1 Who schal yyue watir to myn heed, and a welle of teeris to myn iyen? And Y schal biwepe dai and niyt the slayn men of the douyter of my puple.
1 Oxalá a minha cabeça se tornasse em águas, e os meus olhos numa fonte de lágrimas, para que eu chorasse de dia e de noite os mortos da filha do meu povo!
2 Who schal yyue me in to a wildirnesse of dyuerse weigoeris? And I schal forsake my puple, and Y schal go awei fro hem. For whi alle ben auowteris, and the cumpenyes of trespassouris ayens the lawe;
2 Oxalá que eu tivesse no deserto uma estalagem de viandantes, para poder deixar o meu povo, e me apartar dele! porque todos eles são adúlteros, um bando de aleivosos.
3 and thei helden forth her tunge as a bouwe of leesyng, and not of treuthe Thei ben coumfortid in erthe, for thei yeden out fro yuel to yuel, and thei knewen not me, seith the Lord.
3 E encurvam a língua, como se fosse o seu arco, para a mentira; fortalecem-se na terra, mas não para a verdade; porque avançam de malícia em malícia, e a mim me não conhecem, diz o Senhor.
4 Ech man kepe hym fro his neiybore, and haue no trist in ony brother of hym; for whi ech brother disseyuyng schal disseyue, and ech frend schal go gilefuli.
4 Guardai-vos cada um do seu próximo, e de irmão nenhum vos fieis; porque todo irmão não faz mais do que enganar, e todo próximo anda caluniando.
5 And a man schal scorne his brother, and schal not speke treuthe; for thei tauyten her tunge to speke leesyng; thei traueliden to do wickidli.
5 E engana cada um a seu próximo, e nunca fala a verdade; ensinaram a sua língua a falar a mentira; andam-se cansando em praticar a iniqüidade.
6 Thi dwellyng is in the myddis of gile; in gile thei forsoken to knowe me, seith the Lord.
6 A tua habitação está no meio do engano; pelo engano recusam-se a conhecer-me, diz o Senhor.
7 Therfor the Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal welle togidere, and Y schal preue hem; for whi what other thing schal Y do fro the face of the douyter of my puple?
7 Portanto assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que eu os fundirei e os provarei; pois, de que outra maneira poderia proceder com a filha do meu povo?
8 The tunge of hem is an arowe woundynge, and spak gile; in his mouth he spekith pees with his frend, and priueli he settith tresouns to hym.
8 uma flecha mortífera é a língua deles; fala engano; com a sua boca fala cada um de paz com o seu próximo, mas no coração arma-lhe ciladas.
9 Whether Y schal not visite on these thingis, seith the Lord, ether schal not my soule take veniaunce on siche a folc?
9 Não hei de castigá-los por estas coisas? diz o Senhor; ou não me vingarei de uma nação tal como esta?
10 On hillis Y schal take wepyng and mournyng, and weilyng on the faire thingis of desert, for tho ben brent; for no man is passynge forth, and thei herden not the vois of hym that weldith; fro a brid of the eir `til to scheep, tho passiden ouer, and yeden awei.
10 Pelos montes levantai choro e pranto, e pelas pastagens do deserto lamentação; porque já estão queimadas, de modo que ninguém passa por elas; nem se ouve mugido de gado; desde as aves dos céus até os animais, fugiram e se foram.
11 And Y schal yyue Jerusalem in to heepis of grauel, and in to dennes of dragouns; and Y schal yyue the citees of Juda in to desolacioun, for ther is no dwellere.
11 E farei de Jerusalém montões de pedras, morada de chacais, e das cidades de Judá farei uma desolação, de sorte que fiquem sem habitantes.
12 Who is a wise man that schal vndurstonde these thingis, and to whom the word of the mouth of the Lord schal be maad, that he telle this? Whi the erthe perischide, it is brent as desert, for noon is that passith?
12 Quem é o homem sábio, que entenda isto? e a quem falou a boca do Senhor, para que o possa anunciar? Por que razão pereceu a terra, e se queimou como um deserto, de sorte que ninguém passa por ela?
