¹ Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. The number of those who did the work according to their service was:

¹ Além disso, Davi e os capitães do exército separaram para o serviço alguns dos filhos de Asafe, e de Hemã, e de Jedutum, que deveriam profetizar com harpas, com saltérios, e com címbalos; e o número dos trabalhadores, segundo o seu serviço, era:

² of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied at the order of the king.

² dos filhos de Asafe: Zacur, e José, e Netanias, e Asarela, os filhos de Asafe, sob as mãos de Asafe, o qual profetizava segundo a ordem do rei.

³ Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the LORD with the harp.

³ De Jedutum: os filhos de Jedutum; Gedalias, e Zeri, e Jesaías, Hasabias, e Matitias, seis, sob as mãos do seu pai, Jedutum, que profetizava com uma harpa, para dar graças e louvor ao SENHOR.

⁴ Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

⁴ De Hemã: os filhos de Hemã; Buquias, Matanias, Uziel, Sebuel, Jerimote, Hananias, Hanani, Eliata, Gidalti, Romanti-Ézer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir, e Maaziote;

⁵ All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

⁵ todos estes eram os filhos de Hemã, o vidente do rei nas palavras de Deus, para erguer o chifre. E Deus deu a Hemã, catorze filhos e três filhas.

⁶ All these were under the hands of their father for song in the LORD’s house, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of God’s house: Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

⁶ Todos estes estiveram debaixo das mãos do seu pai para cânticos na casa do SENHOR, com címbalos, saltérios, e harpas para o serviço da casa de Deus, segundo a ordem do rei a Asafe, Jedutum e Hemã.

⁷ The number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in singing to the LORD, even all who were skilful, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

⁷ Então, o número deles, com os seus irmãos que eram instruídos nos cânticos do SENHOR, a saber, todos os que eram peritos, era de duzentos e oitenta e oito.

⁸ They cast lots for their offices, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the student.

⁸ E eles lançaram sorte, guarda contra guarda, tanto o pequeno como o grande, tanto o mestre quanto o discípulo.

⁹ Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph; the second to Gedaliah, he and his brothers and sons were twelve;

⁹ Ora, a primeira sorte saiu por Asafe para José; a segunda para Gedalias, que, com os seus irmãos e filhos eram doze;

¹⁰ the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve;
