1 The birthun of the forsakun see. As whirlewyndis comen fro the southwest, it cometh fro desert, fro the orible lond.
1 A Carga do deserto do mar. Como furacões que assolam no sul, assim ele vem do deserto, de uma terrível terra.
2 An hard reuelacioun is teld to me; he that is vnfeithful, doith vnfeithfuli; and he that is a distriere, distrieth. Thou Helam, stie, and thou, Meda, biseche; Y made al the weilyng therof for to ceesse.
2 Uma grave visão é declarada a mim. O comerciante traiçoeiro negocia traiçoeiramente, e o saqueador saqueia. Sobe, ó Elã. Sitia, ó Média. Todo o suspiro daquele lugar tenho eu feito cessar.
3 Therfor my leendis ben fillid with sorewe; angwische weldide me, as the angwisch of a womman trauelynge of child; Y felle doun, whanne Y herde; Y was disturblid, whanne Y siy.
3 Portanto, os meus rins estão cheios de dor. Angústias têm se apoderado de mim, como as angústias de uma mulher em trabalho de parto. Eu me contorcia ao ouvir isto, eu estava aterrorizado ao ver isto.
4 Myn herte fadide, derknessis astonieden me; Babiloyne, my derlyng, is set to me in to myracle.
4 Meu coração pulsou fortemente, o temor aterrorizou-me. A noite do meu prazer tem ele tornado em medo para mim.
5 Sette thou a boord, biholde thou in to a toting place; rise, ye princes, etynge and drynkynge, take ye scheeld.
5 Preparem a mesa, observem na torre de vigia, comam, bebam. Levantai, vós príncipes e untai o escudo.
6 For whi the Lord seide these thingis to me, Go thou, and sette a lokere; and telle he, what euer thing he seeth.
6 Porque assim tem o Senhor me falado: Vai, coloca uma sentinela e permite a ela dizer o que vê.
7 And he siy the chare of tweyne horse men, the stiere of an asse, and the stiere of a camel; and he bihelde diligentli with myche lokyng,
7 E ele viu uma carruagem de guerra com dois cavaleiros, uma carruagem de guerra tracionada por jumentos e uma carruagem de guerra tracionada por camelos. E ele escutou diligentemente, com muita atenção.
8 and criede as a lioun, Y stonde contynueli bi dai on the totyng place of the Lord, and Y stonde bi alle nyytis on my kepyng.
8 E ele bradou: Um leão! Meu senhor, eu permaneço continuamente sobre a torre de vigia durante o dia, e sou colocado no posto de guarda sob minha responsabilidade noites inteiras.
9 Lo! this cometh, a man stiere of a carte of horse men. And Isaie criede, and seide, Babiloyne felle doun, felle doun; and alle the grauun ymagis of goddis therof ben al to-brokun in to erthe.
9 E observes, lá vem uma carruagem de homens de guerra, com um par de cavaleiros. E ele respondeu e disse: Caída está Babilônia, está caída, e todas as imagens esculpidas dos deuses dela ele as tem quebrado no chão.
10 Mi threschyng, and the douyter of my cornfloor, Y haue teld to you what thingis Y herde of the Lord of oostis, of God of Israel.
10 Ó meu debulhador e o trigo da minha eira, o que eu tenho ouvido do SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, tenho eu te declarado.
11 The birthun of Duma. It crieth fro Seir to me, Kepere, what our of the niyt? `kepere, what our of the niyt?
11 A carga de Dumá. Ele me chama de Seir: Sentinela, o que aconteceu durante a noite? Sentinela, o que aconteceu durante a noite?
12 The kepere seide, Morewtid cometh, and niyt; if ye seken, seke ye, and be ye conuertid, and `come ye.
12 A sentinela disse: A manhã chega e também a noite. Se vós vierdes a inquirir, inquiri vós. Retorneis, vinde.
13 The birthun in Arabie. In the forest at euentid ye schulen slepe, in the pathis of Dodanym.
13 A carga sobre a Arábia. No interior da floresta na Arábia vós acampareis, ó vós, caravanas de Dedanim.
14 Ye that dwellen in the lond of the south, renne, and bere watir to the thristi; and renne ye with looues to hym that fleeth.
14 Os habitantes da terra de Tema trouxeram água para ele que estava sedento. Eles satisfizeram com o seu pão aquele que fugiu.
15 For thei fledden fro the face of swerdis, fro the face of swerd neiyynge, fro the face of bouwe bent, fro the face of greuouse batel.
15 Porque eles fugiram das espadas, da espada desembainhada e do arco retesado, e do penar da guerra.
16 For the Lord seith these thingis to me, Yit in o yeer, as in the yeer of an hirid man, and al the glorie of Cedar schal be takun awei.
16 Porque desta forma o Senhor tem dito a mim: Dentro de um ano, de acordo com os anos de um diarista, e toda a glória de Quedar falhará.
17 And the remenauntis of the noumbre of stronge archeris of the sones of Cedar schulen be maad lesse; for whi the Lord God of Israel spak.
17 E o remanescente do número dos arqueiros, os homens poderosos dos filhos de Quedar, será diminuído, porque o SENHOR Deus de Israel tem dito isto.
