1 Forsothe God visitide Sare, as he bihiyte, and fillide tho thingis, that he spak.
1 O Senhor visitou Sara, como tinha dito, e cumpriu o que lhe havia prometido.
2 And sche conseyuede, and childide a sone in hir eeld, in the tyme wherynne God biforseide to hir.
2 Sara ficou grávida e deu à luz um filho a Abraão na sua velhice, no tempo determinado, de que Deus lhe havia falado.
3 And Abraham clepide the name of his sone, whom Sare childide to him, Ysaac.
3 Ao filho que lhe nasceu, que Sara lhe dera à luz, Abraão deu o nome de Isaque.
4 And Abraham circumcidide hym in the eiyte dai, as God comaundide to him,
4 Abraão circuncidou o seu filho Isaque, quando ele tinha oito dias, segundo Deus lhe havia ordenado.
5 whanne he was of an hundrid yeer; for Ysaac was borun in this age of the fadir.
5 Abraão tinha cem anos quando lhe nasceu Isaque, seu filho.
6 And Sare seide, The Lord made leiyynge to me, and who euer schal here schal leiye with me.
6 E Sara disse: — Deus me deu motivo de riso. E todo aquele que ouvir isso vai rir comigo.
7 And eft sche seide, Who schulde here, and bileue to Abraham, that Sare schulde yyue soukyng to a sone, whom sche childide to him now an eld man?
7 E acrescentou: — Quem diria a Abraão que Sara ainda amamentaria um filho? Pois na sua velhice lhe dei um filho.
8 Therfor the child encreesside, and was wenyd; and Abraham made a greet feeste in the dai of his wenyng.
8 Isaque cresceu e foi desmamado. Nesse dia em que o menino foi desmamado, Abraão deu um grande banquete.
9 And whanne Sare seiy the sone of Agar Egipcian pleiynge with Ysaac hir sone, sche seide to Abraham,
9 Sara viu que o filho que Agar, a egípcia, teve com Abraão estava zombando de Isaque.
10 Cast thou out the handmayde and hir sone; for the sone of the handmayde schal not be eir with my sone Ysaac.
10 Então Sara disse a Abraão: — Mande embora essa escrava e o filho dela, porque o filho dessa escrava não será herdeiro com o meu filho Isaque.
11 Abraham took this heuyli for his sone;
11 Abraão ficou muito incomodado com isso, por causa de seu filho.
12 and God seide to hym, Be it not seyn scharp to thee on the child, and on thin handmayde; alle thingis whiche Sare seith to thee, here thou hir vois, for in Isaac seed schal be clepid to thee;
12 Mas Deus disse a Abraão: — Não fique incomodado por causa do menino e por causa da escrava. Faça tudo o que Sara disser, porque por meio de Isaque será chamada a sua descendência.
13 but also I schal make the sone of the handmaid in to a greet folk, for he is thi seed.
13 Mas também do filho da escrava farei uma grande nação, porque ele é seu descendente.
14 And so Abraham roos eerli, and took breed, and a botel of watir, and puttide on hir schuldre, and bitook the child, and lefte hir; and whanne sche hadde go, sche yede out of the weie in the wildirnesse of Bersabee.
14 Na manhã seguinte, Abraão levantou-se de madrugada, pegou pão e um odre de água, pôs tudo sobre as costas de Agar, deu-lhe o menino e a despediu. Ela saiu, andando sem rumo pelo deserto de Berseba.
15 And whanne the watir in the botel was endid, sche castide awei the child vndur a tre that was there;
15 Quando acabou a água que havia no odre, Agar colocou o menino debaixo de um dos arbustos.
16 and sche yede awei, and sche sat euene ayens as fer as a bowe may caste; for sche seide, Y schal not se the child diynge; and sche sat ayens, and reiside hir vois, and wepte.
16 E, afastando-se, foi sentar-se em frente, à distância de um tiro de arco, porque dizia: — Assim, não verei o menino morrer. E, sentando-se em frente dele, levantou a voz e chorou.
17 Forsothe the Lord herde the vois of the child, and the aungel of the Lord clepide Agar fro heuene, and seide, What doist thou, Agar? nyle thou drede, for God hath herd the vois of the child fro the place where ynne he is.
