingis plesen me, seith the Lord.
24 mas quem se gloriar, glorie-se nisto: em compreender-me e conhecer-me, pois eu sou o Senhor, e ajo com lealdade, com justiça e com retidão sobre a terra, pois é dessas coisas que me agrado", declara o Senhor.
25 Lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal visite on ech man that hath prepucie vncircumcidid; on Egipt,
25 "Vêm chegando os dias", declara o Senhor, "em que castigarei todos os que são circuncidados apenas no corpo,
26 and on Juda, and on Edom, and on the sones of Amon, and on Moab, and on alle men that ben clippid on long heer, and dwellen in desert; for whi alle hethene men han prepucie, forsothe al the hous of Israel ben vncircumcidid in herte.
26 como também o Egito, Judá, Edom, Amom, Moabe e todos os que rapam a cabeça e vivem no deserto; porque todas essas nações são incircuncisas, e a comunidade de Israel tem o coração obstinado. "
