1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, you{+} ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no access: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.
1 Recebi esta mensagem acerca de Tiro: Lamentem, navios de Társis, pois o porto e as casas de Tiro foram destruídos! Os boatos que vocês ouviram em Chipre são verdadeiros.
2 Be still, you{+} inhabitants of the coast, O merchants of Sidon, your messengers passed over the sea.
2 Chorem em silêncio, moradores do litoral e comerciantes de Sidom! Seus negociantes atravessavam o mar
3 And on great waters the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue; and she was the mart of nations.
3 e navegavam em águas profundas. Traziam-lhe os cereais do Egito e as colheitas do Nilo. Você era o mercado das nações.
4 Be ashamed, O Sidon; for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying, I haven't travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.
4 Agora, porém, será envergonhada, cidade de Sidom, pois Tiro, a fortaleza do mar, diz: “Nunca tive dores de parto nem dei à luz; não tenho filhos nem filhas”.
5 When the report comes to Egypt, they will be very pained at the report of Tyre.
5 Quando o Egito receber a notícia sobre Tiro, haverá grande tristeza.
6 Pass{+} over to Tarshish; wail, you{+} inhabitants of the coast.
6 Avisem Társis! Lamentem, moradores do litoral!
7 Is this your{+} joyous [city], whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her far off to sojourn?
7 Essas ruínas são tudo que resta de sua cidade antes tão alegre? Como foi longa sua história! Quantos colonizadores enviaram para lugares distantes!
8 Who has purposed this against Tyre, the bestower of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honorable of the earth?
8 Quem trouxe essa calamidade sobre Tiro, a grande fundadora de reinos? Seus comerciantes eram todos príncipes, seus negociantes eram os nobres da terra.
9 Yahweh of hosts has purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.
9 O S enhor dos Exércitos fez isso para acabar com seu orgulho, para rebaixar os nobres da terra.
10 Pass through your land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no restraint anymore.
10 Venham, habitantes de Társis, percorram a terra como faz o Nilo, pois Tiro está indefesa.
11 He has stretched out his hand over the sea, he has shaken the kingdoms: Yahweh has given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy its strongholds.
11 O S enhor estendeu a mão sobre o mar e sacudiu os reinos da terra. Pronunciou-se contra a Fenícia e ordenou que suas fortalezas fossem destruídas.
12 And he said, You will no more rejoice, O you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; even there you will have no rest.
12 Disse: “Você nunca mais se alegrará, ó filha de Sidom, pois foi esmagada. Mesmo que fuja para Chipre, não encontrará descanso”.
13 Look, the land of the Chaldeans: this people was not; the Assyrian founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness; they set up their towers; they overthrew its palaces; they made it a ruin.
13 Olhem para a terra da Babilônia; seu povo não existe mais! Os assírios entregaram a Babilônia aos animais selvagens do deserto. Construíram rampas de ataque junto a seus muros, demoliram seus palácios e transformaram a cidade num monte de ruínas.
14 Howl, you{+} ships of Tarshish; for your{+} stronghold is laid waste.
14 Lamentem, navios de Társis, pois seu porto está destruído!
15 And it will come to pass in that day, that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it will be to Tyre as in the song of the prostitute.
15 Durante setenta anos, o tempo de vida de um rei, Tiro ficará esquecida. Depois disso, porém, a cidade voltará à vida, como na canção sobre a prostituta:
16 Take a harp, go about the city, you prostitute that has been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that you may be remembered.
16 Pegue a harpa e ande pelas ruas, ó prostituta esquecida. Cante uma doce melodia e entoe suas canções, para que voltem a lembrar-se de você.
17 And it will come to pass after the end of seventy years, that Yahweh will visit Tyre, and she will return to her hire, and will prostitute with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth.
17 Depois de setenta anos, o S enhor fará Tiro renascer. Contudo, não será diferente do que era antes. Voltará a ser prostituta de todos os reinos do mundo.
18 And her merchandise and her wages will be holiness to Yahweh: it will not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise will be for those who dwell before Yahweh, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
18 No final, porém, seu lucro será entregue ao S enhor . Suas riquezas não serão acumuladas, mas proverão comida farta e roupas finas para os servos do S enhor .
