1 And it was doon in the seuenthe yeer, in the fyuethe monethe, in the tenthe dai of the monethe, men of the eldris of Israel camen to axe the Lord; and thei saten bifor me.
1 No sétimo ano, no décimo dia do quinto mês, vieram alguns anciãos de Israel consultar o Senhor, e se assentaram diante de mim.
2 And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
2 A palavra do Senhor me foi dirigida nestes termos:
3 and he seide, Sone of man, speke thou to the eldere men of Israel; and thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, Whether ye camen to axe me? Y lyue, for Y schal not answere to you, seith the Lord God. Sone of man,
3 filho do homem, dirige-te como se segue aos anciãos de Israel: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: viestes para me consultar. Por minha vida! Eu não me deixarei consultar por vós - oráculo do Senhor Javé.
4 if thou demest hem, if thou demest, schewe thou to hem the abhomynaciouns of her fadris.
4 Julga-os, julga-os pois, filho do homem. Faze-os reconhecer as abominações de seus pais.
5 And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, In the dai in which Y chees Israel, and reiside myn hond for the generacioun of the hous of Jacob, and Y apperide to hem in the lond of Egipt, and Y reiside myn hond for hem, and Y seide, Y am youre Lord God,
5 Dize-lhes: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: no dia em que fiz a escolha de Israel, em que levantei a mão para a raça de Jacó, em que me dei a conhecer a eles no Egito, em que ergui a mão para eles, dizendo: sou eu que sou o Senhor, vosso Deus -,
6 in that dai Y reiside myn hond for hem, that Y schulde leede hem out of the lond of Egipt, in to the lond which Y hadde purueiede to hem, the lond flowynge with mylk and hony, which is noble among alle londis.
6 foi nesse dia que jurei tirá-los do Egito para conduzi-los à terra que eu escolhera para eles, terra que mana leite e mel, a jóia de todos os países.
7 And Y seide to hem, Ech man caste awei the offenciouns of hise iyen, and nyle ye be defoulid in the idols of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God.
7 Eu lhes disse então: que cada um lance para fora os ídolos abomináveis que atraem os vossos olhos; não mais vos mancheis com os ídolos do Egito. Eu é que sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
8 And thei terriden me to wraththe, and nolden here me; ech man castide not awei the abhomynaciouns of hise iyen, nether thei forsoken the idols of Egipt.
8 Eles, porém, se rebelaram contra mim e se recusaram a escutar-me; nenhum deles rejeitou os ídolos abomináveis que atraem os olhos e nenhum abandonou os ídolos do Egito. À vista disso, decidi desencadear sobre eles a minha cólera e contra eles e contra o próprio Egito saciar o meu furor.
9 And Y seide, that Y wold schede out myn indignacioun on hem, and fille my wraththe in hem, in the myddis of the lond of Egipt. And Y dide for my name, that it schulde not be defoulid bifore hethene men, in the myddis of whiche thei weren, and among whiche Y apperide to hem, that Y schulde lede hem out of the lond of Egipt.
9 Se eu os tirei do Egito, foi somente em consideração ao meu nome, a fim de que não fosse odiado aos olhos das nações entre as quais viviam, e onde eu me tinha dado a conhecer a eles.
10 Therfor Y castide hem out of the lond of Egipt, and Y ledde hem out in to desert;
10 Eu os fiz assim sair do Egito e os conduzi ao deserto.
11 and Y yaf to hem my comaundementis, and Y schewide to hem my doomes, which a man schal do, and lyue in tho.
11 Eu lhes dei as minhas leis e lhes ensinei os meus preceitos, em virtude dos quais vive aquele que os observa.
12 Ferthermore and Y yaf to hem my sabatis, that it schulde be a sygne bitwixe me and hem, and that thei schulden wite, that Y am the Lord halewynge hem.
12 Instituí mesmo para eles os meus sábados, como sinal entre mim e eles, a fim de que reconhecessem que sou eu, o Senhor, que os santifica.
