Romanos 15

1 As for us who are strong, our duty is to bear with the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not seek our own pleasure.
1 Mas nós que somos fortes devemos suportar as fraquezas dos fracos e não agradar a nós mesmos.
2 Let each of us endeavour to please his fellow Christian, aiming at a blessing calculated to build him up.
2 Portanto, cada um de nós agrade ao seu próximo no que é bom para edificação.
3 For even the Christ did not seek His own pleasure. His principle was, »The reproaches which they addressed to Thee have fallen on me.«
3 Porque também Cristo não agradou a si mesmo, mas, como está escrito: Sobre mim caíram as injúrias dos que te injuriavam.
4 For all that was written of old has been written for our instruction, so that we may always have hope through the power of endurance and the encouragement which the Scriptures afford.
4 Porque tudo que dantes foi escrito para nosso ensino foi escrito, para que, pela paciência e consolação das Escrituras, tenhamos esperança.
5 And may God, the giver of power of endurance and of that encouragement, grant you to be in full sympathy with one another in accordance with the example of Christ Jesus,
5 Ora, o Deus de paciência e consolação vos conceda o mesmo sentimento uns para com os outros, segundo Cristo Jesus,
6 so that with oneness both of heart and voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
6 para que concordes, a uma boca, glorifiqueis ao Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
7 Habitually therefore give one another a friendly reception, just as Christ also has received you, and thus promote the glory of God.
7 Portanto, recebei-vos uns aos outros, como também Cristo nos recebeu para glória de Deus.
8 My meaning is that Christ has become a servant to the people of Israel in vindication of God's truthfulness –in showing how sure are the promises made to our forefathers–
8 Digo, pois, que Jesus Cristo foi ministro da circuncisão, por causa da verdade de Deus, para que confirmasse as promessas feitas aos pais;
9 and that the Gentiles also have glorified God in acknowledgment of His mercy. So it is written, »For this reason I will praise Thee among the Gentiles, and sing psalms in honour of Thy name.«
9 e para que os gentios glorifiquem a Deus pela sua misericórdia, como está escrito: Portanto, eu te louvarei entre os gentios e cantarei ao teu nome.
10 And again the Psalmist says, »Be glad, ye Gentiles, in company with His People.«
10 E outra vez diz: Alegrai-vos, gentios, com o seu povo.
11 And again, »Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles, and let all the people extol Him.«
11 E outra vez: Louvai ao Senhor, todos os gentios, e celebrai-o todos os povos.
12 And again Isaiah says, »There shall be the Root of Jesse and One who rises up to rule the Gentiles. On Him shall the Gentiles build their hopes.«
12 E outra vez diz Isaías: Uma raiz em Jessé haverá, e, naquele que se levantar para reger os gentios, os gentios esperarão.
13 May God, the giver of hope, fill you with continual joy and peace because you trust in Him–so that you may have abundant hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
13 Ora, o Deus de esperança vos encha de todo o gozo e paz em crença, para que abundeis em esperança pela virtude do Espírito Santo.
14 But as to you, brethren, I am convinced –yes, I Paul am convinced– that, even apart from my teaching, you are already full of goodness of heart, and enriched with complete Christian knowledge, and are also competent to instruct one another.
14 Eu próprio, meus irmãos, certo estou, a respeito de vós, que vós mesmos estais cheios de bondade, cheios de todo o conhecimento, podendo admoestar-vos uns aos outros.
15 But I write to you the more boldly –partly as reminding you of what you already know– because of the authority graciously entrusted to me by God,
15 Mas, irmãos, em parte vos escrevi mais ousadamente, como para vos trazer outra vez isto à memória, pela graça que por Deus me foi dada,
16 that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles, doing priestly duties in connexion with God's Good News so that the sacrifice –namely the Gentiles– may be acceptable to Him, being (as it is) an offering which the Holy Spirit has made holy.
16 que eu seja ministro de Jesus Cristo entre os gentios, ministrando o evangelho de Deus, para que seja agradável a oferta dos gentios, santificada pelo Espírito Santo.