17 Deus, porém, ouviu a voz do menino. E, do céu, o Anjo de Deus chamou Agar e lhe disse: — O que é que você tem, Agar? Não tenha medo, porque Deus ouviu a voz do menino, aí onde ele está.
18 Rise thou, and take the child, and holde his hoond; for Y schal make hym in to a greet folc.
18 Ponha-se em pé, levante o menino e segure-o pela mão, porque eu farei dele um grande povo.
19 And God openyde hir iyen, and sche seiy a pit of watir, and sche yede, and fillide the botel, and sche yaf drynk to the child;
19 Então Deus lhe abriu os olhos, e ela viu um poço de água. E, indo até o poço, encheu o odre de água, e deu de beber ao menino.
20 and was with him, and he encresside, and dwellide in wildernesse, and he was maad a yong man an archer,
20 Deus estava com o menino, que cresceu, morou no deserto e se tornou flecheiro.
21 and dwellide in the deseert of Faran; and his modir took to him a wijf of the lond of Egipt.
21 Ele morava no deserto de Parã, e a mãe dele o casou com uma mulher da terra do Egito.
22 In the same tyme Abymelech, and Ficol, prince of his oost, seide to Abraham, God is with thee in alle thingis whiche thou doist;
22 Por esse tempo, Abimeleque e Ficol, comandante do seu exército, disseram a Abraão: — Deus está com você em tudo o que você faz.
23 therfore swere thou bi God that thou noye not me, and myn eiris, and my kynrede; but bi the mersi whych Y dide to thee, do thou to me, and to the lond in which thou lyuedist a comelyng.
23 Portanto, aqui neste lugar, jure por Deus que você não enganará a mim, nem a meu filho, nem a meu neto, e que tratará a mim e a terra em que você tem morado com a mesma bondade com que eu tratei você.
24 And Abraham seide, Y schal swere.
24 Abraão respondeu: — Eu juro.
25 And he blamyde Abymelech for the pit of watir, which hise seruauntis token awey bi violence.
25 Mas Abraão repreendeu Abimeleque por causa de um poço de água que os servos deste haviam tomado à força.
26 And Abymelech answerde, I wiste not who dide this thing, but also thou schewidist not to me, and Y herde not outakun to dai.
26 Abimeleque disse: — Não sei quem fez isso. Além do mais, você nunca me falou nada e eu não tinha ouvido nada a respeito, a não ser hoje.
27 And so Abraham took scheep and oxun, and yaf to Abymalech, and bothe smyten a boond of pees.
27 Então Abraão pegou ovelhas e bois e os deu a Abimeleque. E os dois fizeram uma aliança.
28 And Abraham settide seuene ewe lambren of the flok asidis half.
28 Abraão pôs à parte sete cordeiras do rebanho.
29 And Abymelech seide to hym, What wolen these seuene ewe lambren to hem silf, whiche thou madist stonde asidis half?
29 Abimeleque perguntou a Abraão: — Que significam as sete cordeiras que você pôs à parte?
30 And he seide, Thou schalt take of myn hond seuene ewe lambren, that tho be in to witnessyng to me, for Y diggide this pit.
30 Abraão respondeu: — Você receberá das minhas mãos as sete cordeiras, para que me sirvam de testemunho de que eu cavei este poço.
31 Therfor thilke place was clepid Bersabee, for euere eithir swore there;
31 Por isso aquele lugar foi chamado de Berseba, porque ali os dois fizeram um juramento.
32 and thei maden boond of pees for the pit of an ooth.
32 Assim, fizeram aliança em Berseba. Depois Abimeleque e Ficol, comandante do seu exército, voltaram para as terras dos filisteus.
33 Forsothe Abymelech roos, and Ficol, prince of his chyualrie, and thei turneden ayen in to the lond of Palestyns. Sotheli Abraham plauntide a wode in Bersabee, and inwardli clepide there the name of euerlastinge God;
33 Abraão plantou uma tamargueira em Berseba e invocou ali o nome do Senhor , o Deus Eterno.
34 and he was an erthetiliere ether a comelynge of the lond of Palestynes in many dayes.
34 E por muito tempo Abraão morou na terra dos filisteus.