13 And the hous of Israel terriden me to wraththe in desert; thei yeden not in my comaundementis, and thei castiden awei my domes, whiche a man that doith, schal lyue in tho; and thei defouliden greetli my sabatis. Therfor Y seide, that Y wolde schede out my strong veniaunce on hem in desert, and waste hem;
13 No deserto, todavia, os israelitas se rebelaram contra mim; não praticaram as minhas leis e rejeitaram os meus preceitos, em virtude dos quais o homem vive, quando os cumpre; profanaram gravemente os meus sábados. Por isso tomei a resolução de desencadear sobre eles o meu furor, no deserto, para aniquilá-los.
14 and Y dide for my name, lest it were defoulid bifor hethene men, fro whiche Y castide hem out in the siyt of tho.
14 Mas o fiz em consideração ao meu nome, a fim de que não ficasse ele desmoralizado aos olhos das nações, perante as quais eu os tinha feito sair {do Egito}.
15 Therfor Y reiside myn hond on hem in the desert, that Y brouyte not hem in to the lond which Y yaf to hem, the lond flowynge with mylk and hony, the beste of alle londis.
15 Todavia, no deserto, eu lhes fiz o juramento de não levá-los à terra que eu lhes tinha prometido, terra onde corria leite e mel, a mais bela de todas as terras,
16 For thei castiden awei my domes, and yeden not in my comaundementis, and thei defouliden my sabatis; for the herte of hem yede after idols.
16 porque haviam rejeitado as minhas leis, abandonando os meus preceitos, profanando os meus sábados e entregando-se intimamente a seus ídolos.
17 And myn iye sparide on hem, that Y killide not hem, nether Y wastide hem in the desert.
17 Depois eu me compadeci deles; renunciei à idéia de destruí-los, e não os exterminei completamente no deserto.
18 Forsothe Y seide to the sones of hem in wildirnesse, Nyle ye go in the comaundementis of youre fadris, nether kepe ye the domes of hem, nethir be ye defoulid in the idols of hem.
18 Eu disse no deserto a seus filhos: não sigais os preceitos dos vossos pais, não imiteis as suas práticas, contaminando-vos com os ídolos.
19 Y am youre Lord God, go ye in my comaundementis, and kepe ye my domes, and do ye tho.
19 Sou eu, o Senhor, que sou o vosso Deus. Deveis guardar as minhas leis, observar e praticar as minhas ordens.
20 And halowe ye my sabatis, that it be a signe bitwixe me and you, and that it be knowun, that Y am youre Lord God.
20 Respeitai santamente os meus sábados, a fim de que sejam um sinal entre mim e vós, e que se saiba que eu, o Senhor, é que sou o vosso Deus.
21 And the sones terriden me to wraththe, and yeden not in my comaundementis, and kepten not my domes, that thei diden tho, whiche whanne a man hath do, he schal lyue in tho, and thei defouliden my sabatis. And Y manaasside to hem, that Y wolde schede out my stronge veniaunce on hem, and fille my wraththe in hem in the desert.
21 Mas também os filhos se sublevaram contra mim, não cumpriram as minhas leis, não as observaram, pondo em prática os meus preceitos, em virtude dos quais o homem vive, desde que os cumpra; e eles profanaram os meus sábados. Por isso concebi o desígnio de desencadear contra eles a minha cólera, de fartar minha ira contra eles no deserto.
22 But Y turnede awei myn hond, and Y dide this for my name, that it were not defoulid bifore hethene men, fro whiche Y castide hem out bifore the iyen of tho.
22 Se retirei a minha mão, foi em atenção ao meu nome, a fim de que não seja desrespeitado entre as nações perante as quais eu os tirei {do Egito}.
23 Eft Y reiside myn hond ayens hem in wildirnesse, that Y schulde scatere hem in to naciouns, and wyndewe hem in to londis;
23 Entretanto, fiz, no deserto, o juramento de dispersá-los entre as nações e de disseminá-los através dos países,
24 for that that thei hadden not do my domes, and hadden repreuyd my comaundementis, and hadden defoulid my sabatis, and her iyen hadden be after the idols of her fadris.
24 porque não haviam observado os meus preceitos, tinham rejeitado as minhas leis, profanando os meus sábados e deixando seus olhos se apegar aos ídolos de seus pais.