17 I can therefore glory in Christ Jesus concerning the work for God in which I am engaged.
17 De sorte que tenho glória em Jesus Cristo nas coisas que pertencem a Deus.
18 For I will not presume to mention any of the results that Christ has brought about by other agency than mine in securing the obedience of the Gentiles by word or deed,
18 Porque não ousaria dizer coisa alguma, que Cristo por mim não tenha feito, para obediência dos gentios, por palavra e por obras;
19 with power manifested in signs and marvels, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. But –to speak simply of my own labours– beginning in Jerusalem and the outlying districts, I have proclaimed without reserve, even as far as Illyricum, the Good News of the Christ;
19 pelo poder dos sinais e prodígios, na virtude do Espírito de Deus; de maneira que, desde Jerusalém e arredores até ao Ilírico, tenho pregado o evangelho de Jesus Cristo.
20 making it my ambition, however, not to tell the Good News where Christ's name was already known, for fear I should be building on another man's foundation.
20 E desta maneira me esforcei por anunciar o evangelho, não onde Cristo houvera sido nomeado, para não edificar sobre fundamento alheio;
21 But, as Scripture says, »Those shall see, to whom no report about Him has hitherto come, and those who until now have not heard shall understand.«
21 antes, como está escrito: Aqueles a quem não foi anunciado o verão, e os que não ouviram o entenderão.
22 And it is really this which has again and again prevented my coming to you.
22 Pelo que também muitas vezes tenho sido impedido de ir ter convosco.
23 But now, as there is no more unoccupied ground in this part of the world, and I have for years past been eager to pay you a visit,
23 Mas, agora, que não tenho mais demora nestes sítios, e tendo já há muitos anos grande desejo de ir ter convosco,
24 I hope, as soon as ever I extend my travels into Spain, to see you on my way and be helped forward by you on my journey, when I have first enjoyed being with you for a time.
24 quando partir para a Espanha, irei ter convosco; pois espero que, de passagem, vos verei e que para lá seja encaminhado por vós, depois de ter gozado um pouco da vossa companhia.
25 But at present I am going to Jerusalem to serve God's people,
25 Mas, agora, vou a Jerusalém para ministrar aos santos.
26 for Macedonia and Greece have kindly contributed a certain sum in relief of the poor among God's people, in Jerusalem.
26 Porque pareceu bem à Macedônia e à Acaia fazerem uma coleta para os pobres dentre os santos que estão em Jerusalém.
27 Yes, they have kindly done this, and, in fact, it was a debt they owed them. For seeing that the Gentiles have been admitted in to partnership with the Jews in their spiritual blessings, they in turn are under an obligation to render sacred service to the Jews in temporal things.
27 Isto lhes pareceu bem, como devedores que são para com eles. Porque, se os gentios foram participantes dos seus bens espirituais, devem também ministrar-lhes os temporais.
28 So after discharging this duty, and making sure that these kind gifts reach those for whom they are intended, I shall start for Spain, passing through Rome on my way there;
28 Assim que, concluído isto, e havendo-lhes consignado este fruto, de lá, passando por vós, irei à Espanha.
29 and I know that when I come to you it will be with a vast amount of blessing from Christ.
29 E bem sei que, indo ter convosco, chegarei com a plenitude da bênção do evangelho de Cristo.
30 But I entreat you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love which His Spirit inspires, to help me by wrestling in prayer to God on my behalf,
30 E rogo-vos, irmãos, por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo e pelo amor do Espírito, que combatais comigo nas vossas orações por mim a Deus,
31 asking that I may escape unhurt from those in Judaea who are disobedient, and that the service which I am going to Jerusalem to render may be well received by the Church there,
31 para que seja livre dos rebeldes que estão na Judeia, e que esta minha administração, que em Jerusalém faço, seja bem-aceita pelos santos;
32 in order that if God be willing I may come to you with a glad heart, and may enjoy a time of rest with you.
32 a fim de que, pela vontade de Deus, chegue a vós com alegria e possa recrear-me convosco.
33 May God, who gives peace be with you all! Amen.
33 E o Deus de paz seja com todos vós. Amém!
