1 So a man gesse vs, as mynystris of Crist, and dispenderis of the mynysteries of God.
1 Que os homens nos considerem, pois, como simples operários de Cristo e administradores dos mistérios de Deus.
2 Now it is souyt here among the dispenderis, that a man be foundun trewe.
2 Ora, o que se exige dos administradores é que sejam fiéis.
3 And to me it is for the leest thing, that Y be demyd of you, or of mannus dai; but nether Y deme my silf.
3 A mim pouco se me dá ser julgado por vós ou por tribunal humano, pois nem eu me julgo a mim mesmo.
4 For Y am no thing ouer trowynge to my silf, but not in this thing Y am iustified; for he that demeth me, is the Lord.
4 De nada me acusa a consciência; contudo, nem por isso sou justificado. Meu juiz é o Senhor.
5 Therfor nyle ye deme bifore the tyme, til that the Lord come, which schal liytne the hyd thingis of derknessis, and schal schewe the counseils of hertis; and thanne preisyng schal be to ech man of God.
5 Por isso, não julgueis antes do tempo; esperai que venha o Senhor. Ele porá às claras o que se acha escondido nas trevas. Ele manifestará as intenções dos corações. Então cada um receberá de Deus o louvor que merece.
6 And, britheren, Y haue transfigurid these thingis in to me and in to Apollo, for you; that in vs ye lerne, lest ouer that it is writun, oon ayens another be blowun with pride for another.
6 Se apliquei tudo isso a mim e a Apolo foi por vossa causa, para que, por meio de nós, aprendais a não ultrapassar o que está escrito e para que vos não ensoberbeçais tomando partido a favor de um e com prejuízo de outrem.
7 Who demeth thee? And what hast thou, that thou hast not resseyued? And if thou hast resseyued, what gloriest thou, as thou haddist not resseyued?
7 O que há de superior em ti? Que é que possuis que não tenhas recebido? E, se o recebeste, por que te glorias, como se o não tivesses recebido?
8 Nowe ye ben fyllid, now ye ben maad riche; ye regnen with outen vs; and Y wolde that ye regnen, that also we regnen with you.
8 Já estais fartos! Já estais ricos! Sem nós, sois reis! Praza a Deus que reineis, de fato, para que também nós reinemos convosco!
9 And Y gesse, that God schewide vs the laste apostlis, as thilke that ben sent to the deth; for we ben maad a spectacle to the world, and to aungels, and to men.
9 Porque, ao que parece, Deus nos tem posto a nós, apóstolos, na última classe dos homens, por assim dizer sentenciados à morte, visto que fomos entregues em espetáculo ao mundo, aos anjos e aos homens.
10 We foolis for Crist, but ye prudent in Crist; we sike, but ye stronge; ye noble, but we vnnoble.
10 Nós, estultos por causa de Cristo; e vós, sábios em Cristo! Nós, fracos; e vós, fortes! Vós, honrados; e nós, desprezados!
11 Til in to this our we hungren, and thirsten, and ben nakid, and ben smytun with buffatis,
11 Até esta hora padecemos fome, sede e nudez. Somos esbofeteados, somos errantes,
12 and we ben vnstable, and we trauelen worchynge with oure hondis; we ben cursid, and we blessen; we suffren persecucioun, and we abiden longe; we ben blasfemyd, and we bisechen;
12 fatigamo-nos, trabalhando com as nossas próprias mãos. Insultados, abençoamos; perseguidos, suportamos; caluniados, consolamos!
13 as clensyngis of this world we ben maad the `out castyng of alle thingis `til yit.
13 Chegamos a ser como que o lixo do mundo, a escória de todos até agora...
14 Y write not these thingis, that Y confounde you, but Y warne as my moste dereworthe sones.
14 Não vos escrevo estas coisas para vos envergonhar, mas admoesto-vos como meus filhos muitos amados.
15 For whi if ye han ten thousynde of vndur maistris in Crist, but not many fadris; for in Crist Jhesu Y haue gendrid you bi the gospel.
15 Com efeito, ainda que tivésseis dez mil mestres em Cristo, não tendes muitos pais; ora, fui eu que vos gerei em Cristo Jesus pelo Evangelho.
16 Therfor, britheren, Y preye you, be ye foleweris of me, as Y of Crist.
16 Por isso, vos conjuro a que sejais meus imitadores.
17 Therfor Y sente to you Tymothe, which is my most dereworthe sone, and feithful in the Lord, which schal teche you my weies, that ben in Crist Jhesu; as Y teche euery where in ech chirche.
17 Para isso é que vos enviei Timóteo, meu filho muito amado e fiel no Senhor. Ele vos recordará as minhas normas de conduta, tais como as ensino por toda parte, em todas as igrejas.
18 As thouy Y schulde not come to you, so summe ben blowun with pride;
18 Alguns, presumindo que eu não mais iria ter convosco, encheram-se de orgulho.
19 but Y schal come to you soone, if God wole; and Y schal knowe not the word of hem that ben blowun with pride, but the vertu.
19 Mas brevemente irei ter convosco, se Deus quiser, e tomarei conhecimento não do que esses orgulhosos falam, mas do que são capazes.
20 For the rewme of God is not in word, but in vertu.
20 Porque o Reino de Deus não consiste em palavras, mas em atos.
21 What wole ye? Schal Y come to you in a yerde, or in charite, and in spirit of myldenesse?
21 Que preferis? Que eu vá visitar-vos com a vara, ou com caridade e espírito de mansidão?
