¹ For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David. In Yahweh I take refuge: How do you{+} say to my soul, Flee to your{+} mountain, birds;

¹ Ao mestre de canto. De Davi. É junto do Senhor que procuro refúgio. Por que dizer-me: Foge, velozmente, para a montanha, como um pássaro;

² For, look, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart;

² eis que os maus entesam seu arco, ajustam a flecha na corda, para ferir, de noite, os que têm o coração reto.

³ If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?

³ Quando os próprios fundamentos se abalam, que pode fazer ainda o justo?

⁴ Yahweh is in his holy temple; Yahweh, his throne is in heaven; His eyes look at, his eyelids try, the sons of man.

⁴ Entretanto, o Senhor habita em seu templo, o Senhor tem seu trono no céu. Sua vista está atenta, seus olhares observam os filhos dos homens.

⁵ Yahweh tries the righteous; But the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.

⁵ O Senhor sonda o justo como o ímpio, mas aquele que ama a injustiça, ele o aborrece.

⁶ On the wicked he will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup.

⁶ Sobre os ímpios ele fará cair uma chuva de fogo e de enxofre; um vento abrasador de procela será o seu quinhão.

⁷ For Yahweh is righteous; he loves righteousness: The upright will see his face.

⁷ Porque o Senhor é justo, ele ama a justiça; e os homens retos contemplarão a sua face.