25 Therfor and Y yaf to hem comaundementis not good, and domes in whiche thei schulen not lyue.
25 De minha parte, cheguei a dar-lhes estatutos que lhes foram funestos, ordens em virtude das quais não podiam viver;
26 And Y defoulide hem in her yiftis, whanne thei offriden to me for her trespassis al thing that openeth the wombe; and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.
26 eu os tornei impuros por suas oferendas - quando faziam passar seus primogênitos pelo fogo - para puni-los e dar-lhes a conhecer que eu sou o Senhor.
27 Wherfor speke thou, sone of man, to the hous of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, Yit and in this youre fadris blasfemyden me, whanne thei dispisynge hadden forsake me,
27 Por isso, filho do homem, dirige-te à casa de Israel: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: ainda nisso me ultrajaram os vossos pais, e me foram infiéis.
28 and Y hadde brouyte hem in to the lond on which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde yiue to hem, thei siyen ech hiy litil hil, and ech tree ful of boowis, and thei offriden there her sacrifices, and thei yauen there her offryngis, in to terring to wraththe; and thei settiden there the odour of her swetnesse, and thei offriden her moiste sacrifices.
28 Após haverem sido introduzidos por mim na terra que lhes havia jurado dar à vista de todas as suas colinas elevadas, de todas as árvores frondosas, ofereceram seus sacrifícios e apresentaram as suas oblações que me irritavam; depuseram o agradável odor {de suas oferendas} e derramaram as suas libações.
29 And Y seide to hem, What is the hiy thing, to whiche ye entren? And the name therof is clepid Hiy Thing til to this dai.
29 Então eu lhes disse: que lugar alto é esse, aonde ides? E esse nome de lugar alto é o que até hoje tem subsistido.
30 Therfor seie thou to the hous of Israel, The Lord God seith these thingis, Certis ye ben defoulid in the weie of youre fadris, and ye don fornycacioun aftir the offendingis of hem,
30 Por isso, dirige-te assim à casa de Israel: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: vós vos contaminais, à maneira dos vossos pais, e vos prostituís como os seus ídolos.
31 and in the offryng of youre yiftis, whanne ye leden ouer youre sones bi fier, ye ben defoulid in alle youre idols til to dai, and schal Y answere to you, the hous of Israel? Y lyue, seith the Lord God, for Y schal not answere to you;
31 Apresentando as vossas oferendas, fazendo passar vossos filhos pelo fogo, vós ainda hoje vos manchais com todos os vossos ídolos. E eu, casa de Israel, eu me deixarei consultar por vós? Por minha vida - oráculos do Senhor Javé -, não o farei.
32 nether the thouyte of youre soul schal be don, that seien, We schulen be as hethene men, and as naciouns of erthe, that we worschipe trees and stoonys.
32 Nada sucederá daquilo que sonhais quando dizeis: iremos fazer como as nações, como as raças da terra, rendendo culto à árvore e à pedra.
33 Y lyue, seith the Lord God, for in strong hond, and in arm stretchid forth, and in strong veniaunce sched out, I schal regne on you.
33 Por minha vida - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, é com mão forte, com braço estendido, no desencadeamento do meu furor, que eu reinarei sobre vós.
34 And Y schal lede out you fro puplis, and Y schal gadere you fro londis, in whiche ye ben scaterid; in strong hond, and in arm stretchid forth, and in strong veniaunce sched out Y schal regne on you.
34 Eu vos tirarei do meio das nações; reunir-vos-ei fora dos países onde vos achais dispersos e, com mão poderosa, braço estendido, no desencadear do meu furor,
35 And Y schal bringe you in to desert of puplis, and Y schal be demed there with you face to face.
35 vos conduzirei ao deserto das nações onde, face a face, entrarei em julgamento convosco.
36 As Y stryuede in doom ayens youre fadris in the desert of the lond of Egipt, so Y schal deme you, seith the Lord;
36 Como entrei em demanda com os vossos pais, no deserto do Egito, assim entrarei em demanda convosco - oráculo do Senhor Javé.
37 and Y schal make you suget to my septre, and Y schal bringe in you in the boondis of pees.
