1 Yn the secounde yeer of Joas, sone of Joachas, kyng of Israel, Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, regnyde.
1 No segundo ano do reinado de Joás, filho de Joacaz, rei de Israel, Amasias, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, tornou-se rei.
2 Amasie was of fyue and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne; forsothe he regnyde in Jerusalem nyne and twenti yeer; the name of his modir was Joade of Jerusalem.
2 Tinha vinte e cinco anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou durante vinte e nove anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Joadã, e era natural de Jerusalém.
3 And he dide riytfulnesse bifor the Lord, netheles not as Dauid, his fadir; he dide bi alle thingis whiche Joas, his fadir, dide, no but this oonli,
3 Fez o que é bom aos olhos do Senhor; mas não tanto como o seu antepassado Davi. Seguiu todas as pisadas de seu pai Joás.
4 that he dide not awei hiy thingis; for yit the puple made sacrifice, and brent encence in hiy thingis.
4 Os lugares altos, porém, não desapareceram, e o povo continuava sacrificando e oferecendo incenso nos mesmos.
5 And whanne he hadde gete the rewme, he smoot hise seruauntis, that hadden killid the kyng, his fadir;
5 Logo que se firmou o seu reinado, mandou matar todos os seus servos que tinham assassinado o rei, seu pai.
6 but he killide not the sones of hem that hadden slayn `the kyng, bi that that is writun in the book of the lawe of Moyses, as the Lord comaundide to Moises, and seide, Fadris schulen not die for the sones, nethir the sones for the fadris, but eche man schal die in his owne synne.
6 Mas não matou os filhos dos assassinos, conforme está escrito no livro da lei de Moisés, onde o Senhor deu este mandamento: Não morrerão os pais pelos filhos, nem os filhos pelos pais: cada um morrerá pelo seu próprio pecado.
7 He smoot Edom in the valey of makyngis of salt, `he smoot ten thousynde, and took `the Stoon in batel; and he clepide the name therof Jethel, `til in to present dai.
7 Amasias derrotou os edomitas no vale do Sal, matando-lhes dez mil homens. Tomou de assalto a cidade de Sela, e deu-lhe o nome de Jecteel, nome que conserva até o dia de hoje.
8 Thanne Amasie sente messangeris to Joas, sone of Joachaz, sone of Hieu, kyng of Israel, and seide, Come thou, and se we vs `in batel.
8 Amasias mandou mensageiros a Joás, filho de Joacaz, filho de Jeú, rei de Israel, para dizer-lhe: Vem, e nos veremos face a face!
9 And Joas, kyng of Israel, sente ayen to Amasie, kyng of Juda, and seide, The cardue, `that is, a low eerbe, and ful of thornes, of the Liban sente to the cedre, which is in the Liban, and seide, Yyue thi douytir wijf to my sone; and the beestis of the forest, that ben in the Liban, passiden, and tredden doun the cardue.
9 Joás, rei de Israel, respondeu a Amasias, rei de Judá: O espinho do Líbano mandou dizer ao cedro do Líbano: Dá a tua filha por mulher ao meu filho. Mas os animais selvagens do Líbano passaram e esmagaram o espinho.
10 Thou hast smyte, and haddist the maistri on Edom, and thin herte hath reisid thee; be thou apaied with glorie, and sitte in thin hows; whi excitist thou yuel, that thou falle, and Juda with thee?
10 Porque bateste os edomitas, o teu coração inchou-se de orgulho. Contenta-te com essa glória e fica em tua casa. Por que queres ir ao encontro do mal, e arriscar perder-te, tu, e Judá contigo?
11 And Amasie assentide not `to be in pees; and Joas, kyng of Israel, stiede, and he and Amasie, kyng of Juda, sien hem silf in Bethsames, a citee of Juda.
11 Mas Amasias de nada quis saber. Então o rei de Israel pôs-se a caminho, e encontraram-se ele e Amasias, rei de Judá, em Betsames, cidade de Judá.
12 And Juda was smytun bifor Israel; and thei fledden ech man in to his tabernaclis.
12 Judá foi derrotado por Israel e cada um fugiu para a sua tenda.
13 Sotheli Joas, kyng of Israel, took in Bethsames Amasie, kyng of Juda, the sone of Joas, sone of Ocozie, and brouyte hym in to Jerusalem; and he brak the wal of Jerusalem, fro the yate of Effraym `til to the yate of the corner, bi foure hundrid cubitis.
13 Joás, rei de Israel, capturou em Betsames Amasias, rei de Judá, filho de Joás, filho de Ocozias. Foi a Jerusalém e abriu uma brecha de quatrocentos côvados nos muros da cidade, desde a porta de Efraim até a porta do ângulo.
