1 Senhor, não me repreendas no teu furor nem me disciplines na tua ira.
2 \38:1\A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 Pois as tuas flechas me atravessaram, e a tua mão me atingiu.
3 \38:2\For thy arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand falleth heavy upon me.
3 Por causa de tua ira todo o meu corpo está doente; não há saúde nos meus ossos por causa do meu pecado.
4 \38:3\There is no soundness in my flesh because of thy anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
4 As minhas culpas me afogam; são como um fardo pesado e insuportável.
5 \38:4\For my iniquities have gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 Minhas feridas cheiram mal e supuram por causa da minha insensatez.
6 \38:5\My wounds are offensive, and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6 Estou encurvado e muitíssimo abatido; o dia todo saio vagueando e pranteando.
7 \38:6\I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
7 Estou ardendo em febre; todo o meu corpo está doente.
8 \38:7\For my loins are filled with a lothsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 Sinto-me muito fraco e totalmente esmagado; meu coração geme de angústia.
9 \38:8\I am feeble and grievously broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
9 Senhor, diante de ti estão todos os meus anseios; o meu suspiro não te é oculto.
10 \38:9\Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
10 Meu coração palpita, as forças me faltam; até a luz dos meus olhos se foi.
11 \38:10\My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of my eyes, that also is gone from me.
11 Meus amigos e companheiros me evitam por causa da doença que me aflige; ficam longe de mim os meus vizinhos.
12 \38:11\My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my affliction; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 Os que desejam matar-me preparam armadilhas, os que me querem prejudicar anunciam a minha ruína; passam o dia planejando traição.
13 \38:12\They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
13 Como um surdo, não ouço, como um mudo, não abro a boca.
14 \38:13\But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
14 Fiz-me como quem não ouve, e em cuja boca não há resposta.
15 \38:14\Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 Senhor, em ti espero; Tu me responderás, ó Senhor meu Deus!
16 \38:15\For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
16 Pois eu disse: "Não permitas que eles se divirtam à minha custa, nem triunfem sobre mim quando eu tropeçar".
17 \38:16\For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
17 Estou a ponto de cair, e a minha dor está sempre comigo.
18 \38:17\For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
18 Confesso a minha culpa; em angústia estou por causa do meu pecado.
19 \38:18\For I will declare my iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
19 Meus inimigos, porém, são muitos e poderosos; é grande o número dos que me odeiam sem motivo.
20 \38:19\But my enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
20 Os que me retribuem o bem com o mal caluniam-me porque é o bem que procuro.
21 \38:20\They also that render evil for good are my adversaries; because I follow the thing that is good.
21 Senhor, não me abandones! Não fiques longe de mim, ó meu Deus!
22 \38:21\Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
22 Apressa-te a ajudar-me, Senhor, meu Salvador!
23 \38:22\Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.
