1 God, who in ancient days spoke to our forefathers in many distinct messages and by various methods through the Prophets,
1 Deus, que várias vezes e de diversas maneiras, falou no passado aos pais pelos profetas,
2 has at the end of these days spoken to us through a Son, who is the pre-destined Lord of the universe, and through whom He made the Ages.
2 nestes últimos dias falou-nos pelo seu Filho, a quem constituiu herdeiro de todas as coisas, por quem fez também os mundos.
3 He brightly reflects God's glory and is the exact representation of His being, and upholds the universe by His all-powerful word. After securing man's purification from sin He took His seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
3 O qual, sendo o resplendor de sua glória, e a imagem expressa de sua pessoa, e sustentando todas as coisas pela palavra do seu poder, havendo feito por si mesmo a purificação dos nossos pecados, assentou-se à destra da Majestade nas alturas;
4 having become as far superior to the angels as the Name He possesses by inheritance is more excellent than theirs.
4 tendo sido feito tanto melhor do que os anjos, assim obteve por herança um nome mais excelente do que eles.
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say, »My Son art Thou: I have this day become Thy Father;« and again, »I will be a Father to Him, and He shall be My Son«?
5 Porque a qual dos anjos disse ele alguma vez: Tu és meu Filho, neste dia te gerei? E outra vez: Eu serei para ele um Pai, e ele será para mim um Filho?
6 But speaking of the time when He once more brings His Firstborn into the world, He says, »And let all God's angels worship Him.«
6 E outra vez, quando traz ao mundo o primogênito, diz: E que todos os anjos de Deus o adorem.
7 Moreover of the angels He says, »He changes His angels into winds, and His ministering servants into a flame of fire.«
7 E dos anjos diz: Quem faz dos seus anjos espíritos, e de seus ministros uma chama de fogo.
8 But of His Son, He says, »Thy throne, O God, is for ever and for ever, and the sceptre of Thy Kingdom is a sceptre of absolute justice.
8 Mas ao Filho ele diz: Teu trono, ó Deus, é para sempre e sempre; cetro de justiça é o cetro do teu reino.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Thy God, has anointed Thee with the oil of gladness beyond Thy companions.«
9 Amaste a justiça e odiaste a iniquidade; por isso Deus, também o teu Deus, te ungiu com o óleo da alegria mais do que a teus companheiros.
10 It is also of His Son that God says, »Thou, O Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Thy hands.
10 E tu, Senhor, no princípio estabeleceste a fundação da terra, e os céus são as obras de tuas mãos.
11 The heavens will perish, but Thou remainest; and they will all grow old like a garment,
11 Eles perecerão, mas tu permaneces; e todos eles envelhecerão como acontece com a vestimenta;
12 and, as though they were a mantle Thou wilt roll them up; yes, like a garment, and they will undergo change. But Thou art the same, and Thy years will never come to an end.«
12 e como um manto tu irás dobrá-los e eles serão mudados; mas tu és o mesmo, e os teus anos não falharão.
13 To which of the angels has He ever said, »Sit at My right hand till I make Thy foes a footstool for Thy feet«?
13 Mas a qual dos anjos disse ele alguma vez: Assenta-te à minha destra, até que ponha os teus inimigos por escabelo de teus pés?
14 Are not all angels spirits that serve Him–whom He sends out to render service for the benefit of those who, before long, will inherit salvation?
14 Não são todos eles espíritos ministradores, enviados para servir àqueles que serão herdeiros da salvação?