14 And he took al the gold and siluer, and alle vessels, that weren foundun in the hows of the Lord, and in the tresours of the kyng; and he took ostagis, and turnede ayen in to Samarie.
14 Tomou todo o ouro e prata, e todos os utensílios que se encontravam no templo do Senhor e nas reservas do palácio real, e voltou para Samaria, levando reféns consigo.
15 Sotheli the resydue of wordis of Joas, whiche he dide, and his strengthe, bi which he fauyt ayens Amasie, kyng of Juda, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of dayes of the kyngis of Israel?
15 O resto da história de Joás, seus atos e grandes feitos, a guerra que fez a Amasias, rei de Judá, tudo se acha consignado no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel.
16 And Joas slepte with hise fadris, and was biried in Samarie with the kyngis of Israel; and Jeroboam, his sone, regnede for hym.
16 Joás adormeceu com seus pais e foi sepultado em Samaria com os reis de Israel. Seu filho Jeroboão sucedeu-lhe no trono.
17 Forsothe Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, lyuede fyue and twenti yeer, after that Joas, sone of Joachaz, kyng of Israel, was deed.
17 Amasias, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, viveu ainda quinze anos depois da morte de Joás, filho de Joacaz, rei de Israel.
18 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Amasie, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
18 O resto da história de Amasias está consignado no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá.
19 And `sweryng togidir in Jerusalem was maad ayens hym, and he fledde in to Lachis; and thei senten aftir hym in to Lachis, and killiden hym there.
19 Tendo sido tramada contra ele uma conspiração em Jerusalém, Amasias fugiu para Laquis. Mas perseguiram-no até ali e ele foi morto.
20 And thei baren out hym in horsis, and he was biried in Jerusalem with hise fadris, in the citee of Dauid.
20 Transportaram depois o seu corpo a Jerusalém, em cima de cavalos, e sepultaram-no com seus pais na cidade de Davi.
21 Forsothe al the puple of Juda took Azarie, hauynge sixtene yeer; and maden hym king for his fadir Amasie.
21 Então todo o povo de Judá tomou Azarias, que tinha a idade de dezesseis anos, e pô-lo como rei em lugar de seu pai Amasias.
22 And he bildide Ahila, and restoride it to Juda, after that `the kyng slepte with hise fadris.
22 Ele reconstruiu Elat e restituiu-a ao domínio de Judá, depois que o rei adormecera com seus pais.
23 In the fiftenethe yeer of Amasie, sone of Joas, kyng of Juda, Jeroboam, sone of Joas, kyng of Israel, regnyde in Samarie oon and fourti yeer;
23 No décimo quinto ano do reinado de Amasias, filho de Joás, rei de Judá, Jeroboão, filho de Joás, tornou-se rei de Israel, em Samaria.
24 and dide that, that is yuel bifor the Lord; he yede not awei fro alle the synnes of Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, that made Israel to do synne.
24 Seu reino durou quarenta e um anos. Fez o mal aos olhos do Senhor, e não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nabat, que fizera pecar Israel.
25 He restoride the termes of Israel, fro the entryng of Emath `til to the see of wildirnesse, bi the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he spak bi his seruaunt Jonas, sone of Amathi, bi Jonas, the prophete, that was of Jeth, `which Jeth is in Ophir.
25 Restabeleceu as fronteiras de Israel desde a entrada de Emat até o mar da Planície, conforme tinha o Senhor anunciado pela boca de seu servo Jonas, filho de Amati, que era natural de Get-Hefer.
26 For the Lord siy the ful bittir turment of Israel, and that thei weren wastid `til to the closid men of prisoun, and the laste men, and `noon was that helpide Israel.
26 O Senhor vira, com efeito, a amargosíssima aflição de Israel, que a todos tinha consumido, pequenos e grandes, e não havia ninguém para socorrer Israel.
27 And the Lord spak not, that he schulde do awei Israel fro vndur heuene, but he sauyde hem in the hond of Jeroboam, sone of Joas.
27 O Senhor não tinha ainda resolvido apagar o nome de Israel de sob os céus, e por isso libertou-o pelas mãos de Jeroboão, filho de Joás.
28 Forsothe the residue of wordis of Jeroboam, and alle thingis whiche he dide, and the strengthe of hym, bi which he fauyt, and hou he restoride Damask, and Emath of Juda, in Israel, whether these ben not wrytun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Israel?
28 O resto da história de Jeroboão, seus atos e façanhas guerreiras, o modo como reconquistou Damasco e Emat de Judá para Israel, tudo isso se acha consignado no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Israel.
29 And Jeroboam slepte with hise fadris, the kyngis of Israel; and Azarie, his sone, regnede for hym.
29 Jeroboão adormeceu com seus pais, os reis de Israel. Seu filho Zacarias sucedeu-lhe no trono.
