1 Samuel 7

1 And the men of Kiriath-jearim came, and fetched up the ark of Yahweh, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of Yahweh.
1 E os homens de Quiriate-Jearim vieram, e ergueram a arca do SENHOR, e a trouxeram para dentro da casa de Abinadabe, no outeiro, e santificaram Eleazar, o seu filho, para guardar a arca do SENHOR.
2 And it came to pass, from the day that the ark remained in Kiriath-jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after Yahweh.
2 E sucedeu que, enquanto a arca permanecia em Quiriate-Jearim, o tempo foi longo; pois se passaram vinte anos; e toda a casa de Israel lamentava pelo SENHOR.
3 And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, If you{+} are returning to Yahweh with all your{+} heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you{+}, and direct your{+} hearts to Yahweh, and serve him only; and he will deliver you{+} out of the hand of the Philistines.
3 E Samuel falou a toda a casa de Israel, dizendo: Se, verdadeiramente, retornardes ao SENHOR de todo o vosso coração, então ponde de lado os deuses estranhos e removei Astarote do meio de vós, e preparai o vosso coração para o SENHOR, e servi a ele somente; e ele vos livrará da mão dos filisteus.
4 Then the sons of Israel put away the Baalim and the Ashtaroth, and served Yahweh only.
4 Então os filhos de Israel, verdadeiramente, puseram de lado os baalins e Astarote, e serviram somente o SENHOR.
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you{+} to Yahweh.
5 E Samuel disse: Congregai todo o Israel em Mispá, e eu orarei por vós ao SENHOR.
6 And they gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before Yahweh, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against Yahweh. And Samuel judged the sons of Israel in Mizpah.
6 E eles se reuniram em Mispá, e tiraram água, e a derramaram diante do SENHOR, e jejuaram naquele dia, e ali disseram: Pecamos contra o SENHOR. E Samuel julgou os filhos de Israel em Mispá.
7 And when the Philistines heard that the sons of Israel had gathered together to Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the sons of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
7 E quando os filisteus ouviram que os filhos de Israel estavam reunidos em Mispá, os senhores dos filisteus subiram contra Israel. E, quando os filhos de Israel ouviram aquilo, ficaram com temor dos filisteus.
8 And the sons of Israel said to Samuel, Don't cease to cry to Yahweh our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
8 E os filhos de Israel disseram a Samuel: Não cesses de clamar por nós ao SENHOR nosso Deus, para que ele nos salve da mão dos filisteus.
9 And Samuel took a nursing lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt-offering to Yahweh: and Samuel cried to Yahweh for Israel; and Yahweh answered him.
9 E Samuel tomou um cordeiro que ainda mamava, e o ofereceu inteiramente como oferta queimada ao SENHOR; e Samuel clamou ao SENHOR por Israel; e o SENHOR o ouviu.
10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt-offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but Yahweh thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were struck down before Israel.
10 E enquanto Samuel oferecia a oferta queimada, os filisteus se aproximaram para pelejar contra Israel; porém, naquele dia, o SENHOR trovejou com um grande trovão, naquele dia, sobre os filisteus, e os desmantelou; e eles foram feridos diante de Israel.
11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, until they came under Beth-car.
11 E os homens de Israel saíram de Mispá, e perseguiram os filisteus, e os feriram, até eles chegarem abaixo de Bete-Car.
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, So far Yahweh has helped us.
12 Então Samuel pegou uma pedra, e a colocou entre Mispá e Sem, e chamou o seu nome de Ebenézer, dizendo: Até aqui o SENHOR nos ajudou.
13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come inside the border of Israel anymore: and the hand of Yahweh was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
13 Assim, os filisteus foram subjugados, e eles não entraram mais no termo de Israel; e a mão do SENHOR esteve contra os filisteus todos os dias de Samuel.
14 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and their border Israel delivered out of the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
14 E as cidades que os filisteus haviam tomado de Israel foram restauradas a Israel, desde Ecrom até Gate; e os seus termos Israel libertou das mãos dos filisteus. E houve paz entre Israel e os amorreus.
15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
15 E Samuel julgou Israel todos os dias da sua vida.
16 And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
16 E ele ia de ano a ano e rodeava a Betel, e Gilgal e Mispá, e julgava Israel em todos aqueles lugares.
17 And his return was to Ramah, for his house was there; and there he judged Israel: and he built there an altar to Yahweh.
17 E o seu retorno era para Ramá, pois lá estava a sua casa; e lá ele julgava Israel; e lá ele edificou um altar ao SENHOR.
