1 Bigynnen we therfor eftsoone to preise vs silf? or whether we neden, as summen, pistlis of preisinge to you, or of you?
1 Porventura, começamos outra vez a louvar-nos a nós mesmos? Ou necessitamos, como alguns, de cartas de recomendação para vós ou de recomendação de vós?
2 Ye ben oure pistle, writun in oure hertis, which is knowun and red of alle men,
2 Vós sois a nossa carta, escrita em nossos corações, conhecida e lida por todos os homens,
3 and maad opyn, for ye ben the pistle of Crist mynystrid of vs, and writun, not with enke, but bi the spirit of the lyuynge God; not in stony tablis, but in fleischli tablis of herte.
3 porque já é manifesto que vós sois a carta de Cristo, ministrada por nós e escrita não com tinta, mas com o Espírito do Deus vivo, não em tábuas de pedra, mas nas tábuas de carne do coração.
4 For we han such trist bi Crist to God;
4 E é por Cristo que temos tal confiança em Deus;
5 not that we ben sufficient to thenke ony thing of vs, as of vs, but oure sufficience is of God.
5 não que sejamos capazes, por nós, de pensar alguma coisa, como de nós mesmos; mas a nossa capacidade vem de Deus,
6 Which also made vs able mynystris of the newe testament, not bi lettre, but bi spirit; for the lettre sleeth, but the spirit quykeneth.
6 o qual nos fez também capazes de ser ministros dum Novo Testamento, não da letra, mas do Espírito; porque a letra mata, e o Espírito vivifica.
7 And if the mynystracioun of deth write bi lettris in stoonys was in glorie, so that the children of Israel myyten not biholde in to the face of Moises, for the glorie of his cheer, which is auoidid,
7 E, se o ministério da morte, gravado com letras em pedras, veio em glória, de maneira que os filhos de Israel não podiam fitar os olhos na face de Moisés, por causa da glória do seu rosto, a qual era transitória,
8 hou schal not the mynystracioun of the spirit be more in glorie?
8 como não será de maior glória o ministério do Espírito?
9 For if the mynystracioun of dampnacioun was in glorie, myche more the mynysterie of riytwisnesse is plenteuouse in glorie.
9 Porque, se o ministério da condenação foi glorioso, muito mais excederá em glória o ministério da justiça.
10 For nether that that was cleer was glorified in this part for the excellent glorie; and if that that is auoidid,
10 Porque também o que foi glorificado, nesta parte, não foi glorificado, por causa desta excelente glória.
11 was bi glorie, myche more that that dwellith stille is in glorie.
11 Porque, se o que era transitório foi para glória, muito mais é em glória o que permanece.
12 Therfor we that han suche hope, vsen myche trist;
12 Tendo, pois, tal esperança, usamos de muita ousadia no falar.
13 and not as Moises leide a veil on his face, that the children of Israel schulden not biholde in to his face, which veil is auoidid.
13 E não somos como Moisés, que punha um véu sobre a sua face, para que os filhos de Israel não olhassem firmemente para o fim daquilo que era transitório.
14 But the wittis of hem ben astonyed; for in to this dai the same veil in reding of the olde testament dwellith not schewid, for it is auoidid in Crist, but in to this dai,
14 Mas os seus sentidos foram endurecidos; porque até hoje o mesmo véu está por levantar na lição do Velho Testamento, o qual foi por Cristo abolido.
15 whanne Moises is red, the veil is put on her hertis.
15 E até hoje, quando é lido Moisés, o véu está posto sobre o coração deles.
16 But whanne Israel schal be conuertid to God, the veil schal be don awei.
16 Mas, quando se converterem ao Senhor, então, o véu se tirará.
17 And the spirit is the Lord; and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is fredom.
17 Ora, o Senhor é Espírito; e onde está o Espírito do Senhor, aí há liberdade.
18 And alle we that with open face seen the glorie of the Lord, ben transformed in to the same ymage, fro clerenesse in to clerenesse, as of the spirit of the Lord.
18 Mas todos nós, com cara descoberta, refletindo, como um espelho, a glória do Senhor, somos transformados de glória em glória, na mesma imagem, como pelo Espírito do Senhor.