37 Eu vos farei passar sob o bastão e reentrar nos liames da aliança.
38 And Y schal chese of you trespassouris, and wickid men; and Y schal leede hem out of the lond of her dwelling, and thei schulen not entre in to the lond of Israel; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.
38 Segregarei do vosso meio os rebeldes e aqueles que contra mim se revoltaram, e os tirarei da terra onde se estabeleceram, e eles não entrarão na terra de Israel. Assim sabereis que sou eu o Senhor.
39 And ye, the hous of Israel, the Lord God seith these thingis, Go ye ech man aftir youre idols, and serue ye tho. That and if ye heren not me in this, and defoulen more myn hooli name in youre yiftis,
39 Quanto a vós, israelitas, eis o que diz o Senhor: ide, servi cada um de vós aos ídolos! Depois disso juro que me escutareis, e não profanareis o meu santo nome por vossas oferendas e vossos ídolos.
40 and in youre idols, in myn hooli hil, in the hiy hil of Israel, seith the Lord God, ye schulen be punyschid greuousliere. There al the hous of Israel schal serue me, sotheli alle men in the lond, in which thei schulen plese me; and there Y schal seke youre firste fruytis, and the bigynnyng of youre tithis in alle youre halewyngis.
40 É na minha montanha santa, na montanha de Israel - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, é lá que me prestará culto toda a casa de Israel, todos desta nação. Lá vos farei uma acolhida favorável. Lá receberei vossas oferendas e as primícias dos vossos dons, com tudo o que me apresentardes.
41 Y schal resseiue you in to odour of swetnesse, whanne Y schal leede you out of puplis, and schal gadere you fro londis, in whiche ye weren scaterid; and Y schal be halewid in you bifor the iyen of naciouns.
41 Em vós deliciar-me-ei com perfume agradável, quando vos tiver arrancado do meio dos povos e reunido fora dos países em que vos acháveis dispersos. Aos olhos das nações, manifestarei em vós a minha santidade;
42 And ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, whanne Y schal bringe you in to the lond of Israel, in to the lond for which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde yyue it to youre fadris.
42 e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor, quando vos tiver conduzido à terra de Israel, que jurei dar a vossos pais.
43 And ye schulen haue mynde there on youre weies, and on alle youre grete trespassis, bi whiche ye ben defoulid in tho; and ye schulen displese you in youre siyt, in alle youre malices whiche ye diden.
43 Lá reconhecereis vossa má conduta pela qual vos tornastes impuros e sentireis desgosto de vós mesmos, pelo mal que cometestes.
44 And ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, whanne Y schal do wel to you for my name; not bi youre yuel weies, nether bi youre worste trespassis, ye hous of Israel, seith the Lord God.
44 E sabereis que eu é que sou o Senhor, quando eu proceder convosco em atenção ao meu nome, não em consideração aos vossos erros e vossos costumes corrompidos, ó casa de Israel - oráculo do Senhor Javé!
45 And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
45 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:
46 and he seide, Thou, sone of man, sette thi face ayens the weie of the south, and droppe thou to the south, and profesie thou to the forest of the myddai feeld.
46 filho do homem, volta-te para a direita e profere um oráculo para o sul, um oráculo contra a floresta do meio-dia.
47 And thou schalt seie to the myddai forest, Here thou the word of the Lord. The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal kyndle a fier in thee, and Y schal brenne in thee ech green tre, and ech drie tre; the flawme of brennyng schal not be quenchid, and ech face schal be brent ther ynne, fro the south til to the north.
47 Dize à floresta meridional: escuta a palavra do Senhor: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: vou acender em tuas matas um fogo que devorará toda árvore verde e toda árvore seca. Uma chama ardente, que não se extinguirá, e queimará todos os rostos do sul ao norte.
48 And ech man schal se, that Y the Lord haue kyndlid it, and it schal not be quenchid.
48 Todo ser vivo verá que sou eu o Senhor que acendi esse fogo. Ele não se extinguirá.
49 And Y seide, A! A! A! Lord God, thei seien of me, Whethir this man spekith not bi parablis?
49 Exclamei então: ah! Senhor Javé, dir-se-á de mim que falo sempre por parábolas!