13 And the Lord seide, For thei forsoken my lawe, which Y yaf to hem, and thei herden not my vois, and thei yeden not therynne;
13 E diz o Senhor: porque deixaram a minha lei, que lhes pus diante, e não deram ouvidos à minha voz, nem andaram nela,
14 and thei yeden aftir the schrewidnesse of her herte, and aftir Baalym, which thei lerneden of her fadris;
14 antes andaram obstinadamente segundo o seu próprio coração, e após baalins, como lhes ensinaram os seus pais.
15 therfor the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal fede this puple with wermod, and Y schal yyue to hem drynke the watir of galle.
15 Portanto assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que darei de comer losna a este povo, e lhe darei a beber água de fel.
16 And Y schal scatere hem among hethene men, whiche thei and her fadris knewen not; and Y schal sende swerd aftir hem, til thei ben wastid.
16 Também os espalharei por entre nações que nem eles nem seus pais conheceram; e mandarei a espada após eles, até que venha a consumi-los.
17 The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Biholde ye, and clepe ye wymmen `that weilen, and come thei; and sende ye to tho wymmen that ben wise, and haste thei.
17 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Considerai, e chamai as carpideiras, para que venham; e mandai procurar mulheres hábeis, para que venham também;
18 Haste thei, and take thei weilynge on you; youre iyen brynge doun teeris, and youre iyelidis flowe with watris;
18 e se apressem, e levantem o seu lamento sobre nós, para que se desfaçam em lágrimas os nossos olhos, e as nossas pálpebras destilem águas.
19 for the vois of weilyng is herd fro Sion. Hou ben we distried, and schent greetli? for we han forsake the lond, for oure tabernaclis ben forsakun.
19 Porque uma voz de pranto se ouviu de Sião: Como estamos arruinados! Estamos mui envergonhados, por termos deixado a terra, e por terem eles transtornado as nossas moradas.
20 Therfor, wymmen, here ye the word of the Lord, and youre eeris take the word of his mouth; and teche ye youre douytris weilyng, and ech womman teche hir neiybore mournyng.
20 Contudo ouvi, vós, mulheres, a palavra do Senhor, e recebam os vossos ouvidos a palavra da sua boca; e ensinai a vossas filhas o pranto, e cada uma à sua vizinha a lamentação.
21 For whi deth stiede bi youre wyndows, it entride in to youre housis, to leese litle children with outforth, and yonge men fro the stretis.
21 Pois a morte subiu pelas nossas janelas, e entrou em nossos palácios, para exterminar das ruas as crianças, e das praças os mancebos.
22 Speke thou, the Lord seith, these thingis, And the deed bodi of a man schal fal doun as a toord on the face of the cuntrei, and as hei bihynde the bak of the mowere, and noon is that gaderith.
22 Fala: Assim diz o Senhor: Até os cadáveres dos homens cairão como esterco sobre a face do campo, e como gavela atrás do segador, e não há quem a recolha.
23 The Lord seith these thingis, A wise man haue not glorie in his wisdom, and a strong man haue not glorie in his strengthe, and a riche man haue not glorie in hise richessis; but he that hath glorie,
23 Assim diz o Senhor: Não se glorie o sábio na sua sabedoria, nem se glorie o forte na sua força; não se glorie o rico nas suas riquezas;
24 haue glorie in this, to wite and knowe me, for Y am the Lord, that do merci and dom and riytfulnesse in erthe. For whi these thingis plesen me, seith the Lord.
24 mas o que se gloriar, glorie-se nisto: em entender, e em me conhecer, que eu sou o Senhor, que faço benevolência, juízo e justiça na terra; porque destas coisas me agrado, diz o Senhor.
25 Lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal visite on ech man that hath prepucie vncircumcidid; on Egipt,
25 Eis que vêm dias, diz o Senhor, em que castigarei a todo circuncidado pela sua incircuncisão:
26 and on Juda, and on Edom, and on the sones of Amon, and on Moab, and on alle men that ben clippid on long heer, and dwellen in desert; for whi alle hethene men han prepucie, forsothe al the hous of Israel ben vncircumcidid in herte.
26 ao Egito, a Judá e a Edom, aos filhos de Amom e a Moabe, e a todos os que cortam os cantos da sua cabeleira e habitam no deserto; pois todas as nações são incircuncisas, e toda a casa de Israel é incircuncisa de coração.
